Tried e-mailing Sonosax again ( 4th time now ), they must be busy little bees… Hopefully we will have news soon. knowing if it does mix or not would be really appreciated at this point but i guess i am throwing dust in the wind... Am i the only one, or does long term release strategies getting on every bodies nerves? Getting impatient i guess...

Honestly, I believe that a minimum of the following outs would be needed in order to attract more clients to it: A set of unbalanced outputs ( LR mix ) A set of unbalanced aux outputs ( IFB and boom op ). Also being able to create a mix from the inputs would be a minimum, also from the optional Ad8 preamp module input. If that is the case, I am definitely pre ordering one... Please complete photos set, a more detailed feature list with a description of the user interface ( ex: how to change trim on input, how to PFL individual input etc... ), is really needed in order to make a descision to pre-order... Give us a date please Jacques... Thank you for your great work btw.

I am hanging by a thread ( this one at least ). Been waiting for this machine for a while. I put money aside for it. BUT, if it only handles outputs the way it's predecessor did, I might not be see eager to get one. I personally need at least a pair of stereo out line level and two aux sends ( one Comtek and one for a boom op. Anything less and it might not work for me since it would alter the way I work significantly. Really really hoping for it....

But the question still remains, can the new R4+ mix?

I like the idea for the Red cart. Couples of things I would love for it, would be: 1- all shelves and base to fold so that the cart can be flat if needed. 2- a simple cover setup for the dual smart view monitor ( like a tiny SKB case ), that would protect it against the element and shocks. 3- quick release for the wheels. I'm still unsure if it does actually mix or just record. Meaning does it have a similar architectur as a 664 vs a 788 type.

I bought one and returned it shortly after. Not that it is not a good microphone BUT it isn't what I tought it would be. When I looked at the spec, the polar patern lead me to think that it was as narrow pickup as a CS3e but with a better rear rejection. It does have better rear rejection but not a lot and it is not as narrow as a CS3e which gives it less reach then a CS3e. When it comes down to it, the only reason I wanted a Sanken shotgun was for situation where I needed a longer reach microphone. It turns out that the CS3e is still the most "laser like" microphone for those situations. I still prefer using a more traditional shotgun ( DPA4017b ) or hyper cardiod ( cmc641 ) in 95% of the time. Now if they could only make a CS3e that would be short enough to fit in a Cinela Pianissimo, I could have a single suspension/Zeppelin for my shotguns and not have to carry one for each. Sanken I hope you are listening on this one.

Indeed, but if you don't not like it you can reinstall it easily. It's only a pin that you push out from the side. Use a screw driver and an hammer.

Am I not talking about the unit in between the SRB receivers but the lcd on top of it at an angle...
