  1. Thanks Cliff, I've sent off an email through your contact us feature on the site. I should mention that when I use the timecode Buddy app, the timecode appears in sync with the timecode appearing on the screen of the 664 and the TC buddy wifi master. But with the movie slate app it appears to jump forward in time.
  2. I've been using the TC Buddy and movie slate combo for almost a year now and I've loved it. But I've recently started having issues with my setup. I'm feeding a TC Buddy WIFI Master from my Sound Devices 664. TC displayed on both the 664 display and the display of the wifi master are in sync, but the feed to my Ipad (that we are using as a slate) is actually ahead of the two displays ? by approx half a second. I've never had this issue before. Anyone experience this before ? any clues what it could be ?
  3. did the link not show up ? I seem to see it on my screen. I'll try posting it in this post as well. http://vimeo.com/68830569
  4. Watched this little video all about the history of the different aspect ratios and where they came from. Also a fun little run through the history of film. Worth a watch and it gets really interesting when they start talking about the wide format wars in the 50's and it answers something i've always wondered, where did 16/9 come from. Enjoy.
  5. How about the TRX's? Any word on when they will be out?
  6. Of course she is. Look at what she does for a living. Not going to find many wall flowers in that line of work. LOL.
  7. You can't be mislead by someone who lives on the North Shore of Vancouver when they say something like that. I once fell for a line like that just before an "easy ride" on Cypress Mtn and almost killed myself ! LOL. Mtn Biking on the North Shore is a whole different sport.
  8. Thanks everyone for your feedback. Lots of great info here. And of course Senator, it is added to the information garnered from the usual suspects and manufacturers. I'm starting to get a good idea of the setup I will be putting together now.
  9. Thanks Peter, excellent info.
  10. Thanks Old School, I'll drop them a line. And thank you Richard also, I've watched the LSC seminar and it was very informative. I'm sold on the flexibility / scalability / reliability of the Dante audio networking. What I'm trying to determine now is what would be the most reliable recording device to record a large track count for 15 hours + a day, for several weeks. Pix260? Joeco black box dante version? Metacorder? Boom recorder?
  11. Thanks for the helpful suggestion, but as my initial post clearly states: Any feedback from users?
  12. Anyone using the newest Pix 260 ? Was thinking of using it for a high track count reality show. Rolling the unit for 15 hours a day. I've heard from another sound mixer that they tried using pix 260's but they would randomly keep shutting down during long takes. They were recording video and audio and the units were located in a car. They ended up returning the Pix's and used something else. Would love to be able to chalk that up to being an isolated experience. So any feedback from users? Thanks.
  13. Has anyone tried feeding Boom Recorder via Dante Virtual sound card ? It uses the Apple core audio so theoretically it should work ? Just wondering if anyone has tried it. Thanks.
  14. FYI, I've been running my 01V96i for about a year now on the 300 watt inverter. (Samlex PST-12A) No problems so far. I only run my mixer off the inverter, the rest of the cart is DC. Cooling fan does come on regularly, but I've installed a fan interrupt relay that gets triggered by the logic in/out of my 788T. Basically, cuts the fan when I hit record. Working well for me so far. Also, the 90 watt peak is usually only on startup, I'd say it sits at around 40-50 watts during normal operation.
  15. Just throwing this idea out there. Why not inverse the colour scheme of the display to create a Direct Sunlight display option. Everything that is black on the display right now become whit and everything white become black. My Garmin GPS does this automaticaly at night or im the mornin so it can be easier to see in the bright light of the day or dark of night.
  16. Thanks everyone. Can anyone recommend a rental house in Vegas ? or do any freelancers rent gear ?
  17. Can anyone based in Vegas tell me what the spectrum looks like there ? Particularly for Lectro Block 24. Thanks.
  18. Thanks Jon. I have no idea about the properties of Delrin. Mine is made of Aluminium.
  19. Can't wait to see what you come up with Pascal. Hey Max, I literally just got the bag a few days ago. Haven't taken it out for a true run through on a gig yet. I'm hoping to get 6 hours per V-mount. We will see. The Swit V-mounts I'm using are 126Wh. I'll try and update in a few weeks after having used the kit on an upcoming project and let everyone know what runtimes I'm getting. Thanks Jan. I was pretty close to jumping up and down when I finally got the whole kit together. I felt like a kid at Christmas. I can't give enough praise to Harry Quan who really tied this whole thing together. I was the idea guy, but he really made it all work. Haha. Thanks Mark. It was actually staring down at my mess of a bag that inspired me to come up with this. lol.
  20. Thanks for the props everyone. I'm really happy with the way it has turned out. I"m one of those people that needs a clean and organized workspace to be able to concentrate and focus on what I'm working on. Hopefully this setup will help ! Thanks Ferdinand. I hadn't really thought about manufacturing and selling it. I suppose if there was enough demand for it, but I imagine everyone has there own particular setup for there bag so it would be hard to make a "one size fits all" solution. Just looking through the "show me your bag" thread shows that every one's ideal setup is slightly different. Hi Philip, for now I'm using the 664 TC clock to feed the TC buddy. But the beauty of this gear is that the option is always there to turn the TC Buddy Wifi Master into the master clock. I'll see how it goes. We are spoiled for choices these days with the gear we have. Thanks guys. I had thought of it while putting this together. However I've been pretty happy with the performance of the SR's as is for now and I just got them back from the SRB upgrade at Lectro and they seem to be working even better. I'll see how this setup works out. Maybe Antenna distro will be part of version 2.0
  21. You might be right Jason. I haven't priced out Delrin, but the cost for my machining was a bottle of wine. Lol. Hard to beat.
  22. So I've just finished putting together my latest bag kit. I've had this idea in my head for a few years now, ever since seeing the Lectro Octo Pack and thinking, why can't this thing be mounted to a mixer ? Then when I saw Pascal's creation (nice work Pascal!) it really made me want to finally do something about it. So here it is: I'm running a Sound Devices 664, 3 SRB's, Lectro D4 TX and TC Buddy Wifi master. The whole bag is powered on/off by a glowing green power switch and I've included a DC power meter in matching green. The custom machined bracket is mounted to the 664 using pre-existing mounting points. 2 on the "Golf Tee" posts on the top of the mixer and 2 other screws on the back panel of the mixer. The SRB's are bolted in place in the cut outs of the bracket and everything is held firmly in place. Custom low profile XLR connectors connect the SRB's to the mixer. And power is handled through a custom DC distro, located in the black box just under the DC power meter. The whole bag runs on V-mount batteries. There are 2 P-tap connectors allowing me to hot swap the batteries and never have to power down. I'm really happy with how the finished bag looks and feels. It's clean and uncluttered. The machinist who made the bracket did a great job and he even did a quick sandblast finish to the aluminium that gives it a nice matt look. All the wiring and electrical magic credit goes to my good Friend Harry Quan, who, as always, did a fantastic job.
