  1. Vin, You're killin' me. Don't be a cheapo. How much could a round trip airfare from Bombay to JFK possibly cost? You'll be missed! Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  2. Thanks Michael, I think "A" is a popular one amongst the LA mixers if I'm not mistaken, although if I recall I've heard grumblings about it's effectiveness out there. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  3. Hi Rich, Congratulations on the new digs! I'm stopping by to pick up some cables and a boom pole next week. Remind me to have you involved when I need to renegotiate my next lease with my landlord please.... Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  4. Howdy JWSounders, Are there any NYC mixers still using any of these Comtek frequencies in NYC? B=72.3 C=72.5 D=72.7 G=75.7 If so, are you happy about it? Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  5. Hello Jeff, It has literally taken me years to realize how informative, powerful, and useful this forum has been for me and my love of sound recording. It has also literally taken me years to get off my ass and donate to this wonderful world which you have created. Sorry it took me so long, and I'm making it a point to donate on a regular basis. Thank you again for dreaming this up. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  6. Hello NYC PSC Cart Owners ! Ok, well perhaps a "Powder Coating Party" is stretching things a bit, but, if we get enough people I'll pitch in for a case of Schlitz. Two things are happening here: 1) I'm rebuilding my PSC cart, and looking for any other NYC cart nerds who might be looking to re-paint their carts with a nice new powder coating to help bring the price down for all of us. 2) All my shelves are bent to hell, and I'm looking to replace them. I found a guy in Brooklyn, who can fabricate them. (OK, I know that part sounds a little sketchy, but stay with me here . . . .) If we have enough people who need shelves, we can bring the price down on the shelves as well. Also they don't have to be the exact (17" x 18") PSC shelves or cart frame that you need powder coated. If you have any other metalwork, within reasonable sizing, that could work as well. C'mon . . .who's down? Contact me via email below. Cheers, Sean O'Neil sean at sean in brooklyn dot com
  7. Hi JonG, Did you put an internally coiled cable in your VDB 16 footer? I too am at this crossroad . . . . Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  8. Flip, Looking Good ! And the music made me dig out my wah pedal from the closet. Lemme know when it's ready . . . . Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  9. Yup. I too had my fingers crossed that something at NAB might magically appear . . . . Paging Mr Tatooles . . . paging Mr Jon Tatooles . . . . If only the Allen and Heath Qu 16 could trim down (22lbs. & 16 Channels with 12 direct outs) run on DC (AC only) and change its DSnake for Dante, it might be a consideration for the (arguably minuscule) TV and Film market. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC

    Dpa lavaliers

Hi Jan, Are you referring to any single specific DPA lav that is your favorite? Or for example, do you change them for use with male/female or Ints/ Ext., etc.? Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  12. + 1 And it avoids your initial delay query / conundrum. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  13. Congrats John, It sounds like a great David vs Goliath story. I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled for it. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  14. 1-800-LAW-SUIT. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  15. This reason and this reason alone is enough for me to avoid Adobe products whenever possible. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  16. Hi ARH, To answer your question, yes, you can feed the 4,5,and 6 line inputs from your Lectro RX's. A lot of us have short 18" or so custom cables made for that: right angle female XLR to TA3 Female. Good luck, and if you have any more questions, please post them here as there are a plethora of really helpful, talented, considerate, and compassionate sound mixers here who remember what it was like when they were just starting out. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  17. Sorry to hear this Eric, he was so young. My thoughts are with his wife and children. . . . Take care, Sean
  18. Congrat's Pascal, those are nice accolades. Wait . . . . you guys did the whole thing from cocktail napkin to a built prototype in just over 4 months? Then I definitely want you to add those 5 faders ! Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  19. Hi Wyatt, Fortunately in narrative/doc situations, I've yet to have the need for 12 iso's (this of course is excluding Avi Finklestein's NIGHTMARE Bar Mitvah shoot which went into the wee hours out in Ronkonkoma where even the director in the Satellite truck agreed it was overkill . . . However, I have had the need for 12 iso's for musical projects and it would be nice/ideal to have one solution to cover both situations to maximize what the SD 664 can do. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  20. Hi Ron, I'm only mentioning this because I saw the word "prototype" on the picture . . . so here goes . . . for those people out there looking for a DC powered small portable cart based linear fader mixer to feed their 12 iso tracks on their Sound Devices 664 recorders . . . um, well . . . if you have any spare time . . . now don't get mad here . . . but . . . could you add 5 more faders please? You can? Thanx ! Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  21. +1 on this. It'd be nice to have twin booms under one roof so to speak . . . . . Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  22. Yup. 24 hr cancellation = full rate, labor and gear (even for doc's) is my experience and no one's really even whined about it. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  23. Hi Phillip, . . . . general reference . . . general reference . . . . seriously, . . . . general reference? The meters in FCP/Avid are only for GENERAL REFERENCE? W. T. F.? I find it nearly unfathomable, that Digidesign, creators of a product (Pro Tools) that has quite possibly, literally, recorded 80% of all music recorded and transmitted over our corporate controlled (FM) airwaves over the last 10 years (OK, I admit, these numbers are coming out of my ass here) is providing only a willy nilly, arbitrary, metering system not showing true peaks and with unknown ballistics. While not an experienced postie (FCP) or Pro Tools enthusiast/user, I feel a little naive here, and thank you for the wake up call in raising my awareness to this issue. 1) What makes you come to this conclusion? 2) How do our Sound Devices and Zaxcomm recorder's metering compare? Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
  24. Congrats Crew on a great looking ride. That was nice of Warner Brothers to let you shoot your publicity stills on their back lot ! I look forward to seeing the interiors as you mod it out, and let me know when it's coming out to Brooklyn. Cheers, Sean O'Neil Brooklyn NYC
