  1. Has anybody experience shooting in an aluminium factory in an highly magnetic area? Concerned. About the mics and wireless ... Gesendet von meinem GT-I8150 mit Tapatalk 2
  2. Great news :-) The modifications like waterproof bottom and fold away plastic are well thought. +1 If I had a nomad I'd buy one for sure. And for 552 I think that would be my choice. 788 as well. But for 633 / 664 thats not my way to go. If you need a betatester for AO 1 (without NP Bellypocket ;-) ) I would be happy to test and send some nice fully loaded pics. Is here anybody that would use the pocket to the belly for an NP-1? I think vertical on the sides is more helpful for getting through tight doors etc.
  3. exactly - just by 1 or 2 cm. With time the front bag bends a bit down (when loaded) on my old Ao 1.5 so it touches ground always first. And this I don't like. Its not protected as the main compartment is - so I don't put transmitters in there. I would do it on all the outer pockets incl. flansk like that. For instance if the floor is wet / dirty... edit: And I would not put plastic feet under main compartment. Adds weight and cordura is strong enough.
  4. Do you have an expected timeframe to deliver the new bags? To me the front pouch needs not to be much deeper than the rear pocker now is. The idea of letting the front pouch not go to the bottom (for not touching ground) isn't what you liked? Thanx
  5. That rear pocket to the belly looks huge. Does it fold flat? I'd prefer to not have it at all. I guess a np1 in that pouch feels not so nice. The flap on the front pouch looks a little too big too. Curious about the Accessory storage in front pocket And about the AO 1.0x :-) with 633 inside. I hope on that one the front pouch will be less big. And curious how to get to the Media slot on that one. I'd prefer a horizontal flap.
  6. Thanx for all the input. For the moment I got it cleaned by wet towels / wet car upholstery wipes. It looks much better but still some smell. Will try machine wash in 30 degree Celcius wool program as soon as I get it back. Or the bucket method. Btw: I ruined walking shoes in 60 degree normal washingprogram to get rid of gasoline smell. It released a glue that held the fabric together that wasn't stiched. And once a I had my Euipment rented out in to a shoot on pig farming. That smell was nearly impossible to get rid of on some rubber parts. Febreeze and so on - forget it.
  7. I have a Portabrace Audio Organizer and the Harness with the memory foam. Both of them need some serious cleaning as it was used 24h on a fishing boat and got quite some shit from seagulls. Portabrace website is blocked by my Antivirus Program for some time now - so I ask here: Did anybody put his Portabrace Audiobag in the washing machine? Which temp - powder? And how about the AH-3H-MEMM with the memory foam?
  8. Coloration of sound I only have really experienced with the Combination of Schoeps cmit with the rycote modular blimp. I prefer Sennheiser mzw 60-1. Old Rode with MKH 416 Sounds Fine to me. No experience with Cinela which could be the best of all as of threads here a Time ago. BTW: the lyre System did not Show significant improvement on handling noise to me. 9. Hi margus You Mean the AW Sounds better with a lav than an lectrosonics with a lav? Which lavalier did you test? Which lectrosonics tx? I had a similar experience with a dpa 4061 lectrosonics LMa 411 versus my own DPA 4061 and micron SDR 116 tx716. Lectrosonics sounded thinner (less bass) and a Little less detailed. But i thought it was Down to the rental House and the stuff Wasn't well maintained. Tried several DPA with no better result. Please Share your experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  10. I do docu as well a Lot. The soundman mics have the windproblem and are a Bit hissy as well. And you can't Monitor while having them in your ear. So I went through some stereorecorders for atmos tascam dr-40 - a Bit too much hiss, mics average Sony pcm-d 10 - no hiss, very sensitive but too dull for the Mix Sony pcm d 50 - finally Good Stereo mics but Wind sensitive - needs a " windjacket" and is now my quick Stereo Solution http://thewindcutter.com/shop/index.php?route=product/category&path=179 For a bigger Doc i tested rode Nt-4 vs audio technica bp 4025 and the 4025 won by far. More Bass and much better left right Separation. Very sensitive - no hiss in quiet places. Needs a blimp and lowcut at 80hz for on the move. Made me smile a few times. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/602082-REG/Audio_Technica_BP4025_BP4025_X_Y_Stereo_Field.htmlhttp://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/602082-REG/Audio_Technica_BP4025_BP4025_X_Y_Stereo_Field.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  11. For a Scanner get a cheap rf Explorer http://rfexplorer.com/models/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  12. The founder and engineer of audio Wireless was the Developer at micron Wireless for years. I use the 16ch micron for years now and think they are Great Bang for the Buck. Build quality (transmitter) isn't that strong lets say lectrosonics or Sennheiser sk 50 but much cheaper. Sonically very Good. Receiver very Good. Antenna Indicator Show Even the very little spill a 552 produces (no squelch). Once transmitters on all Fine. From what i found Out speaking to AW Build quality should be quite improved. 13. For the different side options adam I Love your idea of a simple flap (covered with a Pocket) over the cable Tunnels. I Run only one cable Out each side Most of the Time. If its velcroed vertically in the middle i would Run that cable below the velcro Out. Would make also Sense for the ao1 for 633 to Access card door. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  14. for this side module without pockets on the cabletunnel you could also use an access solution to the XLR like on the CS-633 with softer material. I think access would be a lot easier. Or do you see an advantage I don't see? While may be not that rugged I also see an advantage of less dust and dirt coming in the sides. BTW: I like your idea for longer rainvinyl. I use it on a rental Kortwich bag to hold a blimp on top of the mixer while shoulder-carrying. Or I put it all the way over the front pocket while working in heavy rain. That could get in the way though when holding normal with the handles. Therefore it would be cool if it was extendable (with your new vinyl pocket?) / double foldable with velcro in the middle or could be slipped in next to an handle.
