  1. When the new mac pro comes out might be the time that thunderbolt really takes off since right now the mac pro doesnt have any thunderbolt port
  2. It seems like a pretty nice piece of gear. Anyone does not like it so far?
  3. I havent had a problem with them, usually the sound is pretty good. Mic sensitivity low is best (-20 or -30) depending how you miced. I've run them on mixer or sometimes straight in the camera with clear results, just remember that receiver output is line not mic.
  4. Thanks for you advice guys. I think I will keep my current setup for now and wait until I hear what people have to say about the 664 before I make a decision. By then the 552 will most likely be even cheaper than it is now. I do mostly dialogue so I almost never go over 48K, and I'd love to have one piece of equipment that does all I need. But I think right now the best option is to wait. kl: There is a 744t+442 for sale on CL right now for 3100$ in culver city.
  5. Hi guys, Ok so I just bought a 744t like 3 months ago, and now they are coming out with the 664 mixer that has great recording capabilities. There is literally an avalanche of 744t and 552 mixers on the market right now at prices way lower than what I paid a few months ago for mine. You could find a 744t+442 for 3000$ in LA right now, that's about what I paid for the 744t alone. So now the question is for me, do I keep my 744t or do I sell it and get a 664 when it comes out? The 664 records 6 tracks while the 744t only four. What features from my 744t would I regret if I did that? The only thing I could see is the 744t menu which is easily navigable. The other option I could have is to profit from all the 552 selling right now and get one which would also give me 6 recording tracks. Selling the 744t to buy a 664 would cost me around 1500-2000$. Buying a 552 with my 744t would cost me about the same price. So what should I do?
