  1. Zoom dont even offer a repair service for their products..the cedar price is to make it worth while to both companies since cedar will be losing sales of the stand alone unit IMHO..
  2. A thing about the hirose adaptors to remember is that when you connect an ext dc battery to the hirose connector they are akways powered on as the dc regulator in the adaptor. Is always on so will slowly drain your ext battery overnight etc so always disconnect ext batt when not being used.
  3. Yes that would work..in set up you currently have src needs to be unbal out pin 1 and 2 only on ta3 and you lose 6db gain going unbal from SRC..by going thru a transformer isolator you keep full gain as its balaced in from src and unbal out via trandformer so no gain drop..it is more bulk to put in your bag tho 2 x Ice Cube..and if using other transformers isolating make sure they can handle the full line level out from the SRC, the Radial Ice Cube says it can handle pro line level so you would be good to go with 2 x Radial Ice cube iso..
  4. Hi I'm assuming in the camera you would be recording M onto ch1 and S onto ch2.. and the signal will be matrices in the edit to L\R stereo..with m and s when you mono the signal the S disappears so if you had 2 people and it sounded good as they were picked up on the S love that will disappear when monied..you never recorded dialogue on the S lobe for this reason the m capsule has to capture all the dialogue. The s capsule will also pick up a lot of camera handling noise..the MSH10 is quick bulky diameter wise so the sanken will fit better..sanken do a hypercardiod version of the cms 50 I can't remember the model no tho. Thanks
  5. Hi Derek i havent but i know the MSH8 has a slightly better stereo image for music etc but no reach being cardiods..but i cant rate the MSH10 high enough the M hypercardiod capsule sounds great ive compared to my mkh50 on sit down interviews etc and its on a par with the Mkh50 inc s/n which is a lot lower than the specs suggest -13db for M capsule the 16db is the S capsule..ive used outside for normal booming instead of a 416 etc and the reach is great..which is how i use it normal dialogue in docs with stereo atmos or actuality when i need it..and very light on boom fits a rycote windjammer 2 kit unfortunately just tad too long for the rycote windjammer 1 kit.
  6. Hi Dietrich, my Pearl MSH10 was sensitive to RF from.my zaxcom.hop/cell phones etc..Pearl redesigned a new RF resistant Board and it cured all issues..i think the new pearl msh 10 will prob have the new designed board fitted. Richard
  7. The official release of the DCHR Digital hop receiver i rekon!
  8. IMHO a main stumbling block for selling to europe is the high import duty to be paid from shipping from usa..
  9. I use a SD MM-1 - 26db pad into a zaxcom trx9000aa Limiter off on Trx.. AES out from receiver sounds great IMHO. Very quiet noise floor..
  10. In uk we have to use mainly between 606 and 613 mghz so thats where after 4 x units at 100mw you can get intermod. You can squueze in a couple more at 50mw..
  11. I am in the uk and i have switched 50mw/100mw and 250mw transmitters i have dipoles on my harness..i use 50mw 99% of the time except when in boats and transmitting across water or rock climbing and i switch to 100mw, if using more than x 4 radios i would never switch to 100mw whatever but stay at 50mw or intermodulation goes out the window if all on 100mw, so unless accross water or bouncing of rocks 50mw is your best friend..the answer is in minimising any tx hop/iem hash in bag etc..hence my receiver dipoles are on my harness..
  12. I try and do it tomorrow! ..bubblebee dont make a windkiller that dism 29mm however i believe they made a bespoke version for neumann rsm191 which is the same diam 29-30mm..i use bubble spacer /fur and also windkiller on all my other mics very impressed with them...
  13. I use the rycote #2 windshield kit and suspension..and a rycote inv-9 for when interior ..the pearl msh 10 is a tad too long for the Rycote windshield #1..its the same diam as the neumann rsm 191 so quite a thick mic..i havent found any other manufacturer that does a suspension for that mic diam 29mm.
  14. I cant recommend the Pearl.MSH 10 enough..its not that compact a bit longer than a sennheiser 8060 fits in a rycote 2 basket ..the hyper (M) capsule is great in mono int and ext.. The S has about the same S/n as the schoeps fig 8 the M is very quiet..the very latest version has good RFI protection..older versions can have new RFI board fitted..
  15. I seem to remember an email.from sound devices when i asked about true line inputs, saying that after the 552 ..the line inputs on all channels were true line inputs ie bypassing the micpreamp...788t,6 series etc.
  16. I think its the antenna phase switching on. Lectro thats freaking out..i got same with srb chsnged from.swith mode (phase anteena mode) to Ratio mode (true diverdity mode) and the ussue went away..try spacing antennas far appart..
  17. Ive still got an as new goldline system it works great tho i never use it now..i was using it with an SD MM1 preamp as wireless boom it sounded great..(limiter disabled on tx) the most difficult thing is finding someone who can solder the mini 4 pin lemo which needs SMD Capacitors fitted inside as well to stop RFI. Ive used the goldline tx with a qrx 100 no prob was on US Mono mode..
  18. It could also be the current draw from the plug in tx isnt sufficient....
  19. First deliveries of wysicom quad receiver in mid feb according to the uk dealer.

    DCHT & M2R

Sadly Ive gone back to using my zax hop, my line setting with MR2 is fine with c300 but too low for sony line in, ive found the MR2 noise floor is very audable if feeding sony's at mic level ..my DCHT and MR2 currently back in the box til i can figure out a usuable setting with Sony's..borrowing an fs7 to do some controlled tests..
  21. Disclaimer fromm ACE website with the dc block cables..
  22. Lots of reports of damaged units due to 48v ..i have a dc blocking cable it only works if you plug in xlr and wait a few secords for the capacitor etc to charge then plug in the mini jack not practicable in real world, if cam operator flicks switch to 48v as even with dc block cable if someone flicks switch to 48v then it will still cause a high voltage spike for a few seconds and destroy the MR2..a transformer is only real solution but cant get any small enough to fit in an xlr other than mic level transformers..i also find the noise floor very bad if trying to go in mic level..
