  1. Congratulations Michael! All The Best!
  2. Hi Angelo, The MSRP for the GR-2 is $800.
  3. Dcode® GR-2 Time Code Generator is now available! February 2012 - Denecke, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of its latest master time code generator, the Dcode® GR-2, which replaces the GR-1. The GR-2 reads, generates and jams to all the standard frame rates including 23.976 for High Definition Video. The Timecode I/O is on a 5 pin Lemo connector. An additional Timecode output is provided via a BNC connector. The temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) ensures low drift. Please contact your Denecke Dealer for more details. High stability, ease of use and Denecke’s reputation for manufacturing high quality products make the GR-2 a welcome addition to any sound package.
  4. Hi Derek, We will look into a Android version of the app. Best Regards, Charlie
  5. Hi Mark, Thanks for the feedback. The app is still a work in progress so we appreciate your suggestions. The error message on the slate is due to the jitter on the TC signal out of the ipad. This is due to the very limited stability of the iDevices crystal. In this case ignore the error. We are working on a future software update for the TS-3 and TS-C to increase the sample time and hopfully avoid the error message. Yes, you can use the app to jumpstart your devices Thanks again! Best Regards, Charlie
  6. Hi John, Yeah, that's one way to look at it. Best Regards, Charlie
  7. Hi Vin, Yes, the TC input is through the heahphone/mic. We will post wireing diagrams on our website soon. Best Regards, Charlie
  8. Hi everyone, I trust that you all had a great Holiday Season and wish you all the best in 2012. Here is another freeTC app for the iPhone\iPad to add to your arsenal. http://itunes.apple....60306?mt=8&ls=1 The Denecke TimeCode ToolBox app is designed to Read & Generate LTC time code using your mobile iDevice (running iOS 5.x or higher). The time code reader features a level meter and wave form analyzer (helpful for trouble shooting cables, etc). The incoming time code frame rate is flagged as well. The Time code generator is capable of generating all of the standard frame rates and defaults to the current time of day. User bits default to the current date. The generator can also be set to user select values. Due to the low stability of the iDevice's time base (crystal), this app is not recommended for use as a Master Clock and should only be used to "jump start" devices such as a Denecke Dcode Sync Box or Slate. Enjoy! Best Regards, Charlie
  9. Hi everyone, Let me try to clarify what is going on. The LTC stream @ 29.970fps and 23.976fps on the Zaxcom machines have jitter in the signal. This results in the TS-C and TS-3 slates identifying the code as either 30fps or 24fps. You do not need to replace your slates. Simply set the rotary dial to position 1 (29.970 NDF) or position 4 (23.976). You will see the "Sync Err" message. Simply ignore it. The slates and Zaxcom machines will stay in perfect sync with each other. DO NOT use "auto set" (position 5) with these two frame rates as there will be TC drift! I want to emphasize that the Zaxcom TC is stable\accurate. It is just the signals jitter that is causing this issue. I hope this helps! Best Regards, Charlie
  10. Hi Chris, I have seen those before, but I don't know where they come from. I'd be interested to know as well so that we can pass along the information. Contact us if you need the Slate dimensions. Best Regards, Charlie
  11. Wow, it's been over a year now since I posted about the update! I have been tied up trying to get the GR-2 out the door, so unfortunately there are no new updates yet. I hope to touch base with Zaxcom (to see if there have been any changes on their end) soon and get this project completed. Sorry for the delay.... Sometimes I have too many plates spinning. Best Regards, Charlie
  12. Hi Brian, Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately we have been delayed due to some supplier lead times. We should have it available soon. Sorry for the delay. Best Regards, Charlie
  13. Yes, the maximum amount of current the power supply can draw from a battery or external power source. Best Regards, Charlie
  14. Hi everyone, The Denecke PS-1A and PS-2 draw approximately 10X the load current from the battery or external power source . Actually a bit less, but 10X is a good reference to use to calculate the battery life. So for example, a 2mA microphone will draw about 20mA from the battery. Using two 10mA mics with a PS-2 will draw about 200mA. This will obviously drain a 9 Volt battery pretty quickly . In this situation an external power source should be used. If it is not practical or possible to use external power in this situation, then the PS-2 would not be a good choice to use. I hope this clears things up! Best Regards, Charlie
  15. Hi Chase, It sounds like the EL power supply may have gone out in the slate, or the overlay needs to be replaced. Best Regards, Charlie
  16. I agree with Jason. I used the up\down feature quite a bit in the old forum. No big deal if we lose it though. Best Regards, Charlie
  17. The GR-2 size is 3.2 (W) X 2.9 (D) X 1.6 (H) (inches) and weighs 0.5 lbs with batteries.
  18. We are hoping to have the units ready for purchase by late June/July.
  19. Thank you Fernando, Saludos! It's looking more like late June at the moment. We are at the mercy of the lead time from our vendors (PCB and Boxes) and I still need to finish up the software.
  20. Hi Michael, Yes it will have the "hold" function, but it is still TBD if it will store them in memory. Best Regards, Charlie
  21. David, you are correct. The battery holders are not interchangeable. The black holders are a little longer than the white holders. I believe that Tom was using the wrong holder with his slate. @Tom: You are welcome! We are happy to help.
  22. Thanks Glen! We will keep the GU mode in the GR-2. Best Regards, Charlie
  23. We adhere to the "standard" LEMO pinout that all of the audio manufacturers use: Pin 1 = Ground Pin 2 = TC In Pin 5 = TC Out Charlie
  24. Hi Guys, The GR-2 is still a work in progress. I will have the prototype with me at NAB. We are planning for a release date sometime in May\June and a list price somewhere in the $600 - $800 range. Here is a sneak peek. (Not sure if the pic posted correctly - It looks better if you download the pic). Best Regards, Charlie
