  1. Wow, That's good news (sort of)... maybe I'll be moving back to L.A. : /. I do miss the palm trees... and the smell of jasmine. ~tt
  2. Have you looked at the MidAtlantic stuff? http://www.middleatlantic.com/products/accessories/adjustable-sliding-rackshelves/sliding-shelf.aspx Might be overkill, but they make great products ~tt
  3. they're gonna have to start making bullet-proof harnesses for Soundies. Ugh. UPDATE: Bryce Dion (Sound) was killed by friendly fire from police - he WAS wearing a bulletproof vest. Good God. Heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. How tragic : /
  4. ^ I'd be leery of doing this w/o thoroughly testing the results... any coating on a windscreen can potentially and dramatically affect the resulting sound. ~tt
  5. Oh man! LoTD! Hilarious and sad all at once!
  6. My favorites are visor planted CMC6/mk41 or mk4 w/ GVC swivel, followed by COS-11 (also visor plant), followed by COS-11's on talent - seatbelts are always a pain, as are open windows... especially with talent-worn mics. As stated above though, every situation has it's own unique parameters / possible solutions. In any case, good luck with your gig : ) ~tt
  7. Thanks Senator, That looks like a really effective solution for those of us who run "hybrid" bag rigs on carts - I might have to grab a couple of those. Must be brand new - LSC doesn't even list them on their site yet... guess I'll have to actually use my phone to make a call ; ) ~tt
  8. Damn, dude! How do you really feel? Anyhow, +1 for the RA BDS (v.2 here in multiple bags) w/ IDX NP-L7S (some I've had since May of '06 and still use) The cups fit conveniently in the side pouches of the Petrol bags (if that's what you're using.) ~tt
  9. I used the LSC (Sennheiser?) brand for years, then switched to these: http://www.locationsound.com/headphones-headsets-earsets-51/headphones-54/sony-mdrzx100-stereo-headphones-with-stereo-unimatch-plug-721 ...@ $20, you can consider them expendable. No matter which model you choose, they will have a limited lifespan - people are rough on them... just count on it and plan accordingly. ~tt
  10. Godspeed Mr. Williams. You'll be missed : ( nanu nanu
  11. I imagine with the merging of certain technologies, we'll see that in our lifetime... A perfect example is origami in architectural design... we live in an amazing age. ~tt
  12. ahh, nationalism... insuring a methodical reset to world relations for generations to come : ) GO US!!! Incidentally, speaking of where things are made, I seem to recall a period of time when right here in our own beloved U S and A, there was an industry wide practice of planned obselescence... I believe it was the auto industry... and as I recall, we've never fully recovered from that bit of genius. Steering the thread back on topic, it doesn't take China to fuck up a film stunt... all it takes is negligence - and believe me, we have it here in spades. ; ) ~tt
  13. That's commendable - and you'll go far in life with that kind of proactive attitude... whether it's deserved, reciprocated, or not. Good on you : ) ~tt
  14. damn, I get vertigo just looking at the picture. I remember as a kid watching climbers on El Cap from the valley floor... they looked like ants. The plus side is having the tx's positioned so high above the rx's -- best possible orientation for getting clean signal
