  1. Thanks Whitney! Great review. Nissan also has plans to take the Leaf powertrain and make an electric version. http://www.env200.com/
  2. It's an rj-12 connector, 6 conductor crossover. So you wire it 1-6, 2-5, 3-4, 4-3.
  3. Check the firmware revision list. I've had gear come back better than new sometimes when the firmware was updated.
  4. What is the rack unit for? Remote control and relay station?
  5. I use Switronix. Within 5% of IDX performance and substantially cheaper.
  6. The post production sales tax exemption, Section 6378 Blanket Exemption Form, exempts the purchaser from the state portion of sales tax, around 5.25% Not applicable to production work.
  7. Thanks Richard. Neat mod. I bought the HME 26 headset and you're right, the frequency response just isn't the same as the 25-II. I use it for insert car work where I need a compact rig, so it serves its purpose there.
  8. I'm a big fan of control surfaces for recorders. Eliminates a gain stage, and if you're using an analog board you are invariably introducing noise, however small. Also, the 788 supports digital microphones, full com routing with 2 returns for boom op communication. Simple and elegant, imho.
  9. Thanks for the recommendation. Just ordered the TecNec tester from Markertek.
  10. Price wise, the 8070 does not have a filter/pad module built in. So add another $499. I never cared for the MKH70 coloration, but that's more personal preference based on my own experience.
  11. I've avoided being paid by box rental because on their box rental equipment form, it invariably states the company is not liable for damage and will not provide insurance. Since I always request a certificate of insurance, the box rental form would void the certificate of insurance. There usually is not away for them to circumvent that fact and I invoice.
  12. Oops, must have not been logged in.
  13. Hey guys, Where did the want to buy page go? I don't see it. Bud
  14. I use the Kit #2 with standard XLR connector. Been very happy with it. Bud.
  15. Yep, have them on all my boompoles. Even bought one for my plant mic stand. They're not cheap, but in this case you get what you pay for. Bud.
  16. Austin's by far the best place in Texas to live. I had a neighbor from Los Angeles move there 10 years ago to do work in the high-tech sector and he absolutely loves it. Everytime I visit I find myself shopping for houses!
  17. And what were the ramifications? Seems like an easy place for the FCC to go fishing and look productive. I would be careful covering anything in D.C. as well...
  18. Mike, the ASA minimum is $30/hour less than the 695 minimum for Y-1 daily mixer. I'd rather not have to begin every negotiation with that kind of deficit.
  19. I just had to change the sensor in my TS-C as well. It happens.
  20. So are you suggesting that the ASA be abandoned and all territories be subject to the Hollywood "Basic" agreement? Or some sort of combination?
  21. I had that interference from a video transmitter, Falcon Ultra IIRC. The tech from Sennheiser asked if I worked in a hostile RF environment, to which I replied YES! After the upgrade I haven't had any issues.
  22. I've started using the Original Pink Tape. It's usually for sport's applications, but it seems stickier than Transpore.
  23. What brand of handheld's does everyone here have experience with? I'm looking for something with a bit more range than the Shure or Sennheiser units seem to have. From what I've found, everything is around 30mW tx power except for the Lectrosonics HH/UT. Am I missing anything? Thanks, Bud Raymond.
