  1. I have the same with my CMC641 mic.
  2. I just got mine yesterday from Gotham. Ordered it last week. Seems really well made and solid. I will use it tomorrow in NYC... The antenna is larger that the one in Jeff's photo. I also got it with the 2.4GHz module so it has 2 antennas (or should I say antennae?) It took me until today to realize the built in battery only charges via USB if the unit is switched on (even though it turns on when plugged into USB-even with the switch in the off position.)
  3. You got me... I know my mistake was first using the "headphone 2" 1/8" jack, which only allows headphone volume control through the menu. Sounds like its time for a phone call to Zaxcom... What about hitting the "Bus" button and then choose "card mix 1-4" to make sure the output is going to the card? (as seen in your photo)
  4. It never entered my mind to even look since I didn't hear about your problem until after that... I still can't figure out how the power switch could break! Can't you send it back? Or do you not want to be away from it for that long?
  5. Yep, I had the same problem. Uscrew all the screws on the top and bottom (note the the ones in front [top and bottom] are longer), and the case will come out straight back. Then remove the screws holding in the 6 XLR inputs, and the battery is under there. I can post pictures if would help anyone. In my case I took the battery out and it tested 3.1 volts. I was going to replace it but the store didn't have one. When I got home and put the old one back in, it now works. With 2.77 firmware the timecode set for the time of day is within one second of my Casio watch over the past week. Added: I went ahead and added photos in the Gallery section.
  6. I remember doing it one time as a test. It's explained on page 17 of the SRa manual. Go to "Compat" in the menu and choose M.3 or M.6 (I don't remember which.) I don't recall having to mess with the pilot tone... The compatibility mode took care of that. I don't think you can change the compatibility mode of each channel separately, so that killed the idea of using it with a Senny for me.
  7. When the switch is off, they're all off...

    Nomad when?

I got my Nomad 6 today! So those with a long wait on a 6 may get theirs very shortly too...
  9. <HAT> Plus 24 1155 N. La Brea Avenue West Hollywood, CA 90038 (323) 845-1171 - main (323) 845-1168 - support (800) 330-7753 - orders
  10. Take the card out, put it in a CF card reader attached to your computer. I use the Lexar USB3.0 Dual-Slot reader (model LRW300U) - although not with the Nomad yet!
  11. I know the manual says there is no increase of battery life using 50mw instead of 100mw... therefore I never use the 50mw setting.

    Nomad when?

I was all excited to get mine this week, but my store told me they only shipped Nomad 8's... the 6's next week... argh.
  13. I don't think anyone has actually said THANK YOU for finally making this available! The only time I saw it was as a stapled "preliminary" print-out next to the display Nomad in the store.... I didn't realize Jack Norflus was the co-writer along with Glenn S.

    Nomad when?

I made a Nomad 6 deposit back during the AES show in New York (and I was on the waiting list way before that), and paid in full in late December so I could deduct it on my 2011 taxes. I was told yesterday either late next week or the week after. We'll see.
  15. I met soundie Don Kron a while back and he had a cool belt clip for his boom. It's from Lowe's and it was very inexpensive, so I got myself one. Thought I'd share!
  16. Yep - I remember that thread. I will surely test my current SRa block 21 carefully when I get my Nomad. And thanks everybody for your responses. This site is the best!
  17. Thanks, Senator, that's exactly what I was thinking. I already have an HM butt plug on 21 as well. Am thinking of an extra waterproof MM400c... And when will you go back to just <HAT>?
  18. One of my big purchases for 2012 will be a second SRa receiver and two more SMQVs. My current SRa is on block 21, and here in northern NJ I’ve found block 21 to be incredibly vacant. I’ve used it all over NJ, NYC and Philly, and never had any problems with interference (of course I always scan the frequencies first.) It will be used in a bag holding 2 SRa’s (with a Lectro Quad Pack) and a Nomad 6 which (surprise, surprise) I don’t have yet. So why shouldn’t I buy another SRa on the same block?
  19. Nobody has mentioned that you could save a hundred bucks if you get the LectroRM app for iPhones or Android phones... plus it has more features (frequency changing) over the Lectro RM2.
  20. I haven't seen my method listed... I use an SD302 connected to a Zoom H4N, and the mini line output from the Zoom gets connected to my Canon 5D with this cable. The cable converts from line level to mic level, with a headphone out. I use tone from the 302 to set manual levels on the Zoom and 5D, and it works great. I use a headphone extension cable to allow me to set the Zoom away from the 5D.
