  1. Hi Bernardo, That should work fine. Just make sure that you let post know that your backup is at 29.97. Best Regards, Charlie
  2. Robert is correct, 9 Volt batteries simply cannot supply enough current to drive the display for long periods of time (compared to AA batteries). As long as you keep this in mind, you'll be O.K.
  3. Have you tried flipping the cable over? It sounds like the cable may not be wired for bidirectional communication.
  4. We relaesed the 23.976fps software somewhere around 2003 or so. If your TS-3 is older than this time frame then a software update is necessary. I going by memory (I'm not at the shop now) but I think that if you have software version 1.5 or higher, you are good to go.
  5. Congrats Robert! That was a good read.
  6. Robert is correct, but his terminology is wrong. Video camera's do not accept (lock to) Word Clock. They lock to a video reference. WC is used to sync audio sampling clocks. I hope this helps. Best Regards, Charlie
  7. Robert, Conji is still in business. I just spoke with her last week and she does indeed make the TC slate Custom plates. I'm not sure if Don Earl is still around though. Best Regards, Charlie
  8. Hi Dan, Not sure if this is what you are referring to, but we always send our customers to Congi. Contact me off site for her number (not sure if she'd want her # posted in a public forum). I have no idea what she charges. Best Regards, Charlie
  9. Wow, that looks very similar to a TS-1! Pretty interesting though....
  10. Hi Hugh, It sounds like the NTG-1 may have been out of regulation. Did you notice if the LED on the PS-2 was ON? I couldn't find the power requirements for the NTG-1.... I'll keep looking. The NTG-3 is rated at 44-52V min, 5mA. This is well within the PS-2 specs. There may be something going on with the power supply. Send it in to us and we'll check it out.
  11. Rich and Robert, Thanks for the kind words. It is an honor to keep Mike's legacy going. Charlie
  12. Thanks for the info Tim! We'll keep this in mind as well. Best Regards, Charlie
  13. Hi Tom, The TS-2's don't have the RF issue. There may be something else going on with it (typically battery holders). We'll check it out for you as well. We are shutting down for the Holidays from the 23rd to the 5th. We can turn them around in a day or two, as long as you don't send them in during the Holiday. Best Regards, Charlie
  14. Hi Tom, Send it in and we'll take care of it for you. Early model TS-Cs suffer from RF interference from some Walkies. Best Regards, Charlie
  15. Congrats Jeff!! All the Best to you and your Family.
  16. Congratulations Jeff!! Enjoy every minute of it.
  17. This is correct. The issue was not the equipment, but how the equipment was set up. This will work as well.I always like to caution people to make sure that the slate is not "tricked" into the wrong frame rate due to excessive jitter in the TC. I have seen this in the newer generation of the Devas. So for example, when feeding the slate (in auto set mode) 30fps TC make sure that the slate flags it as CODE30. Feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions or issues. Best Regards, Charlie
  18. Hi Philip, You are exactly right. In fact we have never claimed the color sticks to be used as a color reference. We thought it looked cool and when asked, I always tell people that they are cosmetic. Actually, I don't recall anyone ever requesting this. I am sure that if this is a real issue we can look into an alternative. Peter Litomiski made our sticks for quite a few year. His son Robert is making them for us now. Best Regards, Charlie
  19. Thanks sb! I completely missed that! I now "officially" like the new look.
  20. FWIW I like the new look. The only thing I miss is the "Read New Post" (or whatever it was) Link. But that is no big deal.
  21. Hi Guys, The one frame delay is only present with the TS-2SB and TS-1. Basically, since these slates are "Readers" they can display the TC only after the 80 bits have been received. Therefore, the one frame offset. Note that while the Sync Box in the TS-2 is frame accurate, the Slate electronics are still a reader (originally TS-1). On the newer generation slates (TS-3 & TS-C), this offset is not present since it is completely processor controlled. You will have a one frame offset in read mode. However, they can display in time by enabling the +1 frame read function. As for the Red One Camera, I believe there is something else going on for it to be one frame late. Best Regards, Charlie
  22. Hi Jeff, I go straight to the "show unread post" link. I don't believe it has failed me yet. I tend to log in a few times a day, so that may have something to do with it. I think that you have a great forum here and I enjoy reading and (ocasionally) posting in it. There's not much to tweak as far as I'm concerned! Best Regards, Charlie
  23. Hi Mike, The SB-T is designed to drive a single 75 Ohm load. By splitting the signal in two, you reduce the load resistance by 1/2. This will reduce the video signal levels. I doubt that the cameras will be able to lock to the reference at a lower level than expected. It all depends on the design. Scott's suggestion may work as well if you can't get a hold of a second box. Best Regards, Charlie
  24. Hi Alex, You can certainly power your TS-C with 9 Volt batteries, but as Sergio mentions, you won't get as much life out of them. The 9 Volt cells can't supply the same amount of mAh. Best Regards, Charlie
