  2. Hi all documentary. ENG recordists and Boom operators who don't use internal cabling on their boom. Having been a boom operator, Doc and feature film recordist for some years (30) and knowing the problem of loose cables wrapped round the boom, I decided to think about a clip which would hold the cable in place hands free. I thought I had got it when I thought of rope cleats as used in sailing there were quite a few nice small designs so I ordered them. But they did not work. the cable was too stiff and the cleats had quite a high profile which would have prevented one putting the boom in a protective boom case. After some weeks I thought of the idea of a concentric clip in springy material and the Cobraclip was born. Cinesonics, the company I own with Joaquim Pinto In Lisbon now manufactures and distributes this device. We hope to gain Trew Audio to distribute in USA and Canada. In Germany of course Ambient will sell it for us. Here is a link to our first video and a pdf of the Cobraclip description and instructions. any feedback and comments very welcome, mail to,Info@cinesonics.pt, This is our first product but there will be others following soon. You also might like to look at our site in portuguese, www.cinesonics.pt, and yes, Helga and myself, she a sound editor, became winemakers! www.vinhoscortem.com, also a pic of one of my first jobs as boom op in 1974, has anything changed!
