  1. hello i had a problem with a filtered anntena which turned out to be the filtered anntena had been stood on and the filtered anntena board cracked at the anntena connection..just a thought, hope you get it sorted soon Richard
  2. Hi John Thanks much appreciated, i have sent ian an e-mail, here in uk i have tried a lectro sra with my zaxcom hop and sd 788t and i am struggling to get them to work together. thanks Richard Paterson
  3. hello managed to do a few tests, all the broadband noise seems to be coming from the sta150, when the sta150 is removed the scan is very clean, is there a way to screen the sta150 any better, hoping glenn might chip in? , does the 5 pin need to be wired shell to earth as well?, tried powering on batts and external power, with and without the filtered anntena and the broadband noise definetly seems to be from the sta150..any help much appreciated..i cant be the only one desperate to have the zaxcom live with other makes of receivers in a bag set up.. many thanks richard paterson
  4. hello wondering if there is ayone using wysycom radio mics out there, and if so what are their thoughts on them. http://www.raycom.co.uk/mcr42.html many thanks richard paterson
  5. hello i have been chasing the same rf spray problem with my brand new lectro block 24 sra and my zaxcom block 26 with filtered anntena, in the bag they are separated as much as possible and filtered anntena as high as it can go on harness and when scanning on sra the broadband noise is same with or without the filtered anntena and if anntena is removed completely the scan is almost the same so the trx/sta150 itself is generating all the broadband noise, when i use the filtered anntena there is a tiny 1.2mhz null in the scan where i can use the lectro's but i reckon my lectro's are about 1/2 range when using zaxcom hop than when hard wired, is the only answer for a cleanish bag rf wise to use zaxcom receivers for talent as well?, or does anyone have another black magic trick:) tried powering everything seperately, disconnected inputs from mixer scan pretty much the same.. i had the old stereoline transmitter for last 4 years and it didnt seem to cause as much problemsin a bag setup as the trx/sta150.. have to say the audio quality of the trx /sta is outstanding tho.. thanks richard
  6. thanks for the reply's much appreciated, does the audio levels on Nano flash meters match tose on camera pretty much, will be using a panasonic hdx 900 and remeber reading somewhere about a mismatch of levels.. thanks again richard
  7. hello does anyone have any experience of whether the nanoflash when mounted on a camera de sensitises the rf inputof a wireless hop receiver mounted on the camera specifically a zaxcom receiver, does the nanoflash emit any rf hash? and generally any pitfalls to watch with using nanoflash and Wireless hop..i wont get a chance to test till the shoot actually starts.. many thanks in advance for any help Richard Paterson
  8. hello, i will need to do a new test as well, if you power receiver up holding up and down keys? on receiver you get into advanced menu and you can see actual rf on each channel as a number, i seem to remember walking to a certain far distance and noting rf level numbers, then did test again with the filtered anntena and the numbers were about the same, its a mut point with me as i need the filtered anntena not to kill everything in the bag, when it first came out i remember reading somewhere it had a 3db gain but i dont think that can be true, has anyone seen any specs for the filtered anntena anywhere? thanks richard
  9. Hello Neumann had a new PCB board for the KM185 which cleaned up all RF not sure about KM120 etc, however i got rid of the RF from the zaxcom on my KMR 82 using the neutrik ecm xlr http://www.neutrik.com/us/en/audio/204_1603252336/EMC-XLR_Series_productlist.aspx make sure you wire the ecm xlr as per neuriks instructions, if you dont they dont work, they also cleaned up zaxcom RF on my sanken cs-1. i noticed neumann recommend that pin 1 be connected to shield in female xlr mating with the microphone. richard
  10. Hello I have bought and used the Pegz1F, PEGZ 2 and the KT systems bag for 788t/cl8, the Pegz 2 is too big unless for a drama type shoot i feel , i can get it all in the Pegz 1f but only 3 x lectro receivers and they sit in a row next to my belly, however this seems to be a place for more RF spray, the Kt systems i have used for a year but not happy with it, so have taken the plunge with the Portabrace AR788CL8 ( i realise portabrace doesnt seem to be too popular on this forum) i modified the bag so that the radio mic multi/e bag is fixed at the bottom to the recoder bag and now doesnt seperate from the recorder bag- swing away etc, which is the reason i stopped using portabrace in the first place it seems to all fall apart ie the radio mic bag pulls away from the mixer bag,, i modified the petrol side pouch clips onto the side of the petol radiomic multi/e bag and it works a treat, so i can have two pouches either side of bag, it is same size as pegz1f in width but i can get 5 radio mics 6 with a squeeze( UCR 310'S) plus IEM TX 2nd np-1 without using the side pouches, one side pouch gets used for a zaxcom Hop TX other a spare at moment, only been using it a week or so so its very early days yet, but i seem happy with it so far, will try and upload some pics next week. Richard
