Loving life....well most of the time anyway.
  1. With the SRB, Channel 1 should be higher than Channel 2. SRA was set up the way you describe. Might not fix it but might be worth checking? Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk
  2. Is Channel 1 set to a higher frequency than channel 2? Also have you checked that your intermod free with all the wireless in close range? Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk
  3. That is awesome!! I want it on a shirt That is awesome!! I want it on a shirt
  4. Just had my first shoot with the Alexa Mini today. Jammed off Ambient ACL203 Lockit from a SD788T and held TC well, even through battery changes. Was mounted with the Amira eyepiece/LCD Monitor so shared the same menu system. Received my Custom Lemo audio cable today (from an Aus Cable Tech) so will get to try it out tomorrow morning. Little confused by some of the comments as the TC port (at least on this one) is on the rear of the body? The Lemo port up front is audio in.
  5. Did the update and everything is running smooth. Didn't lose my settings either. New A-H meter view is very handy too.
  6. Ah sorry I misread it & thought the mod was done at the 788t end, not the input cable end. My mistake!
  7. Thanks for doing these tests! I contacted Sound Devices & was told this would void my warranty so will wait until it expires before trying it out. Just a heads up for anyone thinking about jumping straight into it like I did.
  8. Just wait till PT11 comes out. I can hear the screaming PT users already haha. Have a look at the list of hardware that will become Legacy. http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=419131 Time to sell my Digi002 i think.
  9. Not too sure Jason. I purchased mine in 2009 (new) & it's performed the same since. Doesn't rule out a possible defect though. I might order a new capsule for it. It's quite cheap if you swap the capsule out yourself.
  10. Thanks Matthew, that's exactly what i was trying to say. I tried to state attenuation point, not amount (132db spl/142db spl for -10db pad). This looks good on paper, which helped influence my purchase, but doesn't reflect actual use. My NTG-3 for example is only rated at 130db spl, but won't distort like the AKG does during loud dialogue. For reference, with normal (no screaming/shouting) dialogue, the gain trim is at 3 'o clock (SD302), with the fader at unity. This registers 0dbu (-20dbfs) on the meters. With loud dialogue, almost max gain using the gain trim. Tried all sorts of gain staging combos but the noise floor is always a problem with the pad engaged. I've never heard of the Audix hyper before. Will try & have a listen to it sometime. Cheers.
  11. i have the AKG CK93 & it does require a lot of gain. The thing I don't like about it is the attenuation point for the 10db switch. Normal level dialogue is fine with it off, but if talent starts screaming/shouting, the mic will distort. Hit the 10db attenuation switch, & your normal speaking level dialogue requires so much gain (almost max on my SD302 mixer) introducing noise. Pity, as I quite like the sound of the mic & handling noise is low. It's also very cheap for repairs being of a modular design.
