  1. I almost purchased an 815T, but I did research that the 816T is repairable through sennheiser..but not the 815T. But I can't find any literature about the 816TF.
  2. I recently purchased a Nagra 4.2 and I'm looking to buy an 816T to use with it. I have located an 816TF on eBay an I don't know what the "F" means. Does anybody have any insight on the 816TF as opposed to the 816T?
  3. i spoke out of line, no scam. thanks for the help guys.
  4. The included one, i like it...protects the screen and stops direct impact on the screen if something falls on the screen.

  6. Petrol Deca 601 bag. It's a little big for my taste, but it's a good fit.
  7. No issues with blk 19 and 21 SRBs in bag.
  8. Now only if they update the x1/x2 outputs to mirror the L/R bus....
  9. Hold the left rotary encoder down while flipping the channel selection switch and it'll keep you listening to your L/R mix in your headphones. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  10. sell yourself, not the gear....and if that doesn't work buy a CMIT5U and distract everybody with a flashy blue microphone. on another note regarding the new gear like the 633, I had a job last week that requested 2 788T kits with 5 wireless and a boom each....i supplied a 788T kit and a 633 kit...and billed for 2 788T kits.
  11. One show I worked on the director requested 2 IFB feeds, one for my mix...and the other with all the wires up pre fade. He wanted to be able to switch back and forth and "spy" on contributors to the show. I charged for another IFB transmitter and took the paycheck...I might have sold my soul on that one.
  12. I just got off a realty show with 2 teradeck cube 155. Here are the Teradeck setting I'm aware that we used. 240i 15 frames per second Infrastructure mode These setting were fast enough to mix with. We had to log into a dedicated wifi network that was established at the beginning of show....this is know as "infrastructure" mode. It worked great, here's what I discovered. Infrastructure mode allows users to simultaneously view more than one stream when using the teraview app. This worked great as long as your iOS device has the newer chips. Older devices, or devices with older chips (newest iPod touch, iPad mini (non-retina) don't allow for 2 video steams simultaneously. The director had an iPhone 5s, which worked great. My iPhone 5 worked fine, and the iPod touch and iPad mini worked, but not as well and only allowed for one steam. The newest iPad mini with retina, iPad air, and iPhone 5s are the best options. At any given point we would have 2 laptops streaming both teradecks, the director on his iPhone, me on my iPhone, and a pa on 2 iPad mini's to view both streams. Never changed the latency.
  13. The Lectrosonics R1A are great also because of the ability to program them and switch between different channel presets.
  14. I have a headphone mix setup to monitor l/r mono sum in one ear and I can monitor any other source off camera in the other. It's more to protect my equipment and cue for anybody about to walk into a scene....not for eavesdropping purposes. I believe in privacy, but I also do a lot of low rent reality TV, where everything is recording all the time. Off camera stuff is gold to some folks...mostly post.
  15. I used a comtek m-216 and pr-216 system for a long time. Heard great things, personally had a bad experience with multiple comtek systems and ditched then completely. Recently upgraded to using a lectrosonics SMv in IFB mode with lectrosonics r1a receivers and love it. The system is mono, I typically choose the best source to send or send a mix.
  16. I wanted to start a thread for the funny things talent say about sound mixers when they don't realize we are still listening. On set of a reality show today a disgruntled talent said the following as we were interviewing another talent outside. "If these mics were the real thing they use on TV and not these cheap little things, the we wouldn't have to turn down the damn TV." -using Lectrosonics SMQV tx and sanken cos-11,

  21. I put my 633 to test for the past few days and discovered its an amazing machine. The faders 4-6 were my biggest concern for the mixer/recorder. Just as others have mentioned the faders are easy to access and use despite their size. I own a 788T which i love. I use the 788T/CL8 with 3 SRB5P in a Deca 601 bag from Petrol on a daily basis, its a tight but nice fit. Everything on the 633 is straightforward, 3 mic/line inputs, 3 line only inputs, stereo XLR outs, 2 TA3 outs, 1/8 out, 1/8 return bus, and wow....10 tracks of recording with timecode. I built the 633 in a 601 bag as well, pretty much a direct swap with the 788T other than some of the interface cables between the SR's and the 633. Its a very nice fit, but since the bag can fit a 788T which I'm used to, it seems like it has a lot of space. I would like a small bag that fits just the recorder and 2 SR receivers, maybe even the Quad pack setup from lectrosonics. The X1, X2 outputs are not capable of mirroring the L/R as they have no matrix capabilities. You have to individually route each track to the output to get a copy of the L/R mix bus. I would like to keep a camera snake in line on the XLR outs and a set of stereo hops using the TA3, this a little tricky at the moment. But being that the 633 is an all digital mixer this could be added with a firmware update. The X3,X4 output matrix is great and would be an awesome tool if they allowed this on the balanced X1, X2 outputs. The X3, X4 outputs have great routing options and can have anything bussed to them, it just happens to be on a stereo 1/8 mini which i don't feel comfortable utilizing for hops....IFB/Comteks are fine. Other than having Ambient Clock It Network capabilities built in and and a way to control the machine via an IOS device as the CL-WI allows with the 788T, this machine is perfect. Great for a throwdown bag, documentary travel kit, and a lot of other scenarios where small and powerful fit the bill. I got 6 hours on 1 NP1, 2 SRB5P receivers, a boom with 48v phantom power the channel, and recording 6 tracks. Its definitely not a replacement for my 788T/CL8 combo but its a killer machine for everything else that doesn't involve the 788T.
