  1. in Russian it says we take no submarines...
  2. clicked the "donate" link on the main page and it took me to Paypal site. which doesn't have Georgia (country) in it's list. never used Paypal and am a bit confused. any tips on how to proceed?
  3. those AT units have poor sound an range from what I experienced. used g2's would be a better option imo. http://en.audiofanzine.com/wireless-microphone/sony/utx-b1-6264/medias/a.play,m.218860.html this beats both. again - in my experience.
  4. I wouldn't catch an alligator with bare hands. some people do, because they are good at it. Im doing what Im good at - getting the usable sound. enjoy your soda
  5. Dont mean to boast, but after booming (and mixing) while standing on railings of "cherry picker" at height of 25 meters in sever wind with the pole fully extended and no safety harness this one was just a piece of cake
  6. thanks Mark was about to order another 7506 as my boom op's backup but gonna go for this now
  7. smell of horseshit in the morning is what got me into sound in the first place!
  8. I had to interview a WW2 veteran once and even though he had his lunch just before the interview his stomach was groaning louder than he spoke. heartbeats are pretty easy to deal with imo.
  9. many factors like placement, physical separation, type of cloth, how well the mic and its cable are fixed determine the result. I don't think size matters in this case since I always got better results with cos-11 than with much smaller and lighter countryman mic's. maybe it's just me though...
  10. I didnt' understand it, were all lines in helmets ADR'ed or just the part of them (hence the problem of matching)
  11. Nikon Acquisition Syndrome
  12. life is too short to waste it on being a back-stabber.
  13. I didn't like how they mixed in the music tracks. just not my taste :S
  14. 81 is superior to 416 imho. of-axis response is much better (as well as on-axis to my taste). everything sits right in its place in perspective. has great "reach". yes, it sounds thin in reverberant interiors, but that's the same with most shotguns, isn't it? I had it on one project and never had any issue with condensation or RF. main mic's where schoeps, but everytime I pulled out the neuman it was on top of it's game!
  15. atm I'm booming for a Ukrainian mixer who checks TC sync by remembering the timecode on recorder and running all the way to the camera while counting in his mind. says he's doing it for 12 years now...
  16. ext cables are pretty noisy when handled in a wrong way. for example: they dont like to be strained too much just as well as being too loose. in first case you might have noise issues when cable tears against boom pole when you (unintentionally) increase decrease pressure. in the later case you'll just have it banging against the pole. and with very sensitive mic's you gotta have some good shockmount, or a very soft grip, because cable can pick noise from your hand(or finger). there are some other specific issues you'll come across while working with 'em. + what John Blankenship said about extra cable wrangling In fast-paced environment. cant say much about int cabled poles. have very limited experience with them, but I guess their techniques are neither easier nor harder to learn...just different.
  17. Switched to sony, because of neverending cable problems. If sennys will ever adress the issue I'll defo go back. have 3 hd-25s cans, all with damaged cables(changed at least twise. each)