  15. I see no velcro on the pics to fix it. Is it hold by magnets? And the zippered Version is not availible as special order? And how much is the weight without strap?
  16. After strolling around this lovely forum for a few hours I found a thread regarding a 633 problem. Solution was reloading firmware. So I tried that as well with a factory default - and voila it worked :-) Making all my adjustments to the default values - trying a second format and again Media I/O :-( Did repeat the process two times. Every second format = Media I/O warning. My SanDisk Extreme SDXC 45MB/s 64GB formats just fine...
  17. yepp they ship abroad. And if there is demand for a 4ch or 6ch version I would definitely ask them how chances are that they do that as well. 2ch and 3ch is already there. I think another reason for TA3 is that you would need that cable anyway if you go directly in 633 Ch4-6 or 664 Ch7-12. And it saves weight. the online shop is not that great; they sell much more than that - throw them an email. I have best experience with them. Kortwich is beneath Ambient recording the second biggest company for our sound stuff in Germany (Gruppe 3 aside).
  18. I wait for feedback from Sounddevices but wanted to warn others to not buy these cards in the meantime...
  19. I bought two new 32GB Transcend SD cards that were new on Sound Devices approved media list. Transcend; SDHC; Class 10; 32 GB: Part # TS32GSDHC10 On the back it says 9181AA 32G 090S2 Its the blue plastic one with the dark label. So not the TS32GSDHC10U1 one. One format a week ago was fine. Now I wanted to use it and both cards do not format anymore - after a while there is an Media I/O warning - Format failed on both cards. Useless. Firmware on 664 : 2.02 My Sony Digicam runs smooth with it and a sector check under Windows 7 resulted in no errors. Write speed 11,5 MByte/s http://www.amazon.de/Transcend-Extre.../dp/B003VNKNF0
  20. About the Stingray: There are pictures here with a zipperd front pouch. i guess this is a preproduction one and not availible as k-tek homepage shows open front? And the rain cover only covers main compartment and not front "pouch"?
  21. Mike you are right - that is a it depends. But a 5-8 Ch Recorder needs at least wireless Tx & RX, lavs, headphone, cables, and battery - right? ;-) And fully loaded shows what the designer wanted it for. I still have some velcro strings on bags where I have no clue what they are meant for. I definitely don't want to argue about your lovely "it depends" - there are so many variables on top of the mentioned. But you made me curious and I will check the "show me your bag" pictures once more. Its long ago I went there.
  22. I have the impression Adam will be able to manage that. Not or only half rigged up is no good marketing to me. I want to see how much I can get in there in a compact lightweight setup. I know pictures of lots of cables hanging around aren't that nice but the reality. It also gives an impression of professionalism. Maybe a fully packed setup to totally unpack could be a nice video ;-)
  23. btw: I saw a cool idea to store lavs in a compact way: A padded camerafilterbag for 4 coiled lavs and inside the guy put another small key pouch for the accesories. all in all the size of an receiver holding 4 lavs incl. accessories.
  24. actually I would not show a AO 1.5 with an 633 / Maxx - it looks oversized for them to me. At least unless you have a smaller version for these - could lead to the impression there will be no compacter version. And I would suggest to do fully rigged up pics with 4 wireless receiver & transmitter, hop or coiled cable, lavs, headphone, NP1... Like the pic of the vinyl pouch with the topstick / overcovers. Thats very good to give the idea behind. Thats whats missing on competitors websites...
  25. Hi Adam, I think it is a very good idea to show your bags with different mixers. The AO 1.5 is perfect size for an 552. I used my old 1.5 with it and the slightly larger width was great for lifting 552 up to get access to media slot below. The measurements could lead to wrong bag decisions - height 552: 6,6 and AO 1.5: 6. But as of your picture the bag is the proper height - as my experience is. I even put my 664 in the AO 1.5 and its possible even when measurements say no. But here it needs more height and better access to media slots and is therefore not so great. I guess you will make an AO for that mixer size as well. For the NP1 compartment I hope you do it not too tight so that an Hawkwoods Adapter with Hirose would fit also on top of an NP1 as there are switches on the not shown side and it can't be buried in below. Right now I have it in the main compartment but would love to put it to the side. And against confusing issus - please do give them another name. like 5D Mk2 / Mk3 maybe. But no one should get confused if they order a new or an older model.
