The best thing should be to measure the signal/noise just before the ADC.

Not sure if that is true. The specs are not straightforward to compare, but the MixPre 10 has 96dB of gain (input gain and fader combined) mic to recording, as they state.
The 552 has 93dB mic to line out...
Oups that is not clear on the specs sheet for mixpré3 to 10 I can read that mic gain is 76 dB AND fader +20 dB .Does it mean that the 20 dB of the faders is digital gain ?
-
552 has more gain than the Mixpre.

The box si very useful when recording in stéréo : it permits a very accurate control of the recording stereo angle.
You really should keep it.
-
The 600 series does not have 4,5 or 6 faders link...

If your are a pro...I think you had better not to use ENR1.2 ou ENC1.2. I tested those commander, and I did not like what I hear.
-
I use ENR or ENC Compander. Mostly ENR for hop.
-
I think the the TX gain is not set properly. In the Wisy transmiter there is a presset called "Line" it works very good. As NCG says you can also output a tone at 0 dBfs ( or 20dBu) and set the TX level in order to be just at the clipping limit.
The MPR output max level is at 18 dBu and the MCR42 at 12 dBu.
-
I use MPR30ENG as hop. Max output level is 18 dBu. It is a very good receiver. You can adjust the output level to mic level.

VM, I sent one, I posted when, but I think it was about 15 months ago from memory. I also sent one 5 days ago. No answer to either. I think the proof is right here, or the lack of it. Why is there no response from Wysicom on any of this conversation. Zero. As a joke maybe every New Year's day I'll just start putting on my calendar, make it my annual joke to send Wysicom an email.
Sincerely, Martin
The 13h of October I sent a mail at support AT wisycom DOT com about wdf files at 11:43. I got a usable answer the same day at 12:03.
Not so bad !

Constantin, Someone had mentioned long ago that Wysicom had terrible customer service. I sent them an email asking a pre-sales question. It has been 14 months, I am still waiting. If they don't care about making money on sales, how concerned are they going to be about repairs. The terrible customer service comment came from a dealer.
I find it really interesting how some manufacturers treat dealers terrible and yet treat customers really pretty well.
Then there are manufacturers that treat dealers great and blow off the actual customers. Odd.
Sincerely, Martin
I sent two emails to Wisycom. One a few months ago, the other one a few years ago. I received a very prompt answer for each emails, and a precise answer to my question.

Does the Kortwich have limiters?
No, it has no limiters. This why I prefer too a SD302.

Which research ? I would like to read this research. Is there a name, or a link ?

In very crowded radio environment digital transmission seems good, but in other situations I have not noticed a good range with digital transmission with whips antennas. Two weeks ago I added in my "all brand" test Audio LTD 1010 and Sennheiser 6042/D9000 : the result was the same (the new Zaxcom's modulation ZHD was still not available in France two weeks ago so I have not tested it.

In Tahiti there are only two VDBT transmitters : 630-638 MHz and 646 - 652 MHz. So don't worry !

Yes but it is unclear. The meter can be set on peak, vu or vu+peak. And the Vu and the peak do no give the same level with voices. On première as it is in dBfs it is supposed to be a peak mode.

I have a friend that I'm working with next week shooting on a 5d mk3 doing double system. When we import my audio, recorded on a 633 at 0db, he has severely low levels in Adobe. Any clues?
0 dB ? You mean in peak mode (0 peak) or in Vu mode (0 Vu) ?

IMO, both are very good choices.

I did very long show on a 788 and long show on a 688. Never had a problem except when there were not enough memory on the DD or memory card.
-
I used the 788 one just to clean the director's headphone when there is to many wirellesses. It is not usable on a mixtrack.
I use the 688's Dugan on a mix, on a talk show. I test it, and leave it on. 5 or 6 mics (4/5 handmics,1 headset, 1 stéréo mic) in noisy public places. It really helps me to provide a usable mix.

After a scan, in February 2015, 470 to 486 was the only place in the UHF band that was free of DVBT. The other parts of the band were very crowded. Do not expect a good range without a wideband wireless in Italy.

I asked today to a dealer. So now it seems that to have all the companders you need to pay 200€ more to buy the "Digcom" option. He told me also that if you want to add it later, the receiver needs to ship to the factory.

Italy is Wisycom's country. You won't have any trouble with Wisycom !... And you'll see that they are very, very usefull in Italy....In Milano I found only two free DAB channels !
