  1. Hello all, Anyone have experience with X3, PSC Hydra 6 pack w/DSR4's, and wireless designer or know with certainty about workability ? I know the latest X3 firmware has functionality/control for DSR4's and Hydra. Wondering if the USB connection will allow WD and Hydra control at all even if not simultaneously ? I've heard one at a time (one physically disconnected) which is fine... I'd like to be able to co-ordinate and deploy with Wireless Designer and then monitor/utilize Hydra on X3. Thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks Karl. I did look for this answer in a few places and couldn't find it. Just to be clear, as I don't want the question to get lost in translation. I could create two separate saved connections lists (or frames as I'm understanding the term), one based on ethernet and one based on usb connections correct? Would I be able to have both of these populate one screen simultaneously in WD? Allowing me to coordinate and view all Rx/Tx? If I have my Venue 1's, M2T, and DSQD connected locally via usb and say a couple 822's connected via USB-to-ethernet in a box on set? I don't want one unit to be in both a USB frame and a Ethernet frame, I want USB and Ethernet connections in one frame, or one saved connection to administer from WD. Does that make sense?
  3. It looks like a perfect tool for many workflows. I have a couple questions for Larry and Karl. One-I'm guessing it is possible to use the USB for Wireless Designer connection, I would want to adapt to Ethernet on both ends for a longer run or rugged remote/stage box solution. I should know this, but is it possible to use USB and Network connections simultaneously in one "frame" in WD for a saved connection? i.e local usb on cart with networked remoted units? Two- Any possibility of getting networked audio out of this box? I know it isn't a D2 box, but being able to have two or more of these boxes for remote receivers would be fantastic. Is the USB only for firmware and telemetry for now or future plans for that?
  4. I originally thought "range" as well, but after experimentation and talking with different folks, (Gordon @Lectro, and several very experienced mixers) I believe its a sensitivity with the digital reception in the M2R if you are at all close to a analog/hybrid transmitter. Even on other sides of a body the M2R doesn't do well with that proximity to a tx, and even tuned two or more blocks away...I have two DPR's waiting in a box to test out for boom ops using the M2R. Traditionally been using a MM1 and an smqv, but I think that doesn't play well with the M2R. With both using digital protocols, it should eliminate that issue. We'll see how losing that MM1 limiter does. I was using an SNA 600 also, but getting to locations and having to retune that was just another step, so I'm going to use a Shure UA860SWB omni antenna for the M2T. Again, this is the just the plan... we'll see how it goes.
  5. Looks great Mike! Custom handtruck style? Do you remote your RF receivers? Is that what the snake is for? This is a picture of my mix cart and a couple of the follow cart last year (one before powder coating) It will be a bit different when I ship this time, but basically the same size.
  6. Yes Phillip, I'm moving permanently. Like i mentioned, if it was for a specific job, I'd have production pay for it. Looking into pallet shipping now. A full container would make sense if my wife and I were bringing more personal items, but that isn't going to happen at this moment. I'll take a smaller bag rig with my when I fly but the carts can take a month or more if need be. I'll put desiccants inside some drawers before plastic wrapping. I thought about selling and then buying over there, but I imagine the cost/benefit doesn't work out. I've modified this cart to be how I'd like it. The follow cart is custom as well.
  7. If I was going already booked on a Production, I would definitely have Production do it. I am moving of my own free will and will be taking my gear on my dime.
  8. Hello all, Looking for input. I’m wondering If anyone has some experience sending a sound cart internationally... Specifically to the South Pacific from North America. I have a mix cart that can be mostly disassembled and a custom follow cart that can’t be. Im sure some of you have had production coordinate this. Have any of you done this yourself? Currently thinking about palletizing and shrink wrapping the two carts so they could be shipped freight easier. Wondering if that is the easier option or if utilizing partial container freight is a better option? I will remove as much equipment from the carts as possible and ship separately. Cost, safety of gear, and ease of process are fundamental. Thank you.
  9. Will be heading back through Auckland around the 13th-14th. Maybe then?

    Stolen TS-C

Hey folks, I've had a slate stolen. Was not in my possession at the time. It's a Denecke TS-C and the serial ends in 863. Taken in Atlanta last Friday. Has a property of Jake Slaney sticker that will be gone probably, but I may have written my last name on the sticks. Anyway, keep your eyes peeled if you would. Thanks all.
  12. Anyway you could message me a working Paypal link to donate to the site? I know it was posted years ago, but I'm not sure it's still a functioning link. I'd like to donate more than my $.02.... Thanks
  13. Worked with one of these the last couple days. Apparently you cannot jam 23.98 into camera? Could receive and could jam 29.97. Just giving a heads up and wondering I anyone else has experienced this?
  14. Can't they just pour producers over them?
  15. I just wanted to re-visit and say the my Lav Bullet is a fantastic tool. I did go through a couple in the beginning, but have seen the new threaded connectors with a slug insert and it seems to work perfectly! I use mine every day and would definitely buy another one. Thanks, and sorry about the earlier critique!
