I've not experienced an AC to DC converter for NP-1 cups that outputs 15v. If yours does, then you should be fine. All of mine did 12-13v which was way lower than my NP-1 output and so I never got this particular setup to work properly. I did use the dual NP-1 cup for two NP-1 batteries and that worked great. However, take care if you decide to hotswap NP1 batteries with dual cups, if the battery voltage is too disparate you can snap drain a fully charged battery and run into problems.

Is this actually the case? Most wireless kits are wide-band these days and can span 3 blocks or more easily. Scanning and changing frequencies on the fly (with Shure or Zaxcom for instance) could bounce from one block to the other at a moments notice.

Last year I worked direct for corporate for a largeish clothing company in the US. They went into bankruptcy before they sent my payment. It's the only time in 15 years I hadn't gotten paid, I just took the loss. Basically what happens in the US, is all the people who are owed money line up and hope to get anything at all, and they usually don't unless they're primary credit holders. A single freelancer with a $1500 bill is so far at the bottom of the list I may as well have been invisible. Sometimes shit do happen and it sucks. I hope you fare better than I did.

I applaud all mixers willing to use a compact and portable/collapsible chairs. Having had the displeasure of dragging around many unwieldy mixer chairs affixed precariously to follow carts... some of these options look heavenly.

Tho it does appear to happen on rare occasion, I have personally never worked with a boom op who didn't wear headphones.

The 722 is a wonderful piece of gear and is a beautiful display piece to pair with a set of speakers. I've thought of using a 702 for the same purpose, tho I haven't been able to justify it just yet.

I use 12v phantom for my Schoeps CMC6 MK41 and miniCMIT using the ZMT PH2 and ADX3. I hear no noticeable sound floor increase and I get ~20% more battery life out of my TX.

I'm with you. Maybe I don't know as much about digital signal chains as I thought, or I have misunderstandings which is totally possible. But I find limiters in my digital signal chain to be useful I think, but maybe I'm mistaken. This thread has thoroughly confused me and I'll have to do more research into digital signal chains.

I think you're going to be disappointed by the advice here as this there is basically no microphone that will work. Lav mic for your voice is probably the best bet as a compromise between isolation of noise and convenience of placement. A dynamic mic like an SM58 or SM7B will be even more isolating, but you have to talk right into it for it to sound good. As for recording the sounds of painting... without a properly isolated studio there's basically no way to record something that low level. Shotgun mics will be your best bet, but they do pick up a lot of ambient noise. My advice is to not consider the sounds of painting at all and focus on clear voice recordings. I don't know what your videos sound like, maybe a sample would be useful, but I highly doubt anyone is listening to your video loud enough to hear the stroke of a paintbrush on canvas.

I'm pretty sure they are wired in parallel, so the voltage is not additive. Batteries wired in series would double the voltage which is obviously bad. The batteries drain at the same time. They are fairly new batteries, from a year or two ago. So they should be good.

So here’s the situation. I’m running a dual NP cup remote audio BDS system. I use the dual NP cup so I can hotswap batteries and not power down my bag. It’s worked great so far, but the other day it went a little haywire. I was powering two ADX5D and an 888, not a huge load. At about 13.7v reading on my 888 I went to hot swap batteries. I unplugged one NP and the voltage was reading 13.5v and I got a notice from the recorder that voltage was low. When I put a new NP battery into the cup it went straight from reading full to empty. I thought I might have just not charged that one so I tried a second NP and the same thing happened. I took the two dead NPs and put them on charge and immediately they popped back up to full. I took both low voltage NPs out of the cups, put both of the ones I just put on charge in the BDS, without hot swapping with a used battery still in a cup, and they worked fine for the rest of the day. So, is this an issue of there being to wide a spread between voltages of the NPs for a hotswap to work? Like the BDS tries to average the voltage and just ends up sapping the new battery in one second? I’ve done many hotswaps at higher voltages no problem.

I replied to your other post, but I totally agree with this one. I find FB to be mostly toxic and prone to divisive rhetoric and dialogues. I deleted mine 8 years ago and never looked back. JWsound is the way for sure.

I sold my Scoprio a while back, but without question the bag I liked most was the Rack n Bag from Film Devices: https://filmdevices.com/product-category/rack-n-bag-location-sound-bag/ The openness of it is so important for on the fly adjustments. It's not cheap, but it's well worth the money for ease of use IMO.

I don't like the SRc for a lot of reasons, so I don't recommend that. The 822 is expensive and basically no one uses it... tho that doesn't mean it's not a decent receiver. It's just too expensive. You say you're jumping into the Lectro universe, any reason Lectro in particular? Maybe look into Zaxcom or Shure as well.

True, also no showlink or ability to remote control aside form dweedle tone. Lectros are very cost efficient right now which is an advantage. Tho the SRc is still listed for more than the ADX5D which is crazy since the SRc isn't true diversity.
