  1. The Sony MDR7509HD have larger drivers and deliver more bottom end than the 7506. I also like the Beyer DT150 mentioned in the OP, these have the build quality, isolation and easy maintenance of the DT100, but with greatly improved bass response. The only downside to these is their size and weight. HD25s are pretty ubiquitous in the UK, but I don't particularly like them myself.
  2. By the way, where are you guys getting the velour pads for the Sonys? I bought some replacements from Ebay for my 7506s and they were very poor and didn't fit properly!
  3. By way of an update, I have done 6 receivers today and they seem to work very well, I have tried 4 channels only due to limited time but it walks well and the measured sensitivity is on average 2 to 3dB better on the bench than the previous board revision. To put this in perspective 3dB is the same as doubling the transmitter power! Very encouraging indeed... Thanks to Larry and all the engineering team at Lectro for rushing this significantly improved board through so quickly!
  4. I can confirm that Raycom has the first batch of 12 boards now and we will be working over the weekend to upgrade the first wave of SRs we have in our service centre. I'll be doing these myself and will report on results after some testing. Expect to see people walking up and down outside Raycom towers talking to themselves later today! We are hoping to get more boards very soon, watch this space...
  5. Incidentally, the new 232MHz wide transmitters with intermod. cancelling amplifiers will debut around May 2012
