  1. How about SRb VS 211? any recent user feedback is much appreciated.
  2. Yesterday I had my first job with the Maxx. Previous to the Maxx, I didn’t own a recorder but rented another favorite competitive brand from the usual suspects. My work primarily consists of 1-4 talent, corporate interviews, run & gun and documentaries. After clarifying some confusion with headphone routing which Jack was kind to explain the night before, I had the Maxx prepped with all the correct routing. There are many things that I love about it. First of all when I heard about how clean the pre’s are, I didn’t believe it. I had to hear it and it feels good to own this machine. When it comes to button pushing, I have no complaints. If our livelihood involves our gear then we must know it inside and out and I believe that to be investment that the end user must make. I prefer to have one button for trim and a visual display to go with it. I prefer that it doesn’t overheat. The screen is perfect. I appreciate that it flashed when it wasn’t mirroring, after which I proceeded to enable mirroring on “continuous.” So what if MARF files take quite some room on the CF card? I would rather have and invest in large CF cards than pay the price with a recorder which files could be corrupted upon a power loss or other issue. There are many things I as I said but ultimately every one needs to spend some time and test it for themselves. The only thing I ask is for scene & take numbers and frame rate on the screen. And the only future suggestion is that perhaps one day it will have voice recognition, allowing me to press the slate button and say “format card,” or “record at 23.976” it will do it. One can dream right? J I am glad that I wasn’t quick to judge about previous things with nomad because this is Maxx and I realized months before making my purchase that Zaxcom is at a different stage. My respects to a fine product.
  3. I am wondering about the sensitivity that most are using in general with dpa's but 4061 most importantly. I found 4061 wt low sensitivity paired with 400a to be low. (Makes sense) i am wondering if standard or medium is would be better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. My mistake. Thank you Jack! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. In bus routing when i engage track 3 i loose the other tracks on the headphones aswell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The same thing happened to with a Sandisk 4GB 30mb/s. I couldn't power down so i pulled the power off. I dont know if this is the right thing to do in these cases. I then formatted a new Transcend 32gb 133x and it updating to v1.11 worked.
  7. Congrats Ruben Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. thanks Jason & Senator!
  9. Hi Josh, How far was you tx from your 211 rx, I don't have answers to that question, but like you seeking answers. TY
  10. yes thats what i mean. Thank you Jason
  11. Dont mean to go off topic however wasn't able to find much about the 211 and dipole antennas & distro. I read one antenna is needed per receiver. I wanted to know if there is a benefit to getting 2 dipoles for the 2 receivers in my bag. I just bought those units and i intend to keep them till i can upgrade to SRBs. My other question will i in fact need a distro too and will the dipoles give a significant advantage by using them on the bag. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. As firmware updates roll, will the manual change accordingly for those of us in the waiting list? Ty

  14. I wish the 6ch model without the other goodies would start shipping, please Zaxcom please!!
  15. YES!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. Was just about to call you Larry, Thank you for this! I'm concerned about reading that universal wiring doesn't sound as good as servo is there any reason for this?
  18. I found the answer... Kind off. Still confused on: "The DPA is a two wire mic but is a special case requiring a series current limiting resistor" Hi Peter, There is one line that confused me as to what you meant: "SERVO ONLY wiring uses a 3 wire scheme eg Sanken COS11". I think using the internal 2.7k resistor load on our pin 5 is the confusion. The reason the Servo Only configuration looks like a 3 wire setup is that we bring the third wire to our pin 5 internal resistor and use that resistor instead of having to build it into the TA5F. The servo only wiring for the COS-11 is still a 2 wire setup in the sense that we convert the COS-11, 3 wire setup to a 2 wire configuration. So, in sum, all lavalieres have to be converted to a 2 wire configuration for the Servo Input system. All 2 wire setups are actually 3 wire setups that are "converted" inside the lavaliere itself to a two wire configuration, exactly as we do externally. Also, 99% of the electrets lavalieres out there are a two wire configuration: DPA, Sennheiser, Countryman, Sony, Lectro, and so on. It is just in the sound mixer universe, that there is a very popular 3 wire mic, the COS-11. The DPA is a two wire mic but is a special case requiring a series current limiting resistor. 19. Would appreciate if someone could enlighten me and let me know if the wiring ta5 for DPA 4063 or 4071 the same for um200c as smqv?? Im trying to do my research on this as i type and Larry from lectro is probably sleeping too right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I don't remember if i asked this before, yet is there a digital fader for the 2- aes digital inputs? Thank you ....if i was to use all 6 tracks as isos?
  21. wondering about samples too between 4063 & 4071...
  22. Thanks for the end user feedback Rado. Read somewhere the pres sound better then the nomad. it could be. Yet to my understanding they are the same as the nomads, right?

    Zaxcom- MAXX

@Johnpaul How it sits up is mainly why i ask. Thanks for the info Thought i read somewhere about some brackets on the bottom that will lift it to accommodate xlrs. Or that right angle xlrs will do the trick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
