  1. I couldn't find if this was stated already, but can I get the 4 track Nomad and upgrade to the 6 track? The guys over at Gotham weren't sure. I was over there today for a few hours playing around with the Nomad. It really is an amazing machine. It'll take getting used to, but I'm definitely putting a deposit down for it soon. Supposedly it's been taking 10 weeks to deliver...
  2. I'm heading into Gotham Sound after the holidays to AB test some, but thinking that I'm gonna go with 2 sanken's and 1 sonotrim.
  3. This is pretty much what I've been hearing, but it seems that a good amount of people I know that have used the Nomad actually hate it, but it's probably because they have been using SD for years now. What about going for a 788t?
  4. I'm looking to upgrade my system. I've had a lot of cross suggestions about these two rigs, but I wanted to just start a new topic about it to see what feedback I get from people.
  5. I've been told that the SD 552 and 744t give you a lot more options than the nomad. Is this true?
  6. I would definitely want to get the COS 11's, however, I believe they don't produce them with the twist locking mini for the G3's. I would buy the pigtails and just do it myself, but I don't really know how. I've heard that the EMW's were really flimsy compared to the B3/B6. What about Trams? Also, do you think that the hush lavs would work with the B3's?
  7. This cart looks great! Exactly what I'm looking for. How much did it end up costing in the end and what's a good strategy to get this put together?
  8. I'm looking to get some new lav mics for my G3's. I can't afford the lectro's as of yet, so I'm using my G3's for every job that I pick up, including features and ENG stuff. I don't have a crazy budget, but I was looking at the countryman B3's. Any suggestions? Thanks
  9. yes, but its pretty much showing that I have no channels available.
  10. I'm currently using the Rode zeppelin, but I'm finding that it's really flimsy. Looking for a rubber donut shockmount, but coming up short. Any suggestions?
  11. Shoot tomorrow in Arlington and having some trouble with frequencies recently in that area. Any good suggestions for the G3's?
  12. I'm working on a shoot where I have to record a phone conversation between 2 people. I'll be in the room with one person and the other on the phone. I've done this before with a phone hybrid, but I don't have access to one. I was just thinking about planting a lav near the speaker and just put the call on speaker and lav the person in the room with me. Any other alternatives? Thanks
  13. Also, if anyone has any pictures of theirs, let me see them!
  14. So Home Depot actually has PVC holders made for something that works with boom poles, or would I have to make it? If so, not a problem, but whats the best way to get the foam inside the piping?
  15. I've been trying to find the Petrol PBP-2 soft case for boom poles, but I'm not having any luck. Anyone know of any around, new/used, and if not, if there's another solution?
  16. Looking for the one that would fit on a 416 or NT5s?
  17. anyone with a nomad have pictures of a bag scenario they've worked with?
  18. I haven't been able to find any rubber donut shockmounts online anywhere. Any suggestions?
  19. I am unfortunately just using a Rode NT2 right now (low on money), but am looking for something that is practical for indoor and outdoor shoots. I just boomed a short film where the mixer had me on a 60 most of the time, and it's really amazing! The schoeps sound amazing as well, but they are pretty expensive. I've heard great things about the 416, but was wondering if it would be worth spending a little more for a Sanken or 60?
  20. Looking to upgrade my shotgun... Sanken, Sennheiser or Neumann? Looking for short to med length that will last me a good amount of time.
  21. If the 6 isn't working for you, I'm selling my 606
  22. I have the aluminum KE 110 with right exit. It's an OK pole, but I could really use something lighter and with better locking knobs. I'm hearing some good things about Loon poles, but not sure what I want to do. I've used the K-tek carbon fiber poles and they're great.
  23. Thanks for the advice, Mike. I've spent a good amount of time looking on the site and found a lot of good advice. It's not that I don't like my k-tek, it's that my rig is already about 40 lbs. and I'm looking for something that will help with that without losing any reach. I ended up purchasing a PD 606 about a year ago at a really good price, but it's really not meant for the OTS jobs that I'm getting. Looking to sell it (which it has been posted here) and get a 744T and 442/552 mixer to make life a lot easier for myself.
  24. I've been using K-tek for some time now, but wanted to know of any other boom poles that would be able to extend 12ft. and over, be lightweight and have low/no noise with an internal coiled cable. Any suggestions? Thanks, Steve
