  1. Fron Denecke SIZE: 1.25 x 3.0 x 4.0 in. Voltage is 48 volts ±3 volts. WEIGHT: 8.0 oz. Current to 14 mA (direct short). External Voltage from 6.8 to 18 volts. Noise floor is under .01 mV AC. Uses one standard 9 volt alkaline battery. Battery life (depending on mic load) from 4 to 38 hours. Current from 3mA to 280 mA depending on the mic. Let say, that if you are running with high current microphones like Earthworks , Schoeps cmc 3 or AKG 451 or similar , alkaline batteries , cold weather , then the 4 hours could be even shorter . I don't really get what is the 280 ma mean , maybe some one from Denecke could explain what is about , is it external power supply current ? MS
  2. Don't really know what recorder you do use for your natural recordings , but , if you do use to run long hours , the internal battery life of Denecke is not really grate , Especially if you run 2 microphones which could drown up to 20 ma . Send your recorder in . MS
  3. AB - You have a problem with your phantom circuit , it may be one of the components which not play well with high humidity or how that component is placed on the board with some proximity to other component - send it for repair or buy external phantom power supply . I will say that most likely, this bad component is very close to xlr input . MS
  4. Usually ribbons will make it sounds most natural and you will have a good low end for your recordings . You can get good stereo image by placing the mics one above another by 90 degree, for double figure of 8 . Just be careful and place wind protection on mics, not to damage these when you work outside . MS
  5. Check if you have the same problem when you feed the recorder mic level from external device, use your usb pre with attenuators on its outs , phantom off ,then phantom on . iF you don't have attenuators , make the same test with self powered mic, dynamic mic or with external phantom power supply . Try the equipment in a hot, damp bathroom as Larry suggested . If it is still going on - you have problem with one of the preamp stage components which go nuts at humid location , if it doesn't , you do have problem with your recorder phantom power supply from the same reason . MS
  6. You will be fine with these MS
  7. That's the only thing that they can sell - the image . MS
  8. You are definitely mistaken me with someone else ,who is Oleg ? After allot of reading on this forum i also found that Porta have it good sides , it has stable price in US$ . MS Michael Spector - Sound/boom , Macedonia and rest of the world .
  9. If i was Old American Sound mixer , I definitely was buying a German car and Petrol bags to insure my life and my Sound investment . MS
  10. Few months ago I had an opportunity catch petrol guys in Germany, they do have plans to make the 607 big brother, same "one bag fit them all" characteristics as the Eargonizers, so no need to buy 10 different bags if you change your gear. But ,one which will be much lighter then 601-603 line . Something to fit 552/SQN 5 type mixer or 744/442 combo with 4-6 receivers or 788 with cl 8 or fusion with at least 4 sr-5, additionally as usual ,ability have detachable pouches to carry 2 to 4 tx or rx . The 607 I use , weight about 750 grams empty ,950 with dividers and all around . The bag they where talking about would be less then 1 kg , about 1.25 with all stuff supplied with, that is about half of the 602 weight . MS
  11. Senator , if you on face book , check the soudies pictures , you will find that the majority of people do dislike Portabrace whithout reason , and they stuck with it :-) MS ps : I dislike them 2
  12. Exactly , that's why Rado dislikes Portabrace design , it's personal . MS
  13. Tapio , apparently the micro climate for Petrol stuff in Finland is about unique as your language . The orange stuff is a suicide protection for these who could become insane trying to find something inside dark bag interiors for the half year of the night time they do have :-) MS
  14. Subjectivity ,may be , I just see the Petrol about 5 to 1 for any other sound bag and from what I sow in USA , its about 10 to 1 . So from what I get , it is the most of the people not really like the Portabrace . MS
  15. Sorry Senator ,in Europe , no one really use Portabrace sound bags for very long time , not really delivers the flexibility , ruggedness and happy user face . Even before Petrol , in my region, soundies where using K.T. systems . MS
  16. The flights are only 7-9 days , the rest of the trip, another 46 days with Horses , small cars ,boats and by foot , so as you get it, hard cases and I have half dozen of these ,cant really help .
  17. Very nice bag , but that one is a bit large to take it as hand luggage to the plain . And it must be hand luggage since we are not using direct flight so sh.. could happen, and i already had this issues while back when my gear and all the lenses arrived 8 days later :-) We are not going come back in the same way , so using hard cases and then send the cases back, seems a bit problematic and defiantly not cheap from South America to Europe. We are going to be 3 man and like to carry all the important gear with us to the airplane , dividing the gear so the DP will carry the F-3 and lenses in one padded bag , director will carry my Zeppelins , mini vdb boom ,744 and additional 7D with couple of zooms in another bag , while I'm carrying my Petrol 603 with 788 , radios , lavalieres , headphones and at least 3 batteries and dual charger , me and the camera are sharing the same type of 95 w batteries which are good for Sony . All the rest would be send as regular baggage . The lights , monopod , my other boom and Vinten fluid + tripod will be in the other 2 soft tripod bags , so are my spare cables ,smart slate and rest of the junk with my personal stuff in another soft Kata. The thing that caught my eye with the Petrol, was ability to place different shape stuff inside , then pump in the air and get ultimate protection in size which have approval to take on board , later if we are not going to use that bag just compress it to minimal size and place in another soft bag MS
  18. Very impressive , but unfortunately to small for my needs and for the same solution i prefer Kata as they live longer and usually much cheaper. What I have had in mind , is to be able pick up at least 3 zeppelins , equipped with mkh 60, rsm 191 and mkh 50 and spare 744 recorder with 607 bag . So any other suggestions ? MS
  19. Not really practical if you need place stuff over mules or stuck the bags in to the Fiat Uno or smaller while you are 3 man crew with all the baggage , so ,I'm looking for much flexible solution then few storm cases I already have . MS
  20. I"m trying to figure out the best way to carry some delicate stuff with me in the air and later to very difficult and humid location ,documentary gig . Any one use these to carry zeppelins and mixer /recorder ? http://www.petrolbags.com/Camera-Bags?q=node/131 Regards MS
  21. Try to make a factory reset . If it not helps , you have a problem. MS
  22. The 4061 I have for my Sennheisers 5012 works well with zfr100 , never had the opportunity to check with 900. MS
  23. They are not condensers and I hope Rado will never take your advices . MS
