  1. As a Nova2 owner i sadly would not suggest it for music : it's a amazing machine for dialog but i found that its neverclip can't handle sustained bass sound ( swiching to the second preamp produce an audible click..) never had a problem in a real world situation but it's quite easy to reproduce and in a music situation it would really scare me as the only fail safe would be to never reach the neverclip threshold ( -3dbFS if no ISO attenuation is engaged and this threshold is lowered by the same value of the iso attenuation you dial on your tracks .) Quite easy to avoid in most situation but nevertheless it's dangerous.. on my personal test only the the nova2 has this flaw , Nomad and nova1 are fine ...( i think their analog stage are quite similar ) but If somebody has managed to record music with a nova 2 without encountering this problem i will be gald to hear it and reassure myself..
  2. digging this thread form the ages..on wich position should i set a TS 3 for 23,98?? jaming from a nomad or tentacles box. position 4 "Auto " seems to work but the dial seems pretty confusing to me since there is no 23,98 position... Thanks
  3. I could be wrong but this antenna looks absolutely wrong for an Audio Ltd...for any HF radio mic in fact.., So replacing might be a good idea..
  4. Mac can't write on udf but read it just fine , so once your files are copied on your hd you can do whatever you want with it.. Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  5. Thanks a lot for the clarification, Waveagent is still a litte weird sometimes like you described above but waiting a little or relauching it usually solves it.. Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  6. Thanks Richard, +1 , pot assignment presets would be really useful... On an other subject, any of you sx4r+ users have trouble editing metadata of sx4r files with wavagent? On the primary card I get an error message if I hit save . Once files copied on a HD it works but I get ramdomly quite a few error msg or even wavagent goes to hang until a have to force quit..quite scary.. Never had any problems with my nomad files or any other recorder ( even on the card itself) Is the udf files system causing this? Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  7. Did my first day of shooting with a rented sxr4+ today..it sounds fantastic. .but one things bother me : storing mix preset doesn't keep my pot assignment. .if a store a preset , call an other one and come back to first one , pot assignment don't follow..bug? Or is it me missing something ? Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  8. I did use the MPR30 last week..I thought the problem was actually worse because of the absence of aes output. .I had to have the xdcam gain all the way up to get decent level even with the mpr set to 18dbu... I think the tx gain was set at about -36 dB. .anything above would cause the tx to limit even on soft peaks. . What am I doing wrong here ? . Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  9. Hi everyone, I have to use rental wysi quite often when my audio Ltd doesn't fit a location frequency wise. For lav I live wysicom and have no problem what's so ever ..but as hop I never found a way to have decent level on cam without turning the cam input level way to high or hitting compressor or even hitting the clip Led on the tx side..going out line level from my nomad ..pading nomad out level doesn't help. .guys from the rental shop told me to not worry about the clipping Led on the tx but it.make me feel unsafe anyway..any thoughts or tips about that ? 10. Woow! How are we suppose to get the crappy tc from the camera to the sound recorder ? Losing an audio and audio track along the way and maybe dealing with audio bleeding from the ltc..and others more reason to not do things the other way around... Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  11. well , ok, as they say there is more than one way to sync a cat..
  12. Exactly, and no cam ops would dare to complain about a Tentacle..as any decent wireless rx seems even to me awkward to stick on a DSLR..
  13. A little of topic but tentacle sync boxes and software is to me the best tool there is for dslr. ..I did a week long doco style shoot a few months ago with 2 a7s , and everybody was very glad to watch dailies on a laptop in the hotel room with both cam and sound synced less than 10 min after all media were backed up on a Hard drive.. 14. I just shoot there 2 days ago with wysi between 540 to 640 if recall right..no real problem but range was not fantastic at all..better come with wide range .. Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  15. I m considering in hair mic placement on a show I work for too for the very same reason, a bloody noisy white shirt and a lot of chest hair..as I never tried it before I m wandering if with this pacement in some case "head" hair could make noise too? .fast head movement? I have asked more than once to talent with long hair to move theirs hair back a little cause of them scrubbing against the lav. Is the fact that placed at the forehead, hair and mic face the same direction magically solve this issue? Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  16. Thanks a lot Constantin, exactly what I needed ! About the taxes I m not really sure I understand what you are saying in your post..sorry .. Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  17. Hi , I think there is a few German mixers around here. I have to negotiate my rate with a German production company, ( I'm from France) and I don't have a clue of what the usual rate is in germany for a mixer for doco type of shoot. Do you guys in Germany usually have a work contract and salary like us in France or make invoices like our friends from the US? And do you know how much taxes the production company has to pay with the salary? ( in France salary and taxes are pretty much the same..) Thanks .. Lucas Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  18. Tiltle says it all ( tapatalk android 5. something and Samsung S6)

  20. Thanks Jack and Rado. Coming from you guys I think I can stop worrying. .. Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  21. As i learn just from a facebook thread , that we can use non regargable lithium batery , i tried yesterday with some i had laying around for a while, i did a quick test in the evening by just recording for 5 min or so ..seems vey fine..everything stayed cold.. So i went working yesterday , at about 16H when my NP1 went down , i remembered i had the lithium in there so i jtouched the battery door to check the temp..and it was hot! i put the battery sled out and battery where kind hot too..not burning fingers stuff but hot! The nomad boot screen said 107/104 F° ...is this normal? i never really cared about my nomad temp before..
  22. Tentacle sync software is indeed very good but doesn't keep audio handles around the exported video files, but you can export and xml for fcp 7 or première that I think will put all media on a time line. An option to keep all audio or handle would be great. .. Thé software is not free you have to use a tentacle box as a dongle to unlock the sync fonctions. Also if people from tentacle are reading this is think an option to use audio files name instead of video files names would be more than welcome. Applying the tc to the export files too ( for non tc cameras ) Envoyé de mon SM-G920F en utilisant Tapatalk
  23. Twistedwav (keeps TC and metadata )
