  1. With some jobs I can and some I cant. Its not just a tripod but a casing for it so its not damaged, RF cables and fin. Thats a lot of extra weight which I have to carry in and out of my 5th floor apartment with no elevator, compared to some long whips. I just thought it could be very practical to have long antennas sticking out of my RX housing but I guess its not possible in the way I thought it could be...
  2. That could be an idea too, if there is such a mast that can be secured in a bag which can also hold the weight of the RF Venue Diversity, it could be very practical. Having said that, what do you people store your fin antennas in?
  3. Thats very cool Larry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Sent you a PM Jeff, thanks.
  5. Anyone else get errors when trying to link their JW account with their Facebook account, or when they try and change their profile photo? I cannot seem to be able to do neither of them...
  6. I have seen these setups before but they had heavy and expensive multicore cables running between them and the mixer.
  7. I just thought it would be easier than carrying a second boom or tripod with me which also means extra BNC cables.
  8. So do you think there is a way to make self standing whip antennas that connect directly to my RX housing and are approximately 1.5m yet still within the range of its spectrum? 600-715mhz
  9. Constantin I work mostly sitting down but without a cart, I have a very heavy bag so I sit it down somewhere and work from there, and when I have the ability to carry a second pole or tripod then I have an RF Venue Diversity to use anyways. So neither the strap nor harness would be useful. I imagine something like the above video where its a long antenna but only the tip is functional at the required length, applied, to either a very long whip (like carried on the back of communication soldier style). I don't know if that makes sense or if it is even possible, but the idea is to get above the crowd as often sets get very crowded and seems that it can cause dropouts, though I might be wrong about that.
  10. This is a very good video indeed but these are for attaching to a harness. I need them to stand high from the bag. Like a telescopic one for example... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Could you please elaborate on getting the whips above head hight as its something I have been meaning to figure out how to do for a long time yet could not find a way to do it. I never really use a cart nor a harness so I need a way to get the whips above the crowd from my bag while the bag is sitting on a stool hight. Is there such a thing? 12. Thats good to know Constantin, Im definitely swapping all of mine then. I also hate having to screw those dam things on and off dozens of times every day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Remote Audio does the Miracle Whip, which is meant to be made of memory steel, so in theory, you should be able to bend them in any way you want while packing your gear away since they will always return to their original state, you do not have to remove them. But this is just my theory, I have the same problem as you and I was going to try this solution.
  14. Well if you must work with such post ppl, you do not have to confuse them with 2 scary MS tracks, you can encode it in your mixer and provide them with a stereo track, as you were planning to do with the AT mic. Hopefully they know what to do with a stereo track?
  15. You should not have to come up with original ideas and carry more equipment just because the person at post does not know how to do his/her job properly. MS is very simple to grasp actually. But if you really must then I suppose you can use a 7pin XLR instead of having to carry multiple cables and connectors but that alone is pretty heavy too....
  16. Thanks John, you are right I never thought of that. Back to the topic then. So when you have diversity switch from A to B, is that just switching its polarity for a better signal in regards to finding wether the vertical or the horizontal signals are stronger, or is it doing something else?
  17. OK I do not want to hijack this thread but since there are many experts here maybe one can explain a few things related to the topic for an amateur regarding how to pick portable whip antennas for my RX housing that use a 600-715mhz range system. It has been bugging me for a long time and I find it confusing since I do not clearly understand the relation between the length of the antenna and the spectrum its meant to cover. I know you can get harness mounted ones but I rarely use a harness and very rarely end up on a cart which then I could use my RF Venue Diverisity Fin. So %90 of the time I have to rely on the antennas on my RX housing. Also, does it matter if its a thick rubber one or a normal wire like we have on the TX's? Does it matter if they are both vertical or if one is angled? Finally, I often feel that an over crowded set can cause dropouts, Is this really possible? Thanks
  18. So in theory it should still work with one antenna?
  19. That confuses me as well. I also wondered how it does its antenna diversity for 2 channels with only 2 antennas.
  20. I am not sure of the exact voltage, but basically you get a fair amount of noise which is even more apparent in between words. This is what I had in mind but stuffed in an XLR barrel of some sort so its tiny. However as an alternative option, I also have a Ambient UMPII 48p adapter which can provide more power, which totally beats the whole purpose of the CMR but it will at least free up my CMC6 and allow me to use it as a second mic. This give out too much tho, so I need to step it down. So which is easier/smaller/lighter step up or down? OK new question. Will this provide the conversion needed? Not much info on the site tho... http://www.ambient.de/en/products/ambient-recording/mic-power-supply/emp.html
  21. Hey all, I have a Schoeps CMR which I never managed to use since the voltage output of the AW Tx does not seem to be enough and even after the modification of the Tx by the manufacturer it did not give me a satisfying sound, its still noisy basically. So the question is, is there anything I can do with it, any other means to get it to work? Some kind of a step-up converter maybe? I am not too good with the electronic side of it all, so if anyone who is could chip in I would much appreciate. These are its specs, http://www.schoeps.de/en/products/cmr/specs
  22. Worked with 2 5Ds for 3 months on a docu. Both with a G3 attached for mono mix and Plural Eyes had no issues for hours and hours of footage, worked perfect. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I wonder if its too late for the 500 euro downpayment, but there are a few horror stories about very late releases with a lot of problems, which would be a nightmare for those who live very far from Sonnosax HQ.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
