  1. and what about feeding it without any mixer preamps? let's say if you wanna use it for atmo's only with a schoeps stereo pair directly? and I got AKG stereo setup as well which requires more gain ... Im really looking into this product for it's price because I dont want to spend too much for a machine that I'll use only for ambience recordings.
  2. I have a pair of those with 6 elements and they perform just great and are very lightweight. had them out in very windy locations without any problem.
  3. being a newer soundie I must say that properly executed film workflow is easier to deal with than a digital gogogo style gig.
  4. I have done doc's entirely with 50 and prefer it over 416. it's worth the extra $ imo
  5. Hi, Im in need for a new cart. atm I have an open cart for my stuff, but thought on going the rack way. now, there are a lot of discussions here about rackmounted carts, but Im interested in euromodule racks. thought of buying an EMS 400,15u size, and was wondering how to get in touch with them. they dont seem to be responsive at all. and there is very few info on the internet about theirstuff and how to configure it the right way and due to my current location I can't go straight to their office or whatever... also could you recommend sliding shelfs and drawers for this racks (they do seem to have drawers but they look a bit small) Also I would like to know if any of you have ever dealt with any of their re sellers (in US or Europe) and give any links/ contact info. Thanks in advance!
  6. yes, but can't seem to find at re-sellers. what the do have is standard and SM size. at coffeysound it says that SM size fits smq/a types while on neopax site it says DB for smq/a's... got a bit confused and don't want to order the wrong one
  7. wwwhyyyyyy :'( ok, another question - can neopax SM belts hold smqv tx?
  8. bumping this up for maybe a dumb thought/question for sennheiser users... question might be dumb, but you know the saying I thought of the following setup: if from my recorder I output boom+slate mic to left channel of ew 300 g3 tx and mix (w/o slate mic) to right channel will it be then possible to setup 1 rx to receive left only (as mono feed) and 3 other RX's the mix only eg right channel of transmission...? didn't quite get how it works through the manual.... can this be done? or should I buy second tx for boom op/utility?

  10. another question: I have a schoeps CMIT5U mic. so if I dont use the butt-plug and go with SMQV how do I phantom feed the mic? what 48v adapters are there for this mic? as well Im planing to buy either an MK41 with CMC6 or CCM41 LG for interiors, so same advice needed here regarding powering... oh and which one of those two indoor mics would you recommend ?
  11. I always have a couple of nightmares in the beginning of the feature. 2 months ago I had the worst one: I was very thick when the shooting started and we were shooting in mountains so I had this pains in my left ear the whole prep day. didnt pay much attention to it then, was too busy socializing with the crew members , but during the night I woke up at least 10 times panicking that I had some ear disease and I would go deaf on the first shooting day. ofc the next day all was ok and I was calm, but it was one of the most terrible pre shooting experiences ever!
  12. after figuring out the setup for producers grand-mom wireless (who lives in Nicaragua) that would be the first thing on "to-do" list +1!!!
  13. spare's are good, especially when your not the one whose paying
  14. "what limitation is that??" limitation of a rack vs separate rx/tx pair that can be thrown in a bag. Don't really know venue size but I imagined my RK6 strapped to my back on the field I will contact lectro as soon as it's 100% decided. oh, and I didn't get the point about the spare mic... you mean a radio mic manufactured by lectro? I didn't mention it in the opening post but I ordered 8 sanken mics. haha my failt xD
  15. hey Robert! what block(s) were you using here ? and yes local alkalines are a laugh thanks, I'm currently discussing that alternative with them.
  16. they have an 788 already its a kit of 1 transmitter and 2 receivers
  17. they had venu as an option but took it out after I told them of the limitations it has
  18. hello! My local production company asked me to have a look and (if needed) make changes to the list of wireless eq they plan to buy this days. the kit includes the following: 3x lectro SR/5P 6X lectro SMQV 1X lectro octopack 1X lectro HM butt-plug 1X lectro SNURI mout kit for unislot 2X Senni ew 300-2 IEM G3 for monitoring 1X Lectro ALP500 LPDA Shark Fin 1X lectro RM2 for SM transmitters I'm a audio Ltd user and have no experience with lectrosonics (there are no dealers around here in Georgia) and therefore I would appreciate any advice: is this a good (right) setup for cart based feature work? are there any better alternatives from lectro? ofc there is Zaxcom with timecode transmission and internal recording functions that have been discussed in similar thread in eq section of this forum.... so confusing when you never got to play with this toys in real life any advice would be highly appreciated! cheers nika
