  1. ............. I don't mean using all of them together !!!
  2. With a Foamie, Hi Wind Cover and Wind Jammer you will have almost every conceivable situation covered.
  3. Been using both the system based and iPhone version for some time now and find it very useful here in Oz. The majority of planes are visible and the accuracy is very good, take off and landing patterns are easily observed. Only in paranoid America is the data delayed 5 minutes, which makes it next to useless.
  4. Roso, As it is a subjective question, why don't you hire an MKH70 for a day and give it a good work out. IMO, you will be far from disappointed, 'Thin and Muddy' are definitely not two words that come to mind.
  5. Love my MKH70P, incredible reach and amazing rejection. An absolute must in my Mic. collection.
  6. Rycote System is superior.
  7. Also easily changed after using Wave Agent.
  8. "You may also want to consider Zaxcom wireless while you're at it. The audio quality is arguably better than Lectrosonics, if that is what you are after." Seriously Mark, making comments like that won't enhance your credibility one little bit. At this point you should probably disclose any affiliations that you have with Zaxcom.
  9. I've got 411a's on Block 26 and R1a's on Block 24 with no problems at all.
  10. Sorry, didn't know they were SMDB/SMQV's. If you have swapped the tx's and the power leads and the problem follows the eliminator, then logic would suggest it has to be the eliminator.
  11. A bit left field but try adding a layer of cardboard or similar between the eliminator and the door to put a little more pressure on the contacts. I know that some of the older Lectro's had issues like that.

  13. If all else fails, replace the connector/s. Connectors or more specifically the pins can wear with constant plugging and unplugging and have been known to cause that crackling sound.
  14. Hahaha, so many comedians !!! Clearly there are no JWSound technical guidelines for "acceptable nobby material" here then.
  15. "I'm not trying to bite Mr. Foy's head off, but his responses had attitude attached. A simple explanation would have sufficed." Gee Mark, who made you the 'attitude police' ? "If you have anything else to say about limiters, make your point clear. No one will appreciate your arrogant responses." Wow, talk about pot kettle black ! Just to make it crystal clear, I wasn't trying to offend anyone and as I stated up front, "I don't wish to in anyway demean 'NeverClip' technology" but I make no apology for challenging what appeared to me and others here (Rofin, Wyatt Tuzo, macrecorder, Armin Siegwarth, karl191, soundslikejustin and J1mbo) as a conveniently unfair comparison. I must say I am really at a complete loss as to how anyone could misinterpret my comments as suggesting that "a limited signal sounds better than an unlimited signal" or that "I like the sound of limiting" let alone that I was somehow "insinuating that users here are ignorant of the benefits and operation of limiters" when essentially all I said was "that it should be noted that there are enormous variations in results based on the limiter in use and how it was used." Anyway, at the risk of sounding arrogant and attaching attitude, it appears that a few people here allow their emotional attachment to a particular piece of equipment or technology overrule the objective analysis section of their brain.
  16. +1 Well put, thank you J1mbo
  17. Not sure how you would come to that conclusion if you had actually read my post.
  18. Then Mark, you too are completely missing my point !!!
  19. "Comparing apples to apples (to MY ear) Neverclip sounds leaps and bounds better to that same level signal going through a limiter." Then Matt, you are completely missing my point !!!
  20. "I hope that everyone gets to hear the difference between audio that is hitting an analog hard limiter and audio that comes out of our Neverclip input." Sorry, but that is very misleading comment and smells of product centric bias. Whilst I don't wish to in anyway demean the 'Neverclip' technology, it should be noted that there are analog limiters and then there are analog limiters and the variations in results are enormous. It should also be noted that the use of limiters in any mixing/recording environment is largely dependant on how they are used. For example, a skilled mixer/recordist can lightly ride the limiters on an SQN mixer all day long and you would be hard pressed to ever hear the difference.
  21. In order of preference........... Rycote, Rycote, Rycote !!!
