I haven't used them, but he seemed to be in tune with sound mixers needs and was very willing to discuss any services that we needed, so may be worth a call. They are in the UK but provide services worldwide. Hello all. We have finally nailed down a location for the RAMPS get-together at NAB. It is in the same complex we have been in for the last few years, but on the right side as you enter rather than the left. I know the parking there can suck, but is has provided some entertainment over the years, too. I will be there around 6:00pm for anyone who wants to get an early drink, but we will wait until at least 7pm to start any "organised" festivities. We have only 40 who have registered so far, I hope more of you end up coming. Hello all RAMPers and JWSOUNDERS, I have managed to confirm what I suspected was the case. Dragonfly on Paradise has closed, so I need to know what the group wants to do. It seems that we could go back to Firefly's, but we were outgrowing them as I remember, and last year they were not wanting to really deal with us at all, and double booked the deck on us which is why we ended up at Dragonfly. So here is the question: Where does the group want to meet? I know Vegas pretty well, and can find a place, but would like feedback from everyone on what they want. Is location near the LVCC a higher consideration than food type / space/ drink specials etc etc. Or if anyone knows a great place that is cool also. I have the ones from Filmtools and even without the velcro closed, thet hold the pole extremely well, I've never had a problem on a move even with a fully loaded pole. In fact, it is hard to get the pole in sometimes as even though it is the large size, it is very tight with the KTek boom I usually use, my old VdB is a bit better. Dave

All right, the RAMPS party is on. I spoke with Firefly's and, while I am waiting on a return call from the catering manager, the one I spoke with today assured me that it would not be a problem to accomodate us on the 15th of April, 5ish to ?, the deck is ours. They will have drink and appetizer specials, as well. For those have never been, Firefly's is at 3900 Paradise Rd # A Las Vegas, NV 89169 Plan to throw $20 into a hat as in last year to cover food an drink til it runs out. We can celebrate/commiserate tax day for yhe US citizens. Ps if anyone wants an alternative location that is fine with me but it seemed to be getting late so I wanted to sew something up. They have some nifty mounts and swing arms that can be easily modified for cart use at www.jottodesk.com I don't use them on the cart but I do use them in my car and truck, they are solidly made and will last, but can be a bit pricey. Cheers, Dave

Unfortunately, this kinds of gets the same result as putting bars on the windows of a house: It tells the thieves that there is something inside worth taking. When I bought my grip trailer and had it painted to say "Dave's Sewer Clean-out Service" so far no one has messed with it. Dave Edgar
