  1. I recently had a last minute, 3-Red shoot, in which I scrambled to assemble TC from my brilliant and flexible colleagues. Day 1-I ran (1) Tig, and (2) Tentacles, all synch'd from my 702T. On set DIT stated that all 3 cams were out of synch with audio. Day 2 & 3- I rented (3) SB-T, and things moved smoothly from there. Obviously anecdotal, but theres something nice about falling back on the "tank" SB-T, and having everything resolve; irrespective of where the error lies. Best
  2. Robert Street bridge from Raspberry Island just before sunrise, St. Paul, Minnesota. best
  3. Im always fretting about the lever arm length of the torque equation. Im out in the field right now with a 664/Stingray set-up, and Im very glad ya'll fretted about it too. Go wide baby, go wide ! best, Steven
  4. Very sad news indeed. A true "independent" visionary. The visuals from the first "Nightmare" are truly phenomenol, without CGI: Freddie coming through the wall, Depp's death in the bed...horrifying. Very sad.
  5. Lucky ! I had an ex who was a paisa. Loved every aspect of her and her city. best, Steven
  6. Thanks for this, Derek. The banner also caught my eye, and I'm mulling between used Deneckes and these. Best, Steven
  7. Yes. I'll admit to you Dave, your new harness is the first thing to possibly sway me from my system. Im going to check it out at LSC. Best
  8. Wow...they were thinking all the things I was thinking. Would love to test drive one. Volunteers ? Yes ! Rachel ! Go for it and report back...lol best, Steven
  9. ROTFLMAO ! Thanks, Nate. My daughter's carpenter pixie helps me feel a little closer to her when Im on the road for long stretches. I may even add some more...lol. Best
  10. When we switched to the F55, I did just that. But I prefer the unislot: less cable clutter, more protection for the SRb. best, Steven
  11. Rachel had asked me to send some pics of my tac vest set-up, so I decided to just post it here in the original thread. My rig is a 5.11 tac vest (not a plate carrier) attached to a heavily reinforced speed belt, with 2 "drop pouches". My bag (currently a 664 in a Ktek stingray with (4) 411a, (2) SMQV, and an R1a. It keeps my back alive through 14 hours, but the trade-off is limited breathability and bulkiness (also some suspicious stares and half-joking comments about looking like a terrorist). I tried 2 separate harnesses, but the weight distribution didnt cut it for me. My rig, when fastened down tight, keeps everything tight, close, and distributed. The rig: With a M.O.L.L.E system, there's endless options to hang and place bags and pouches. Two carabiners for the bag: Back view shows how robust the speed belt is; it reslly anchors the weight: Drop pouches on both sides; tons of space for batteries, lav accesories, water, etc. With my bag: Side view: Sweat city, and navigating through crowded restaurants is a chore, but my back feels better at the end of the day. Best, Steven
  12. This was a fun thing to do during grad school when in the library, checking out all the famous alum's thesis films. If you know a student there, make a day of it. Saw Murch speak at a local FCP users group, read Blink of an Eye...the cats a Modern Master. Best, Steven
  13. Now remember, I'm a junior soundo, but when I was in the field last year and things were sounding over-modulated I found this at the tail-end of the 3700 manual: I assumed this meant that -40dBu was the max for the unislot, so that's what I dropped my SRb levels to. Things sounded great, so I went with it. Your 3100 looks to be the same: What level did you finally decide on, and does that spec indeed indicate the "maximum" ? Best, Steven
  14. Hey Jason, I ran an SRb in an HPX3700 unislot last year for an entire show. While I don't remember the exact level setting I used, I definitely remember having to step down from my usual setting of +5 to keep it from sounding overmodulated. Most of that show used camera audio, and post never had any complaints. I think you're fine. Best, Steven
  15. Nice job on the Lectro flavored ketchup. best, Steven
  16. I remembered this issue, Marc, when I started having the same issue running 2 SMQV out of my bag: one would just intermittently shut off. The split post inside the connector sometimes gets squeezed together. Tim from LSC used the small Lectro screwdriver to gently spread it open and both SMQV have been trouble free for over a year. Worth a try if you're still experiencing that issue. Best, Steven
  17. I just now got that. Nice joke, Reinout. My apologies for being such a dunce. And nice work. best, Steven
  18. Maybe his skeleton is plated with adamantium, making him a walking Farraday shield ?
  19. Hey, Boss. When I fantasize about the Millenium Falcon, I wonder about those knobs in a bag. How do you keep from moving them ? In a bag of course . Best Steven
  20. Hey, Pindrop. I do agree with your points about health, and industrial farming (the Neon Pig was completely farm to table, by the by). Ill not be so reactive next time, and I'll only choose the SLX from a single city. Outside of that, Ill trust you to manage your own reaction, as many things hysterize my psyche !!! best, Steven
  21. Lovin this thread, been experimenting with the pan function of the iPhone. South Beach Florida, and Churchill Downs, Kentucky best, Steven Absolutely beautiful. Though, Im conflicted about drones; as one nearly hit me and my daughter as it fell from the sky in a neighborhood park recently. The operator did nothing to apologize. Be warned, the next one meets my Doc Martens. Best, Steven
  22. I apologize, Pindrop, for using profanity. You don't deserve that. Best, Steven
  23. Wow...really ? You know, you people hunted both the wooly mammoth, and the giant three-toed sloth into instinction... all before the invention of the crossbow (let alone the firearm). Nothing immoral about eating meat...seriously. Go pet your dog and smoke some fucking dope. best
