  1. Hey All,
Just wanted to keep this thread going and updated as I recently had issues with an SRC-C1 and interference with Walkies and much lower range than my SRC-A1 and SRB block 26.  I contacted Lectro for service and received this reply few days ago:

Hello, unfortunately it has recently been discovered that some SRC-B1 and SRC-C1 receivers are exhibiting unusual RF anomalies.  Our engineers are working tirelessly to come up with a resolution.  Please keep checking in with us every week or so for updates.

Has anyone sent theirs back and gotten it fixed or did you get a similar reply?  If anyone hears anything please keep us posted.

    Thanks!

Nice that Lectro are finally admitting there are issues, when I was having issues with mine they seemed to insinuate that I was using the gear incorrectly or that their gear was performing as intended. I returned mine for a SRB some time ago.

  2. Yes quite, I always have to look up the Lectrosonics chart because very very few seem capable of talking in Mhz for some unfathomable reason? It's American TV blocks, which may be fine if you're in the USA, but it may surprise some, that a few in the rest of the world aren't. [emoji4]

We use blocks here in Australia too. The American TV blocks. But it may surprise you that Australia is not a state in the US of A... Even though it sometimes feels like we are [emoji6]

  3. Jason where did you find your AA holders in Australia. I've only seen them for crazy prices lately. Oh and I hope the batteries are all flat in your photo or we have a completely different system and it may be for the best we don't share.

Google took me to a site called Zoxoro Megastore or something. They were a little pricey actually, $30 each or something but I needed to replace my old Powerex ones in a hurry.

Since I've only been using the Storacell ones for a few weeks there hasn't been any damage but I have been a little concerned...

Oh, and yes, they were all fresh so looks like our brains are wired a little differently haha

  4. The QRX shows you absolutely anything that might be of interest. If you do a scan with a Lectro and a QRX side by side the QRX will show lots more stuff.  My theory is if you do a scan and don't see anything across the board then you are not going to be picking the best possible frequency.

Thanks for the clarification Howy, really appreciate it...

  5. The thing is, I don't use my QRX in the bag, it's my hop/camera link receiver. So even when it is on a camera there is still a lot of lower level RF activity across the whole frequency range, and a few spikes too. However, a scan on the same block on a Lectro receiver shows a completely clear scan.

    I guess my question should be;

Has anyone ever had a scan on a Zaxcom receiver that was completely clear?

  6. Glad it's not just me...

Being in Australia, and often times in more remote areas, all of my Lectro receivers (411's, SRb's) on different blocks will show completely RF free scans, but my QRX when it was in block 25 would always be busy with lower level RF junk, and now that I've had it re-blocked to 22, still that same activity is there on the scan...

  7. Just curious here...

When I scan on my block 22 UCR201, it will show a clear scan. A scan on my QRX100 will show a LOT of RF activity across the same block.

Is it just a case of the QRX-100 being more sensitive? Is there something else at play here?

There are no other factors (Tx etc) to influence the difference in the scans, just two receivers, side by side with no other equipment on.

Very keen to hear from other users who use both Zaxcom & Lectro Rx and their experiences with the scanning functions of both.

    Cheers, Jason

  8. Was watching the film Aloha last night at a cute local theatre, and spotted one of (I presume) Mr Wexlers Zaxcom ERX's used as a prop radio or listening device in one of the opening scenes...

The movie sounded excellent, unfortunately that was probably the highlight for me.
