  1. DIY with 2 AA dummies, 1 AA with lead to USB and a powerbank. thats what I use on a 742 which takes 3xAA
  2. it’s a bit hidden now: http://www.panamic.net/portfolio/53-5850/ scroll down for the pdf
  3. Just finished shooting day #50 of season 3 today. Glad you like it! It will get even more complex and confusing
  4. I‘m in contact with the guys from Canford. They use the same fibre and tools as in 2007. Next step is they contact their supplier to check if they have changed anything in the recipes of the fibre. I doubt that.
  5. I have swapped all components but the fibers from my old (non creaking) pole to the new pole: still creaky Seems to be the carbon/ fibre itself?! Also - with Panamic you‘ve got adjustable endstops. So there shouldn’t be any play left. Even if I adjust the end stop very wide so I can barely slide the segment in and out - it still creaks. If I have my ear next to the last segment I can hear those creaks very prominent. Sounds like inside the pole.
  6. I have sent back the first 3seg 3 month ago. They told me they could not reproduce the problem but sent a new one nonetheless. The new one „seemed“ to be fine in the beginning but now creaks too. what FB group is it in? I‘m in various groups too - maybe I can search within the given group?
  7. Constantin - when did you buy yours? My 4seg is maybe 1-2 years old. The 3 seg a few weeks. The 4seg is harder to force to creak but will eventually under certain conditions.
  8. 620-650 was unusable at times. Shot just outside Rome next to an army base apparently.
  9. after further testing: it all depends how wide you grab the pole. If the boom op needs a lot of movement back and forth within his arms and therefore got his hands pretty close to each other (less than 50cm) the creaking becomes very noticeable. The wider you get the grip the less creaking we get. It should not be like that?! Or is that normal with all newer Panamics? Did they change material? The old one does not show this behavior.
  10. after years of using a Panamic Maxi boom pole I wanted to get my boom-op a new one. Bought a 3-segment Maxi-pole that turned out to be noisy regardless of our adjustments of the end stops. Every minor twist or turn was audible and my boom op would feel that "clong" within the pole. Sent it back to Panamic where it was replaced by a new one although they could not replicate our problem. The new one was fine for the first few days. Now it gives us headache too. It feels like the pole is working in itself, finding the new centre of gravity. You turn the last segment (the one with the rubberized material) for a cue by a quarter or something and right after the next segment seems to twist within the pole making a audible knock. It´s driving me nuts. If anyone got any idea as to what is going on - please let me know. Matthias
  11. I think we found the culprit: Video has a DIY video switch in front of the monitor input to switch between A and B cam. It’s passive but not shielded whatsoever. Going straight from one Teradek into the monitor- all good. Vid needs to build a shielded version ...
  12. when director is using a handheld monitor with 2 Teradek receivers mounted he gets very harsh wooshes on his IFB receiver. Tested with different freqs on my side. It seems to be just the close distance creates heavy interference. Video dep claims the cables to be proper shielded on their side. wraping the IFB RX in black wrap doesn’t help cant wrap the Teradeks as their body is the antenna any ideas?? Matthias
  13. Just decode them back from XY to MS (your 2 original signals) X=M+S Y=M-S to get your M just do X+Y to get your S do X-Y (use 180’ phase)
  14. using Sennheiser EK1039 here. Listener can choose which feed they like by pressing just one button which switches freq back and forth between the two. One is live from me the other is after VV (in Sync with pic and also good for playback). Doing drama not commercial
  15. it´s a battle out there for sure: https://soundandpicture.com/2019/06/when-they-see-us-jan-mclaughlin/
  16. can’t tell. The cable was replaced by Kortwich at one point. The actual mic might be already 10 years old. So just the way it is?
  17. I noticed that one of my 4063 is more hissy than the others. Is that age? Could cleaning do help?
  18. how is noisefloor on your 6060 compared to 4063? My ones are way more hissy than my old 4063. To be more specific, I have to apply more gain on the TRX to get equal levels those bringing up the noise floor. I thought my B6s got pretty high noise floor but compared to the 6060 it’s way better. All of this tested on Zaxcom ZMTs.
  19. time for some binge watching again! season 2 is on Netflix now:
  20. You can also use an USB power bank and 2 AA dummies & 1 AA with leads soldered to an USB connector. That’s what I use my 742 with in stereo exactly for the same purpose you do
