Nice design! The use of the Makita drawers looks great. I was thinking to make something similar around the Milwaukee packout system.

I'm hoping they'll do a 19" version of their packout at some point.

Lucas, Matthew Freed at Blackbird Carts recently released such a cart based around the Milwaukee system they are calling the Platform. See https://www.blackbirdcarts.com/collections/carts/products/the-platform

  2. Now that the Halter Technical Microsone are shipping! Who here on JWSound has received theirs?? Mine both arrived yesterday and keen to chat with anyone that has received their unit (all good!). Interested to hear which other Bluetooth earpieces you are trying and ways you are using them.

  3. Proaim strike again... this time with a copy of the Nebtek. Shameless. If you hear anyone considering buying one of their carts on this group or on a social media group please encourage them not to do so. Better yet, suggest they buy it from the original manufacturer. Thanks again for your support.

  4. Well Proaim Global are up to their old tricks this time with two of my carts, the Production Sound Cart and the MiniCart. Of course you get what you pay for! Despite how clever they think they are, they don't appear to be able to work out the correct way to mount the handle!? The support of the sound community, as ever, is hugely appreciated.

Can we see photos of the accessories?

The accessories are listed at https://store.SOUNDCART.audio;)these include boom holders, cup holders etc.

Maverick specific accessories such as fold out tables etc. will be uploaded in the coming weeks.

  6. I’m proud to show share photos of the first Maverick off the production line!

The Maverick has been designed primarily as a follow/utility cart although is also ideal for sound mixers finding themselves working in a small crew.

It features a light-weight aluminium frame (just 11.3kg / 25lbs), a recessed work area at the top, a handle that doubles as an antenna riser, 12″ rear wheels and a generous storage area that can be easily customised.

Optional storage boxes (400x300mm Euro Containers / Festool Systainer storage system) are widely available from third parties in a variety of heights and configurations (with/without lids or locks and colours etc.) to enable a Sound Mixer to customise their cart. My range of optional universal accessories are also compatible. I recommend ‘Euro Containers’ and ‘System Boxes’ by AUER (www.auer-packaging.com) who have world-wide distribution.

For further details visit www.soundcart.audio/maverick and contact your local dealer (www.soundcart.audio/dealers) for availability and local pricing.

Let me know any accessories you’d be interested in. A folding side tray and adjustable clips to hold a mixer bag on the top, inserts for the base and sides are already in development.

  7. It has been a while since I posted here. After doing a short presentation to some of you (sorry Jeff I only realised it was you after the Zoom chat had ended) fine folk the other week (via Zoom) I thought I would update you with some photos of the final MiniCart MAX cart.

If you have ever wanted a cart that you can mix either stood up or sitting down then this is perfect for you.

    Hope you enjoy the photos.

  8. Arne, I use aluminium profile to construct the frames of my carts (www.instagram.com/soundcart). If you read and adhere to the detailed information provided by the manufacturer you will be able to construct a very strong cart. Pay attention to the types of fasteners available as not all are equal! Some can loosen over time so read up!!

Many aluminium profile manufacturers offer CAD files. If you have the time to teach yourself CAD design first you’ll be able to design your cart before any costly mistakes in the real world!

  9. I asked them last year about the possibility and I'm aware of a prototype existing so it is possible. Sadly they have told me there are no plans for this to happen as they are working on other products. Very short sighted in my opinion. I think they'd sell rather well.

  10. I’m not an Ambient lockit user (I’m firmly in the TimeCode Systems camp) but they should be praised for product innovation. I like the concept. It doesn’t fit the workflow of the majority of my work which is PSC/ENG based. However I can see the commercial and film boys liking it.

    Any my other new products?

    A. The EXPLORER was designed from the ground up as a low-cost, stable, light-weight, purpose built sound cart (not an adaption of another product).

Like our other models the EXPLORER is extremely customisable (adjustable shelves, install accessories in multiple positions, wide range of optional accessories etc.) to compliment your workflow not impose one on you.

    Q. Will I quickly outgrow the EXPLORER?
    A. EXPLORER enjoys a wide range of accessories and optional extras that should prevent the need to upgrade for many many years.

    Q. What is EXPLORER made from?
    A. Mostly tubular aluminium extrusion making the cart both light-weight and strong.

  12. A gifted cart designer and an inspiration to us all. I’ve regrettably never had the pleasure of seeing one of his carts in person but his reputation for attention to detail and expertise preceded him.

My condolences to his family and friends.
