  2. The job has been filled. Thanks to all who replied.
  3. It's a business first, and art form second. Don't worry about someday. Worry about now, and pleasing your client today. Being difficult, even if you are trying to make things better, will give you a negative reputation. Give the client what they want. Make them happy, even if your not.
  4. I wonder why you can't own studio lights?
  5. A producer that I have worked with more than once needs someone Saturday May 11 near Newark, NJ. His budget is $500 all for a boom, recorder and wireless hop to camera. It's usually about a 5 to 6 hour very easy day. More waiting than working. Bring a W-9 and the check shows up in about two weeks. If interested I can pass on contact info. 6. Good thing you found it. If the bomb squad had, it would be in a million pieces by now.
  7. Has anyone used the Pre-D to feed the stereo tracks 7&8 on the DR-680? My 680 sees the Pre-D aes on digital inputs 5&6 but will lock but not pass audio for tracks 7&8. Thanks.
  8. And I'll have to register my pressure cooker and show three forms of ID to buy a box of nails to fix the deck.
  9. The quality of the SD mic pre amps will surpass those of the Tascam and many other recorders. The limiter will also out perform the 680. I own the DR680 and multiple SD recorders and mixers. There is no comparison. If you go with the Mix Pre-D you can feed the 680 a digital stream that is pure audio from the Pre-D. If you ultimately add wireless gear, you can feed those line level to the 680.
  10. B&H, Adorama, Amazon. Just drop Remin Tri-Kart 800 in your search engine. Great carts.
  11. Who's the production mixer in Atlanta for the x friggen x shoot that starts Tuesday with RW?
  12. There is a small cluster of Travellers just over the South Carolina line out of Augusta. They may have headed north for construction by now though. I'm also in Atlanta is you pass through.
  13. Training is at outside pools and limited dialog. Mostly coach talking. Competition is interior with hand held interview style. (Think DWTS)
  14. Depending on where you are, there may also be sales tax due on the equipment rental.
  15. But not a single Subway, Tuna or otherwise.
  16. Just don't forget to take the Zoom and a boom too.
  17. Russian crew films epic at Fort Ross http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Russian-crew-films-epic-at-Fort-Ross-4334755.php The heroes are Dimitri, a Russian television journalist, and Margo, a glamorous sound engineer.
  18. Ask for the serial number. It it's gear from major supplies, especially Sound Devices or the like, run the number by them. If the deal is too good, it's probably one to run from.
  19. The manual says to connect both time code AND external video reference. Does anyone know if you can just feed time code to lock the two clocks?
  20. I'm still trying to figure this one out: "I need a Film/production crew to assist in a reality show project I need some one with immaculateediting skills ability to freeze background while live performance is in camera view. This again is for a reality show that will premeire on a major network- Looking for someone that is up and coming and looking to get their name out there and will put hard work and dedication to the project to make sure their company is successful once its picked up on the network the crew is paid as part of the budget for crew. Your hard work is a MUST. "
  21. A device you use when gaff tape won't do the job.
