  1. Not sure Pinky, but it's definitely important to be at one with your knob........ could this be just a case of knob envy ? Sorry mate, couldn't resist. Cheers, Steve
  2. Great to see people thinking outside the square pinky, however the thing about Antenna's like the ALP650 is that they are directional which may in itself limit the usability of a portable style system fixed to your person. If you are running multiple Radio Mic's and not so much Booming, it may just work if you mounted the ALP650 to a Boom Pole or similar which you could then adjust the direction of easily, irrespective of which way you happen to be facing. Although it is not an amplified Antenna like the ALP650, from what you are describing, I wonder whether you may be better off with a Dipole like the Lectro SNA600a. Cheers, Steve
  3. Hey Pete, Thanks mate, worked a treat......... you're a bloody genius !!! Cheers, Steve
  4. Hi, I just updated FreqFinder (iOS) to the latest version and noticed that all the Lectrosonic information has disappeared.......... I'm assuming this is an oversight, could you please confirm. Cheers, Steve
  5. What type of batteries (assuming they are AA) are you using............. Alkaline, Lithium, Rechargeable ?
  6. "The 788s limiters Are Not Working at 96khz or above." Where did you get that information, was it an earlier firmware restriction ? Here are some Tech Notes about the Limiters............ http://www.sounddevices.com/support/tech-notes/788t-limiter-overview "Beside that, the 788 would be much much more expensive than the deva4" There have been quite a few used 788's popping up since the release of the 688 and the prices are very reasonable.
  7. Personally never tried it.......... but there is nothing to indicate that in the specs.
  8. Ah yes, thought the 633 had 6 pre's, but it's 3 + 3. The Sonosax is a nice machine and very capable, but like the Deva4 it seems more suited to cart work. Also weighs in at nearly 3kgs with batts. Agreed, the 788 is still hard to beat, pre's and limiters are reasonable, will do 192 kHz, has SSD + CF redundancy, rock solid and a proven performer. Other than that, you may be looking for something that doesn't exist yet.
  9. Ummmm, the 633 is a 6 Channel Mixer/Recorder, it will record at 192 kHz and it weighs in at just over 1Kg.
  10. This should tick all the boxes for you............. http://www.sounddevices.com/products/mixers-with-integrated-recorders/633 Cheers, Steve
  11. Most definitely something adrift there mate........... Alexa normally rock solid for hours, also highly unlikely that 2 Alexa's are out. Are you using a Timecode Slate, if so is it consistent with the SD788T or the Alexa's or neither ? Are you re-selecting 'Int TC' as the 'Source' on the Alexa's after jamming ?
  12. You mean like this.............. http://www.sounddevices.com/products/mixers-with-integrated-recorders/688/images
  13. It would appear to me that you have done very well to isolate and therefore prove the unit in question is faulty. A trip to the Mothership with all the same information you posted here should do the trick. Steve
  14. The only XLR7 I've used was on a breakout cable from a 10Pin Hirose connector on an SQN. It was wired as follows: 1 L+ 2 L- 3 R+ 4 R- 5 R Rtn 6 L Rtn 7 Ground Cheers, Steve
  15. Ummmmm, that's why you use a TimeCode Slate !!!
  16. Let's just be clear about one thing……… and it's the most important thing……… any sound recorded on a BMCC will be shit, as it is with all DSLR's etc. With that in mind, you should be recording Double System anyway. With that in mind, all you need is a TimeCode Slate. So really the question is: "Why are you making this so difficult ?"
  17. Double System with TimeCode Slate………. proven, reliable and professional.
  18. Back to the mothership for a new reed switch (magnet triggered switch in bottom stick) most likely.
  19. Justin, whilst you are free to charge what ever you wish, I just want to highlight the fact that your Commercial Rate and Inclusions are way off the mark. You may wish to get in touch with ASSG regarding this as there has been a large amount of discussion regarding Minimum Rates. Cheers, Steve
  20. Well you have certainly done all the logical 'elimination by isolation' steps and presumably you hear both Ch1 on the Left and Ch2 on the Right when the Red Monitor Switch is in the 'MXR' position……. in which case it's most likely the Red Monitor (MXR/AUX) Switch. I would have to agree that if a general blow out doesn't solve it, then unfortunately it sounds like a trip to the mothership is in order.
  21. With the Red Monitor Switch in 'Aux' and the Yellow Monitor Switch in 'Stereo', do you hear Ch2 on both Left and Right or only on the Right ?
  22. The ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) would be a good place to start for all that sort of information David.
