  1. Great meeting everyone last night. I Enjoyed the camaraderie of the group.
  2. I tried a 32x400 transcend and it does not work.
  3. I've got one of these and have never been successful. It seams to amplify the sound of close rubbing against the cage. I'm sure it's user error though
  4. I'm remembering the whale wars for hire post and saw this on fb from the producer. http://i-was-waving-not-drowning.tumblr.com/
  5. Is 24/96 just marketing on these pocket devices? I'm bummed this has 96 but my 664 doesn't : )
  6. I've been using Sandisk 64gb sd 30mbs cards. Tried other transcend sd/cf cards with no success. Been recording 10-12 tracks 6-8 hours last 4 days with one screen freeze but it kept recording. I'd say stick to manufacture recommendations. Not worth it. Great machine.
  7. Thanks ill make one up. Any knowledge why this would happen? Would it be because aux gets power through different fuse than radio? Different ground placement in the car? I thought I understood ground loops fairly well so wondering what I'm missing. Also trying to learn more about instrument ground loop issues( playing through multiple amps and pedals). Thanks
  8. Thought you guys would have a suggestion. I play music through the aux channel/headphone out of my iphone. While playing with various car chargers I always get a pretty noise ground loop (not sure what to call when a car is involved). I drive a newer car so don't think it's crappy power. I assume most non audio people don't hear it. Any recommendations?
  9. Nice Alan Good show chap. thanks for the invite.
  10. Sweet! I got a baritone and a Godin synth guitar! BIg helpers 50pmg car 664/cl6 sm's and the iphone app DSM monitors and new room treatment wow zack!
  11. Oh max that's a bummer I hear that place sucks! Kevin!
  12. An article that might be of interest states "The rate of gun deaths is negatively correlated with states that ban assault weapons, require trigger locks, and mandate safe storage requirements for guns." http://www.theatlant...-violence/4171/ If the guns were locked up this might not have happened. Granted heroin is illegal and people still have access. Honestly I don't see why people have guns except for sport. Does anyone really think we can protect ourselves from our government at this point in time if needed? If giving up your sport (specifically semi automatic weapons) would lower the chances of some waco easier access to killing people wouldn't you?
  13. I brought a h4n to those same places. Wish I had a nice handheld shock mount because rarely did I want to leave it on the ground, or put it on a stand. The one that comes with the h4n is defiantly a step up from holding the unit itself though. 2c
  14. I was in the middle of no where on a farm north of San Francisco and had similar experience. Voodoo I tell ya!
  15. hmm not sure how that works. I can't imagine a rental house would offer that, would they?
  16. Sorry Philip I see, "throwing money" not such a good phrase. how about "giving money without responsibility or partnership" for example lending a tripod on a specific date is taking on a specific responsibility and may give more ownership/partnership? As far as attractiveness example: I have a 10'x10 canopy someone gave me and wouldn't mind lending out, more so because I like the idea of recycling as much as we can in making movies. I know it helps our economy to buy stuff though. Thanks for responses. I'm interested in everyone's thoughts on this. I thought the first response would be something about rates. Have many of you worked on a kick starter crowd funding ect. project? Am I gathering a census that many of you are not in support of crowd funding ect. or seed & sparks methods?
  17. Well Philip I think the goal is to get people involved. I think they want people to support the projects by taking stock and part responsibility in its success more so than just throwing money at them.
  18. Seed and Spark is up and running! http://www.pbs.org/p...m/#.ULpLOuS5OSp
  19. I've had mine for over a year. Runs 744t/442 2-4 lectros more than half day. Have not scene performance degradation yet. Had to re solder charger end but otherwise good value comparatively.
  20. I'm number 21 at my vendor and I ordered the Monday after it came out. I've been told they've sent out 6. I'd rather they make'm right rather than send out models that need revisions. Completely understand manufacturing complexities in our highly specialized field. I'm thinking of pulling the switch, anodizing it pink, then glueing a 68 fender knob to the top for fun ( I prefer the SD joystick to the nomad by far btw)
  21. Transcript associates offers a free software called press. It creates a c2 file (I think.) I bet most houses take these files. http://tscripts.com/info_press
  22. I'm surprised majic lantern is not mentioned nor is not used by more professionals as it helps audio department by giving more input options and live meter viewing(depending on camera).
  23. Oh no I love my, imac, mac book, ipad, iphone, ipod, and hope soon to get some i-nanobots inserted into my brain to rid me of my lazy, inept, etc.. Trex does er uh...suck, except for the part where it says report excepted and you get a check in the mail.
