  1. Pelican cases are excellent. Don't know about "fragility ratings" but i do know that if the kit is packed into the pelican case with the interior foam that comes with the case you can't go wrong. Have yet to see a pelican case trashed by baggage handlers.
  2. Pat I found a piece of aluminium at the local diy store which is 10mm on both its flat sides and 1mm thick. Does the job nicely. I noticed yours looks a bit more heavy duty. Dave.
  3. Yes i'm having the same problem with Tapatalk not loading latest posts. Tried updating tapatalk but still not loading. Shame because as Rob has already mentioned it was a very efficient way of keeping up to date with the forum.
  4. Hi Pat, That is a great idea, made one up for my 788 this afternoon. Especially good for marking up the faders with camera tape. Thanks Dave. QUOTE: Made some handles or wings out of aluminium angle for my 552 and 788t. Found that they are good for marking up with camera tape as name bars, they give some protection of the control surfaces , and they give an edge for lifting the units out of the bags. PS
  5. Thank you Whitney i'll pass that on. Studiomprd no thanks.
  6. A recordist friend in the UK is travelling to the following locations, what would be the best radio frequencies to use and are there any local rental companies he could get a couple of radio mics to hire. Thanks in advance. Dave. Amarillo El Paso Austin Hill Country San Antonio Galveston Houston Kilgore Dallas Fort Worth Huntsville
  7. I need some help. I've got a QRX100 which I'm setting up as a camera link. The camera will be in Rec Run timecode. I am receiving the timecode into the TRX via the IFB link from QRX. Is it possible for the TRX to go into Record and Stop automatically as and when the camera rolls. At the moment the TRX is in Auto-Load mode but nothing happening and when it is in Auto-Jam it goes into continuous Record mode. Also is there a way of having return audio and timecode output simultaneously on the 'STA100 Audio/tc output' or is it one or the other only? The reason I would like this is to feed timecode to my 788 to set that into Auto Record. Thanks for your help. David.
  8. If you talk to Ian at KT systems I'm sure he would make you a pouch, I have pouches for both the Zaxcom tx and rx which have windows to see/operate all the relevant buttons, velcro and straps to attach to cameras. And it's all very weatherproof. Dave.
  9. Thanks Joshua it was the www that worked not http! Anyway having tried it, it did not seem to work very well and yes I too like the Recent Post section which does not display in the App. Dave.
  10. I just tried this App on my iphone, downloaded it twice to make sure the first download not corrupted. Both times when trying to login to jwsound it pops up with "Login Failed. Confirm username and password and correct URL". All of which I have double checked. Any ideas where I'm going wrong?? Dave.
  11. Hi Glenn Manual control of record/stop would be very nice. On a side note I've had my Zaxcom camera link for 18 months now and I have to say that the camera link RF has been very reliable. I am really pleased with this kit. Nice work. Dave
  12. Thanks for the suggestions Rich, I too find it fiddly having to scroll through to playback page I think it would be less reliable (human error!) than the system I already use. As I say the RF timecode drops out rarely but its always unwelcome! IFB100 would be an extra box on camera and there not much room to put it, they already have Zaxcom RX, Lockit and video sender attached. Yes a menu page on the Transmitter to control Record/Pause would be ideal.
  13. Hello, I am currently using the Zaxcom camera link and a Black Box Timecode sender/receiver. Timecode is TOD. So when the camera turns over I turn my Black Box receiver 'on' the TRX900 (in Auto Load mode) sees the timecode rolling and goes into record, all good. But very occasionally the RF on the Black Box tx/rx fails and the TRX900 drops out of record, not good. I know that I could just set it too Record and leave it running all day but this would obviously produce lots of Recordings I do not need. Is there a way of manually PAUSE/RECORD on the TRX900 without going into menus? Or any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Dave.
