  1. Sorry to hijack an old thread here, but am i correct in saying that my QRX 100 4 channel could receive 2 x 742 transmitters? And the IFB option board would adjust their input gain? Would i be able to separately adjust each of the 742's T
  2. To bounce or not to bounce? That is the question!
  3. There's a rely interesting documentary called "why we fight" that deals with this. Check it out
  4. I did the same... Got these and they work a treat http://www.canford.co.uk/Products/49-286_D-SERIES-BNC-double-sided-50-ohm-black

  6. Finally got a chance to try the downgrad to 6.1.1 and it worked a treat.. got all tracks as expected. Thanks Matthias
  7. I love the aluminium drawers, I'll Have to look into something like this too
  8. Hey Nate , Sure, give us a hoy when you get here and we can catch up . Matthias, thanks for the info , just saved me a heap of messing around with wave agent.
  9. Thanks wandering ear, the sound report I've forwarded to production is a copy and post job from zaxconvert and wave agent , All the zaxconvert info plus the track breakdowns from wave agent and my own personal header. It's an PITA after a long day but was my own decision to do away with the hand written notes I've used in the past. Jeff, I'm interested in why you think I'm using zaxconvert in a way that it wasn't intended? Isn't translating the proprietary files recorded by the deva/fusion into a usable format it's primary function? Granted I'm only after the sound report but the audio files are inaccessible. If I forget to change the mirror folder tomorrow, then I'll spend all day recording files in a proprietary format that are inaccesable to anyone even using the companies own software! Doesn't seem right
  10. Rich, don't you think it's a problem that you recorded 12 tracks but only got 10
  11. Hi Jeff, I provided dailies to editorial via the mirrored CF card from my fusion . The only reason I used zaxconvert was to get the sound report that it creates during the translation. I'd much prefer to use wave agent with the wav files created on the mirrored CF card because the sound report is much better. However, only 1/3 of the metadata generated by the fusion is read by wave agent. I only randomly get notes through and the timecode can be as much as 10 frames out from the actual file. Is there a better way
  12. Thanks for clearing that up,
  13. I'm running 6.12 on Mac OS 10.8.2 Looks like we have the same problem , zaxconvert only seems to be able to handle 10 tracks
  14. Hi , I've just finished my first day recording with my fusion/mix 12 combo. I had 1 RM on track 1, 1 RM on track 6 and a mono mix on track 12. Zaxconvert will not let me access track 12, It only seems to give me the first 2 tracks... Seems a little insane! Wave agent lets me access them from the mirrored back up. anyone know anything about this? Trev
  15. So the trolleys out on its first day today! I'll take some better photos soon
  16. Thanks for your reply Larry . Would mounting the sna directly below the shark fin also have the same effect?
  17. My previous and much loved cart was one of rob stalders carts. They are indeed fine carts. What other kind of rack rails are there ? I've been in audio since "96 and never come across rack rails that didn't use a caged nut
  18. would it be possible to plug an sn600 into the antenna input of the T4 and put it on the same antenna mast as 2 shark fins that were used for the venue? RM's and venue are operating on block 26 and t4 is operating on 24
  19. The access panel is a good idea for sure. I'll keep the lid at the back off. Maybe I'll put one of those access panels at the back. I went with the thinnest steel that would still be strong enough. I'm hoping to throw the steel frame in the cargo hold of a plane as is , so felt aluminium might not fare as well.
  20. You guys may be right. I tried to find the biggest wheels that would still fit inside the frame. I never really considered if that would make it hard to move. I'll see how it goes. I can ways extend the axel Nd out bigger wheels on later. Crew, I think I'm pretty low and short too !! Cause the handles are at the tight height for me!
  21. + 1 for the lav mic in the headphone trick. It always sounds better then patching in to the comm system. Actually it's quite surprising how clear and quite it is considering the noise. One thing to keep in mind is pilots usually have to monitor a variety of sources .. Often they overlap each other making it difficult to concentrate. If its just the internal comms you're after ( ie just the occupants of the chopper ) thn get the pilot to mix out all the other sources
  22. Hi guys thanks for your thoughts / comments. The cart is designed around not having the lids on during operation. The butterfly clasps that hold the lids on will mate with clasps yet to be welded on the steel frame. That's what supports the rack case onto the frame. I don't intended to access the rear during operation. There is my power distro and a patch panel at the back and I'll cover the remaining rack spaces with blank panels to kelp out the dust. The job I'm building it for requires filming on a train as well as a few quick turn around plane trips, so yeah my intention was to keep most of the gear racked for flights ( ill take out the fusion ). No doubt it's going to be on the heavy side but iv just had to come to terms with that! It's in getting power coated so I'll post more in about a week once I've got it back.
  23. After taking so much inspiration from this site when designing my new cart I'd thought I'd post some work in progress pictures of where I'm at. I based my cart on 2 carts I likes the most... Thanks simon and devendra! I'll post more in the next week with an explanation of how it works
  24. Thanks cjh, Just thought it would be nice to use the mix 12. I have posted on the zaxcom forum but haven't heard back
