  1. I am lucky enough to have a business line of credit that I use to buy gear. Being in a country with a Goods and Services Tax that amounts to 10% of my income every month, I have adopted the view that if I have a good month I will be passing 10% straight back to the government anyway and if I can offset that with the tax that I pay on new equipment (using my line of credit) I can negate paying that (lost) money to the government and in return gain a new piece of gear and still be able to spread the payments as I need them.

    It works for me!

Where to do you live Chris?

    Australia or New Zealand?

  2. " I don't know why the manufacturers of Boompoles

do not create a lightweight boompoles. "

    huh ? ???

Maybe the problem is sourcing the unobtanium needed...?

" create my business for design boompoles "

    let us know...

    I mean more lighter boompole.

When my business are ready to create boompole (it's a joke dude, it's a joke)

and calling me for details we will not pick up the phone for you.

    >:D

  3. It's difficult to describe, but the cabled microphone always sounds much cleaner and fuller. It's probably the compansion system used in radios. Anyway, I won't let any of my boomswingers use radios unless necessary.

    +1

Cables United against Tx for boom.

    ;D

  4. Here's a picture of my boom op using a VDB pole with an MKH 60 and one of my Audio Ltd 2040s. She always prefers the Tx at the mic end, and would work this way all the time if I let her. I can definitely hear the difference between cable and radio and will only let her use it outside when it's Steadicam.

And what is the difference between cable and radio in audio?

    What you hear?

  5. I'm with you brother.

I boomed with an Senn. 816 for years and messed up both left and right rotator cuffs

And deal with tendinitis in both wrists to this day.

Doesn't matter how big or strong you are, booming with to heavy of a pole

over a period of time will damage your body someway, somehow.

    Yes of course.

    I agree with your opinion.

I have a Rode Boompole. I hate it.

In April and May I have two short films for booming and mixing.

With Rode Boompole. Hmmm.. Come on my precious muscles. You have a job.

    ;D

I don't know why the manufacturers of Boompoles

do not create a lightweight boompoles.

I don't think so to be a mathematic solve of supernova to create a lightweight boompoles.

(maybe to create my business for design boompoles, hahahaha)

  6. Sometimes attaching the Tx to the mic end is much simpler.

Especially with an awesome non-cabled boom (like the panamic)

You just deal with the extra weight...

Ridiculous as it might sound, the few seconds saved in collapsing the pole without dealing with an external cable do help if a last-second re-position is needed

(lit-out by a new light, etc) or you're in a low ceiling'd location

You can easily leave the pole in a stand on-set without taking off all the stuff on a belt (or leaving the Tx exposed at the base of the pole)

Just different ways of approaching things I guess

    Cheers

    Ian

    (null)

Dude this not safety for Tx with rubbers.

  7. Rado this is the normal; logical.

We have come point to tell the script (include pictures) is professional.

For us send sound report, timecode, microphones, recorders etc

and the only work for script is to write the position for the camera, actors etc

It is to hard take a pictures from every scene before day shoot?

    And my question is.

    Where is the preproduction?

Rado you are very lucky to the work with professionals from A to Z.

    Best regards

  8. No, for some reason, every now and then when I post a reply on a thread, it winds up posting with all the HTML code included visually... can't seem to figure out why though -- there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it... so I go back and remove all the HTML crap and re-post it... Kind of a PITA, but oh well, there are far worse things happening to far better people, right? : )

    Right!
