  1. Be nice if metadata could be edited with this - but it doesn't mention it? NAMM preview for JoeCo BlackBox App 17th January 2012 – Control and monitor the BlackBox Recorder or Player from your iPad. http://www.joeco.co.uk/main/news.html#
  2. Last time I used an Alexa a month ago it was not possible to work a separate recorder with record run slaved to the camera because despite the camera being set to record run the output from the timecode out on the 5 pin Lemo remains TOD.
  3. Never had any condensation problems whatsoever with any of my three Schoeps CCM's over many years in all sorts of challenging circumstances. Have condensation problems got something to do with the capsules being interchangeable on the Collette series?
  4. 15Hz - must take a little while to deploy the aeriels
  5. There's a combo version available covers 240 - 960 MHz and 2.35 – 2.55 GHz. http://www.seeedstud....html?cPath=174 This product was added to our catalog on Wednesday 29 February, 2012. I've just ordered one from Seeed who are in Shenzhen China and they were very helpful when I wanted to change my shipping arrangements from free (3 weeks) to EMS (3-5 working days) for $30
  6. Have to agree with Jon - I use carefully managed (mostly) credit cards. Have been caught out once though for a 22 day job abroad for which I'd bought some kit and got 'the' phone call at 11pm before a 5am pickup that morning for the airport!
  7. There's DX - diversity receivers and MX - non-diversity receivers in the EN range http://www.audioltd.com/eng/
  8. Alexandra Park probably? Was there a Palace there?
  9. Something I'd try is to get the Audio receivers much further away from the 744T (a known RF spewer) and you might find they give you much better range.
  10. Apart from the decibels had me wondering what chemicals might be in burning tyre smoke? No one looks bothered about breathing it?
  11. Well 744T is fine if that's all you need so in that sense not obsolete, I owned one from when first released and used it in combination with 442 but started to run up against needing more tracks so I got a Fusion but it simply wasn't fast enough for me for some of the doco stuff I do so got a 788T/CL8 as well, so its 788T for doco and Fusion for drama for me.
  12. News is that SD are working on next generation quantum tunneling wormhole bit recorders so we can all go home early but the unfinished firmware has escaped from the lab .... !

    Polarflex?

Anyone tried Schoeps Polarflex and plugin? http://www.schoeps.d...products/a2pccm "Create novel polar patterns, create novel sound characteristics that elsewhere don’t exist"
  14. I've been very happy with my 4060's used with a radio mic. and haven't felt the need for a presence boost but then I tend to use them when I haven't got to bury them under clothing and in nice calm, indoor, controlled circumstances when quality might be appreciated in addition to intelligibility. I also use them on musical instruments and that's nice to have the option without presence boost. When people are wearing very sheer fabric I look at the seams or their hair and like you try my B6's, (light brown, dark brown), and I have a white DPA.
  15. Cable diameters AFAIK B6 = 1.05mm DPA 4060,4061,4062,4063,4071 = 1.4mm Cos 11 = 2.2mm
  16. Interesting discussion - reminds me that this is available as many probably already know - can a recorder with as many tracks, metadata, timecode get more minimal? The BLACKBOX RECORDER http://www.joeco.co....troduction.html And I've just discovered apparently in development - an app for running it http://www.joeco.co.uk/main/news.html#
  17. 18 hats in 'new content' is that a record?
  18. Would these Transcend 600X be OK? Has anyone used them in a Zaxcom machine? http://www.bhphotovi...sh_Extreme.html
  19. Eavesdropping on the squid world http://www.bbc.co.uk...onment-17117194 Squid could hear sounds in the range of 50Hz to 500Hz; but they are best below 300Hz. It is the same sort of range as fish.
  20. I've got Micron 256 (198) frequencies for UK ch69 in an Excel spreadsheet in ascending order if that might be of any interest/help? The forum won't let me attach it or a csv version for some reason.
  21. Who has faders nearest them with the CL8? The friction on the faders is very light do you not find they get knocked out of position more? I'll try it myself though because having the 788 more clearly visible (on top of the CL8) might be preferable?
  22. Interesting isn't it - the 7506's sound flat, dead, and with poor bass to me - after a while I couldn't stand listening too them any more, went back to HD25's and the world came to life again.....!
  23. Tried to wean myself off HD25's ( 4pairs - Mk1's and Mk2's) because of the very annoying capsule spade connector problem and tried Sony's but hated them so back on HD25's and having to wrestle with the connector problem every now and then. This problem has existed for a long time and why a company like Sennheiser with it's resources hasn't addressed it properly and sorted it out long ago is a mystery to me...... I think Sennheiser did try by making the connector pins round (instead of flat blades) and gold plated (instead of aluminum) on the Mk2's but I was dismayed after a while to find they were just the same! You'd think it can't be that difficult......
