  1. loving that mini cart, did you try changing out the wheels by any chance?
  2. does having an older lectro receiver affect the quality of the audio or is that entirely up to the transmitter? curious about this lma/ucr100 set up
  3. I've been told audio engineering is dead (they even cancelled the major at my former college years ago), why not just pursue on the job training like Jack suggested? **little spelling error there
  4. Wow I can't stop laughing reading this thread, you guys are hilarious
  5. Haha, well yeah that totally makes sense now silly me (new constructing anything) thanks for your response Jeff, hopefully Ill be able to post the outcome of my vertical cart soon.
  6. Hey Jeff, I just had a quick question, been looking to build my own vertical cart soon, I've been reading old threads about your new follow cart, the 80/20 material, and all that jazz. Anyway my question was, after youve got the framing down, excuse me for sounding naive but what did u use for the base of the shelf and how is it secured onto the frame? Thanks in advance!
  7. would anyone be down to post a sound bite of the TL-40 being used
  8. Everyone talks about the cs3e and how great it is, i think the only issue with me is its sensitivity to bad weather, i know a couple people had some issue with theirs here on the forum. i mean if i had to choose one mic for both indoor/outdoor id choose that my only problem is choosing between the 416 vs the 60 (tubby? tinny?), is this the 416's self noise only obvious on the t powered ones? seems like the only con for the 416 is the narrow polar pattern
  9. mannn i totally know how that feels, i hate it. i come to find that putting the boom under my versaflex harness in the back slung like a sword it holds between my back and harness gives me enough time to wire, otherwise i have to put it down or i kindly ask the person to hold my boom for a sec (bad i know) i would love an alternative
  10. There is always some fun when the 2nd calls slate, like this for example,
  11. Regarding those mixer slates, I get so close to that slate mic just to record myself doing the slate lol, sometimes people think im talking to myself because they arent aware there is a mic on the mixer, sometimes I use it to talk to the boom operator.
  12. "I need to B my L on someone's face" omg so freaking hilarious. RVD, I wasn't expecting such a long response but thank you! That gag reel was just so freaking hilarious, even the boom made a cameo. I'm glad it was such a great experience, one of my few fav scenes include Paul Rudd, that guy is just too funny (when he gave Jason his Hawaiian name) But I remember when i watched it for the first time, I was amazed as to how little of the waves crashing on the beach could be heard, especially during the scene where Jason steps off into the beach to meet the hawaiian worker from the hotel to have a beer. It was basically nonexistent. Anyway thanks for sharing your experience, I wasnt expecting a well written response and I thank you for taking the time to respond I'm sure if I was there I would probably just laugh nonstop the adlibs are too funny. To get back on track, a movie I would of loved to work on would be Silence of The Lambs, Ted Levine's iconic scene during Goodbye Horses and Anthony Hopkins amazing portrayal of Hannibal Lecter, its just too good!
  13. I am loving this thread, learning a lot about rates which makes me think twice about the jobs ive been taking. I was always hesitant to charge more for my services, for some reason I thought having higher grade equipment would constitute charging more but like senator says, its not about the arrows. Thanks for the valuable information guys, I hope it keeps comin
  14. man they need to open one in california already, great video tho!
  15. RVD, how was mixing Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Must of been nonstop laughter, love that movie.
  16. Tell us how you made it! Atleast the materials! I wanna see some more pictures
  17. To answer your question, Im running a HDP2 with a 302 in a petrol pegs 2 bag and it fits well, would love more room but it does the job But to get back on track, but ive seen my buddies rock the Petrol Deca Bags with the 3 dividers and they said it was kooo
  18. lmfao!!! the sound guy HAD to be naked. good post!
  19. Unfortunately I didn't work on the stage with them just the segments they presented, I heard hes a real nice guy and Teller actually has a lot to say! I did a few segments for the show and one of them was the one in Venice Beach, it was such a terrible environment, they had military helicopters going up and down the beach, the boardwalk was blasting music, im just glad the outcome sounded great haha.
  20. I just finished watching the premiere of an episode of a show I worked on (Penn and Teller: Tell A Lie), it's my first time seeing my work on TV, it was very surreal, very cool to see, and just very exciting moment overall. Do you guys remember the first time you guys saw/heard your work on the tube?
  21. Thanks for clearing that up for me Senator, the talk of wireless makes my head spin.
