  1. I tested the units with a 664 and a 633. I think maybe I'm hooked on Lectros noise reduction. I usually have it up at full.
  2. Did a shoot with treehouse builders last winter in Oregon...rain/gortex city. The only saving grace was that they all had beanie style hats on. So the lavs ended up just on the edge of the beanie on their forehead. Total pain in the ass, but it worked.
  3. Hello all. Hope everyone had a great holiday. I was wondering if anyone can reccomend a good sounding hardwired lav. I've been using the Ambient Eumel connector with my universal ta5 cos 11s and I'm getting a pretty loud hiss. Wondering if anyone else has a suggestion to fix this or if they have hardwired lavs they like the sound of....meaning mostly the noise floor is really low. I was considering the Oscar Sound Tech versions as I have a live gig coming up that I need 4 mics for and I don't get asked to do this very much. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers, Andy
  4. Thanks Dave, I use TR-50s with vamps fairly often and have noted your trick of stuffing the foam in between the clip and mic head. Thanks for the references. Will look into this tomorrow. Thank you, Andy
  5. Hello all, I'm wondering what material everyone is using for DIY foam on lavs for wind protection. I'm looking for a source to buy some. Cheers, Andy
  6. How do you guys use hush lavs? I've bought some but never used them. I've seen them used in tie knots before. Do you just put them around the mic between moleskin? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. I am looking for blocks with known issues in Rochester. If I was asked this question about the Bay Area, I would advise against using block 24 and 25 and suggest 20 or 26 as the cleanest blocks for this area. We all know things are not this simple, but generalities about the rf environment from on the ground experience helps. Any rf info from mixers who have worked in Rochester (like Tom's comment above) is appreciated. thank you, Andy
  12. Hello All, l'm shooting in Rochester, NY at the end of the month for a week and I wanted to see if there are any sound mixers who could identify any problematic frequency blocks in that area. Thank you, Andy
