  1. Works with Epic Dragon, C300, 5D, 7D. Sync test: 8h against 664 - under one frame offset. All 4 I have the same, so they are very precise under each other.
  2. I work a lot with timecodebuddy and C300. Picture is also 1 Frame behind. At least ambient has on their tiny lockits a feature to do an offset. Wish timecodebuddy will implement this as well.
  3. Hi Bash, I totally understand you, esp. for that much cash. But the CMIT has also a bit more selfnoise than an MKH 416 for example. Outside I would say that in most cases city ambience covers the selfnoise if not in remote nature (Thats where my MKH 70 shines with 5dbA on nature sounds). Selfnoise to me is much more obvious on my Sennheiser HD-25 compared to my Speakers. So what do you use as your main shotgun? Specs say: MKH 8060 11 dbA KMR 81i 12 dbA MKH 416 13 dbA Super CMIT Channel 1 14dbA Super CMIT Channel 2 16 dbA CMIT 14 dbA CMC MK 41 15 dbA 4017b 13-15 dbA CS 3 15 dbA
  4. how would you compare the noise floor of the CMIT compared to the super CMIT? I did not compare to an CMIT. But the processed vs the unprocessed channel seem about equal in noise floor. The processed one was a bit lower level on ambiences (maybe 2dB) due to reduced hum of the city. From past experience I would guess noisefloor is about the same as CMIT. I did not do more digital gain as 35dB on my 664 because it got too much selfnoise then. Most of the time I was at 29dB IIRC. For very quiet recordings / sounds I would recommend something else than a Schoeps. More like Sennheiser MKH 50 or 70. For speech and outside city ambience/birds its defenitely ok.
  5. I used this mic for the first time on a one week job for a female host outside and in churches. These are my findings: Depending on the playback device in different situations I'd prefer different channels. Sometimes lav, processed (always Setup 1) or even unprocessed. On my Sennheiser HD 25 heaphones on set sometimes the processed channel sounds a bit artificial. No artefacts just not that round and relaxed than unprocessed. But for example outdoors 20m behind a big fountain or with a distant road hum it was certainly best. Could be the little delay mixing with onset sound sneaking through headphones. On the macbook speakers I did not like the processed SuperCMIT. Here I would prefer the lav to the CMIT most of the times, EQ it in post and put some ambiences to it. On my ADAM AUDIO A5 monitors at home I like the SuperCMIT processed much more. In general the processed channel seems to loose a bit low end when the mic is close. It works to reduce certain ambiences like a little bit reverb in churches or constant hum of water or road noise. But expect no wonders - I'd say it could make it like 10-20% better. And sometimes this makes a big difference, sometimes not at all. I am still a bit confused with my findings on the playback devices.

  7. Well I just can say I am very happy with the sound and pickup pattern of my AKG CK63. Price in Euro-land was only a little bit more than the audix. Its a bit long though for low ceilings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  8. Head seems not to be bigger than 4071. Cable is. Just another standard 4060 obsolete (cable break at head) - if they didn't sound that nice... Newer standard 4060 have a little cable reinforcement just under the capsule (about 5-7mm long) which do not make them bigger and still fit the standard concealer. Called DPA todays and they assured that a concealer for the heavy duty will come. He suggested to watch some newer stresstest videos:
  9. Actual Promo is 209 $ including harness. The dividers have been like this before - there should be a Velcro to cover the open end and have a double velcro to stick to the side. The cable holes have been like this 10 years ago and have never been a problem of damaging my old bag. I haven't used them anyway. The bad glueing and not proper folding is a concern to me. I hope that is a onetime problem. Nevertheless at that price I will give it a try.
  10. audio technica bad range - guessed 15m or 49ft: audio technica great range - up to 220ft or 67m:

  13. Well recently is a wide timespan to Sound devices as it seems. Wrote in their forum 8 month ago about it and here too in May 2014: That was quite soon after their action to take Transcend on their list. Feedback was get warranty exchange from Transcend and no further response. But I weren't alone... That word recently annoys me in that message.
  14. I never got around the limiters operation in the 664. What I can tell is that the input limiters are more descret than the output limiters which I don't like. Wonder if the input limiters on the 633 are the same analog and after that digital or if the input limiters are in the digital section.
  15. 128-bit encrypted digital transmission sent on two channels simultaneously that could mean its a new way of diversity - sending two channels instead of one. could be the reason for that 100m claim http://www.newsshooter.com/2015/01/21/rode-announces-the-rodelink-digital-wireless-system-and-new-professional-shotgun-microphones/
  16. Price of the old unit was something like 4600€ plus tax. It had only one unbalanced stereo line out 3,5mm / TA3 afaik. I wonder if touchscreen is really working for the metadata.
  17. Vince - I blame you for spending almost 800€. you are guilty - and thanx for that :-)
  18. I once met a guy that had a broken 633 LCD after traveling with it in a pelicase. He did not use the provided screen protector. I guess a iphone foil woudn't have helped and its also good to protect that corner when travelling. Nevertheless the original one is bad for visibility. I even thought of putting an antireflektive foil on that one but did not do it.
  19. They Need 150 more Sets or 300 boxes to sell within 27 days. That needs some Good luck. A tc Box incl. Cable and sync software for only 190€ would be so nice. I Hope they make it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  20. just use scissors to get rid of it if you don;t like :-) I used that pocket for the furry or tape on other portabrace bags. But previously it was in the front and not to the body... for the weight: orca or-30 is 1,78kg Ao-1x is 1,36kg If orca measures with strap (which I do not know) they are about the same as the HB-1040 strap is 0,39kg. Nevertheless nice leightweight. But AO1x is bigger (except height) an the Orca Strap looks like being not so comfy. I like Boombooms Idea for the vinyl of the sidepockets to start on top of the bag to protect NP1 from rain.
  21. Ambient Emesser for price and size and weight Sennheiser MKH 30 for lowest selfnoise
  22. Feedback The shoot was today and I had no issues with the 416 / 664 while the c300 had Problems with its Monitor. Did not had to use Wireless where the Heavy magnetic area was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  23. We are allowed to shoot there - just I have no idea if certain mics are better than other. I will Take my 416 / Tram / DPA 4060 anyway and Wonder if I should Rent something additional. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
