  1. Mine took a good couple of months... No issues so far and I've been using it nearly every day since the start of the year
  2. Agreed Re: display on the front. Not a fan. This looks very similar to Sony's new line of wireless gear. I think/hope more will be announced shortly...

    Well said Sean...
  4. That's really disappointing Jonathan. Sometimes you wonder if these techs even listen to the mics before sending them back out. I've had something similar happen to me in the past.
  5. I remember when I bought my first LCD monitors for my first Mac over ten years ago now, I fired up the first one and was super disappointed that there were 6 dead pixels. I returned them to the store for new ones, and they too had dead pixels, though not as many. I was told then that it was "normal" and acceptable to have up to 15 dead pixels... Crazy now that I think about it
  6. Glad to see I wasn't the only one... Definitely a job for Zaxcom ZFR-200 and Countryman B3. I've just bought this combination as I've been doing more and more jobs that need a solution like this...
  7. The technical term for that situation is "tough titties"
  8. Weewak in particular was a welcome sight after a week in the jungle sleeping on a hard floor... There is some stunning scenery there, and of course all the usual dangers to be aware of.
  9. I do tend to blend in... ;-)
  10. I've been a couple of times, deep in the jungles of the Sepik River, the town of Weewak, the highlands near Goroka, and of course Port Moresby Wireless works like it normally does in any other country. Scan for a free frequency and off you go... It's a cool place. You'll have fun I'm sure.
  11. Bravo Sennheiser! My 8060 came back from Germany a couple of months ago and has been working great ever since...
  12. One of my SMDa's has exhibited a "ticking" noise. Managed to record it and have sent both Tx & Rx over to Lectro. Will update once I know more about it...
  13. I feel they might have some competition from a certain bunch of fanatics...

    Lectro Dual Sra

Something is not quite right... That frequency shouldn't register full strength on the other frequency. Very strange...
  15. My 8060 went back to Germany and I've had no problems with it since, but I still carry my 416 wherever I go just incase...
  16. If money were no object, I would definitely be looking at either a Nagra V or VI...
  17. Hi Ed, I'm currently using 2 x block 24/411's in my bag for talent, and my link is also on block 24 (SRb w/UM's). I don't have any issues with intermod and neither should you if you have coordinated properly. I do suggest your link Tx and talent Rx be spaced apart physically as much as possible in the bag though. Cheers, Jase
  18. Always good to have options. I have a few of each colour. They are all standard length and I've never had issues, even on taller people using an ankle strap.
  19. I still don't quite understand why you're booming someone with a 641 from 4 feet away...
  20. Sounds like what you need is a bunch of radio mics... Or another boom op
  21. With the K-Tek version you can swap the rubber mounts out too. They make a soft version and a hard version. I've never had any sag issues with the hard version using a 416 and softie...
  22. I have the K-Tek version, works well as you would expect of K-Tek gear...