  11. hello erik here is attached schematic hope it makes sense. transformer is neutrick ntm4 1:4 ratio it all fits inside snug in a neurtik little box they sell, the box i made up sends signal to either left or right not both that was intentional for what i wanted. richard
  12. Hi erick i will post shematic hopefully over the weekend , need to open it up as i cant find original drawing to get values of a resistor and capacitor..works a treat and takes balanced input... richard
  13. hello like jason i made my own box up for mix bus inputs in it i put an isolating transformer 1:4 ratio gives about 6db boost, just a thought. richard
  14. hello here in the UK , after about 4 years gap klectros are legally for sale again but you can only purchase the SRa's, i have 6 x lectro 310's which i will be replacing this year prob in the summer, has anyone tried using the lectro inline rf filters for a specific block ( http://www.gnarlywireless.com/lectrosonicsweb/manuals/PF25td.pdf) with the SRa's using ext anntena's ie dipoles in bag for talents mics and not Hops, and does it help the SRa's Rf front end ?? if that makes sense ie rejecting anything outwith the Block required.. many thanks Richard Paterson
  15. Hello don i am using sanyo 2700mha and getting 3 hrs 15min or Enerigiser lith aa and getting approx 4 1/2 hrs, looking to maybe make up a battery pack to mount on receiver, havent got round to it yet. Richard
  16. Hi Oleg thanks as always, ...the problem is the camera's are all using the EX-3/1 own batterries, looking for something generic i can use when camera gets pulled out from bag..hence jimmy box...here is pic of a mount i made for Z1 etc but sits too far back on ex-3 so puts a strain on the microphone holder with bounce.. otherwise it worked fine thanks again richard
  17. hello wondering if anyone using the 'Jimmybox' or 'shape box' for mounting zaxcom etc receiver under a sony EX-1 or EX-3, and also what are you using to mount receivers on EX-1 when Nanoflash etc is fitted..receiver in a belt bag is not an option.. many thanks in advance Richard paterson
  18. thanks oleg thats what i thought wiring wise, but can only hear ch1 only not a mono sum of ch1 and ch2.. thanks again richard
  19. hello yes you need to double check ta5 for sta150 it is pin 4 ch2 -ve and pin 5 +ve not the same as a normal 5 pin stereo mic wiring, cable i received was pin 4 +ve and pin 5-ve and ch1 and ch 2 were out of phase, in zaxcom manual sta ta5 is pin1 earth, pin 2 ch +ve, pin 3-ve, pin 4 ch2-ve, and pin 5 ch2 +ve..while we are on zaxcom wiring anyone know what wiring is for tc/audio 3.5mm socket on sta150 cant find it anywhere..is it tip=ch1 only and you cant monitor ch2 at all?, posted on zaxcom users group but no reply so far.. thanks richard
  20. Hello i was wondering if anyone was using the DA-CAPPO DA04 in the field on a daily basis and if so how they find it ? many thanks in advance richard
  21. hello here is pouch before i cleaned up the cut out and put a clear screen in which velcro's so i can take it out to cool TX or if it is not raining which here it is every day hope some help will try and take a pic of it mounted on KT Systems bag.. richard
  22. hello i use the trx90aa with sta150 on a kt systems bag, i have modified a petrol pouch, i adapted the locking mount on petrol bag cutting out the mount on the locking plate you get with the double pouch purchase and drilled out 4 holes cable tied it to the join where kt sytems bag clip together.. then cut holes for cables etc on petrol you will need to cut the elastic as well i then cut a window on front of pouch for viewing and air vent etc , i built my own neoprene pouch for receiver, thing to watch is keep the filtered anntenna dry always when its on a strap or harness it gets lashed with rain if rain gets into the sma connector it will effect your range etc.., also watch camera operators stepping on strap and snapping filtered anntena in two...not once but twice.. Richard
  23. hi oleg yes i use the mono switch for phase check etc, the earpiece cushions are soft leather and you need to dry out when they get wet otherwise the leather cracks, i use huggies on top of them really great headphones...Richard
  24. hi, dont all laugh at once.............., i own sony 7506 and a couple of pairs of hd25 mark 2's but the headphones i prefer and always come back to are pioneer djse-dj5000 headphones which i stripped off the cushion pads for leaning on shoulder so less and think they are great headphones approx £115GBP cheaper on ebay from hong kong etc... they go down to 5hz which can over make boom handling sound a bit worse but not a problem, but in high winds which is where i am filming you get almost zero wind getting into headset eirpieces which cant be said for the 7506's even with huggies etc..worth a listen.. Richard
