  1. Has anyone tried powering a TS-C with 9V's? Any permanent mods out there? How would battery life of one or two 9V's compare with the normal 6 AA's? Sorry... I don't know very much about mAh's, power draw, etc. Thanks! Alex Altman Nashville, TN
  2. Thanks for all the tips everyone! I'm glad to hear that this tape is popular among you guys as well... Alex Altman Nashville, TN
  3. Hey All, On a job recently where I was using my sanken CUB-01, I decided to try using the little adhesive circles that come with the mic. Nothing would stick on this particular waxy surface, but the Nitto stuff held amazingly well! It also came right off without marring or leaving residue. I am wondering if anyone knows how to order more of this wonder-tape? I found the Nitto website, but they only seem to offer the no. 500 adhesive in rolls. It's just very convenient having it perfectly cut for the CUB-01. Thanks! Alex Altman Nashville, TN
  4. Hello Bernie, I use B6's a lot for my run n' gun work, and I have one method that seems to work almost every time. You may have already tried this, but it's as simple as about an inch and half strip of transpore directly over the mic. I position the mic head so that it is right at the top of the tape, flush, forcing an airgap for better sound transmission. I usually put a one-loop of cable in the tape also as a precaution. Place this strip in your sweet spot on the backside of the top layer of clothing, and be (usually) contact rustle and breath-pop free. If there is the risk of wind entering the shirt, I'll just cover the entire mic head with the transpore. I'm usually surprised at how much it really doesn't kill the highs on the mic. Good luck! I need it as well... Alex Altman Nashville, TN
  5. Hey Coleman, I have had the Deva V freeze up on my once. I still don't know what the cause was. I had plenty of HD space and I wasn't adjusting a menu item at the time. It was a one-take, no cuts style movie that lasted about 100 min. We were doing several takes and then the director would pick the best one. We had already run it successfully five or six times. About ten minutes into a take, my screen froze up and a harsh squeal came belting out my headphones. I had one iso'd output feeding a comtek for my boom op, and apparently the sound came out of all my outputs because I looked over at him just as he ripped his phones off. I turned off the power, restarted and everything worked fine the rest of the week. Who knows? Just thought I would throw this experience in, as you asked if the Deva has ever frozen up on anyone...
  6. Courtney may be right about the slide/collision being intentional. I don't remember seeing anyone in the video actually running to the truck after it hit the pole. Doesn't really matter, just something I noticed. I do agree with everyone else about the lack of concern in the article for crew and other actors. Alex Altman Nashville, TN
  7. Hey Sonny! I don't know if you remember me, I visited Trick My Truck for some Mike's Hard Lemonade promos last year. We were a small crew from Nashville, TN. Well good to see you on here. Hope you are doing well. Coincidently, this is my first time posting on this forum as well. So hello everyone! I would like to contribute more, but most of the time I don't have a lot to say! Maybe I can try asking questions... I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts every day. Thanks for some great info. Alex Altman Nashville, TN
