  1. Thanks for posting Bouke. Is this the link for the recorder?: https://www.videotoolshed.com/product/recorder/
  2. No, I didn't mean the tentacle recorder – Track E. For 1, i'm not so interested in remote recorders (TC or otherwise) and as much as i like what Tentacle did with their sync boxes i was disappointed the Track E could not be used as TC box as well – seemed like no brainer to me but maybe 32bit makes up for that - maybe Tentacle rethink this a bit with a firmware or a new device.
  3. Flip-flops are great way for the feet to uncompress after wearing shoes all day and anyway sometimes you got live on the edge a little
  4. 👍 If i had Ultrasync ones already i'd probably concur. But if i was buying TC only units (right now) it would be 1 of the Ambient offerings (which I'm more used to) or the Tentacle. For me the BP-TRX are (hopefully) the right thing at the right time. Some of my clients want TC, others a scratch track, a few want both and some don't know what they want These go in the bag, cover those bases (in a 2.4GHz kind of way:) and give me an easy 'go to' with a last minute request. Of course if the client wants to pay for UHF camera hops I can supply these too - but I'd rather not carry UHF camera hops around in the bag 'just in case'.
  5. Got the time code kit, seems ok. My primary use is for TC to 2 cameras - for which these seem fine so far. The TC is not transmitted (as far as I can make out) so jam to master with cable and it will do the job whatever happens to the wireless signal. I have a feature request: Is it possible to allow the USB feature to function when unit is set to at least 1 of the receiver modes. eg "hop", "iem" or "RX". This would a nice way to get sound from a recorder/mixer into laptop or phone where cables are just a real pain. ta.
  6. Hi Andrew, Can I check with you a few small detail: Lets say I'm using the 'Time Code Kit' (2 units, cables etc) for TC and camera hop (ie 1 unit with the recorder sending audio and TC to the other 1 on the camera) – if there are problems with the signal/ RF space/ range between the 2: ~ Will the camera mounted unit carry on as before regarding TC? (I guess the units have their own TC generator but I'm wondering how the units handle the situation described). ~ Will it automatically re-jam with the recorder mounted unit when back in range? Regards, Dan.

  8. Daniel, my apologies. It must have been wishful thinking as I can't find the reference to octopack working with MCR54. 😔
  9. Raycom mention using an MCR54 with an Octopack - similar perhaps?
  10. nice film and mostly decent road surface! https://www.theguardian.com/environment/bike-blog/2011/aug/15/cyclists-paved-way-for-roads
  11. I imagine this is probably the biggest barrier for most North Americans (and many others) when it comes to commuting by bike. So many cities seem to have evolved around freeways and parking lots it would take a sea change in infrastructure, city layout and economics to reduce car dependency meaningfully.
  12. So jealous. My dream job. I see great pic of you doing some skills on a BMX as well. Some study i read suggested the pollution in traffic effected drivers more. Because the car fills up with the stuff and your lungs aren't moving the air in and out as much and in heavy traffic the car will mean you are in it longer. I've seen folks cycling in Vegas, traffic didn't look to bad but the heat was another thing.
  13. I bet more people die a day in the USA from not cycling than do from cycling.
  14. Maybe USB in RX (receiver) mode? USB in TX mode?
  15. I've got an OTG USB-C to lightning cable which will connect Zoom F6 to an iphone and ipad. Like you say it is dependent on the app (and the OS). If BP-TRX can wirelessly receive audio in sound card mode? - being able to wirelessly, digitally get a mix into internet connected devices would be a nice feature.
  16. Will BP-TRX O/P via USB to smart phone/tablet? Sorry if this has been asked already.
  17. rycote fur nose bag: https://images.app.goo.gl/iPsrAEcGw7gCBFsV7
  18. I am looking forward to seeing these. Probably quite good for me if it works as advertised. Only 4(?) receivers in IEM mode though and 2.4ghz. Analogue Sony RX have normal HP O/Ps: https://images.app.goo.gl/CNXoCm17p6eiaNf5A Older versions are really cheap to pick up.

  20. Or buy a Deity BP-TRX instead - a bit tongue in cheek but there is an overlap in function.
  21. I 'liked' the post but TBF the latency thing is isn't so bad on any system at 6 metres unless someone is shouting, but it is annoying when you're closer to the source, like testing TX on your own voice 😂.
  22. Descript looks really interesting! Are there any audio search tools for finding 'quiet', atmos's or room tones within files or even folders?
  23. Hey Trouvier, In my experience Power Banks are not significantly cheaper than np-f 'L' batteries (per Wh). 'L' batts fit directly to 6 / 8 series recorders and some have USB I/O. Very versatile. The USB to Hirose cables are a good idea to have in back up or for a static rig but as secure as the Hirose end of the cable is, the USB end of the cable isn't and USB panel connectors get easily damaged. I use a HW battery mount in my bag to O/P 12 volts if needed from L series batteries and many bag devices will work from 7.2 anyway (eg MCR42). For c. cost of 1 Audioroot 96Wh battery you can buy nearly 6x 56Wh L series batteries - 3 times more power, 6 times more redundancy and you can double all those numbers as real world usage means you need at least 2 batteries packs (however good the brand is) as it would be 'suicide' otherwise. PBs are cheap but as your primary powering you are committing to a system totally reliant on a flakey connector. As a BU it's very good value though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RC1TG2B/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B07RC1TG2B&pd_rd_w=zwmPD&pf_rd_p=1055d8b2-c10c-4d7d-b50d-96300553e15d&pd_rd_wg=mUl7S&pf_rd_r=89S995Y486R5N6M2GXYP&pd_rd_r=0436e4db-5fbe-49f9-ad5f-b8ca8073dfce&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEySEgxSklNSkE2WFlEJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODU0NDA5MVZXNzlQWkE1WU5MSSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjM3Njg1OFVUOVZIRENLVTFOJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfZGV0YWlsJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
