  2. HI all I'm contemplating the QIFB upgrade to my QRX100/TRX900 camera link, and I'm somewhat confused about a few of the functions and the required cables etc... To get the return audio into the QRX100 at the camera end, is that using the 5P XLR audio out (on ENG/EFP cameras) or the 3.5mm mini-jack to the audio input on the QRX? Is the return signal going to be a mono mix or can I select Ch 1 and/or Ch 2 separately? Can the QRX100 send back to the TRZ900 TC and return audio at the same time, or must I choose one or the other? At the TRX900 end, if I plug my cans into the audio/TC connector I can only get a mono mix of what my 788T is sending to the TRX900, plus it is left ear only... does that mean the right channel is being designated to the TC signal and the left channel is IFB mono mix? I guess what I'd really like to understand is can the equipment do the following: Receive TC from the camera to the TRX900 and then which cable must I have to get the TC signal into my 788T? Receive return audio from the camera as a mono mix in both L&R ears, while also performing the TC RX at the same time? I have a splitter box for my cans so I can select to monitor from the 788T directly or from the TRX900 which I'm hoping for the aforementioned mono mix return, but in both ears... I apologize in advance if my ignorance is blatant... Take care! Rgd's Catpants
  3. Surely its just a small amount of code to allow such a mod? Cmon SD guys... please?? Catpants
  4. I'd love to see a stereo 1Khz tone option which would identify the left channel by oscillating on and off for a millisecond on the left channel only... much like the SQN mixers do. Just sayin... Catpants

  6. Hi I was recently on a low budget film in Indonesia for the last two months and my QRX100 gave up the fight on one extremely hot day - sure, the location was as hostile as I'd ever been in (an active volcano in easter Java), plus the unit was sitting on top of an even hotter Alexa, which coincidentally never gave up, despite the extraordinary volcanic ash/dust storms. I only found out the next day when the data wrangler told me that there was intermittant and then no sound recorded to the camera... slight annoying but no real issue as I was using the 788T as the main recorder, and man, did that thing get hot - too hot to touch for too long! But since I've had the Zaxcom kit that's been the only failure I've had... great units, very well built, but hate the menu structure, I'm no astronaut, but I find it a bit overwhelming! Rgd's Andrew
