  1. the diode circuit will switch back and forth between the two connected batteries depending on who has the higher voltage, but obviously as one is being used it'll drop in voltage then the circuit will switch to the other until it drops below the voltage of the other battery… this will continue until they are both at the cutoff voltage of the battery. It will appear as if both batteries are being used simultaneously as the stored energy is used up.
  2. guessing price based on their other options is that it is going to come at quite the premium
  3. Cujo, Matt, and John. You guys get the last of my supply. Vin, I saw your message but sadly I no longer have anything left. I'm out of town this weekend and then on my last 3 days of a feature, so I'll be in touch with you guys end of this week to get your details sorted Glad this was able to help Jeff out some after a lucky eBay grab
  4. Jack, Recording sfx at high sample rate is great because you can then do cool things with pitch effects and still maintain full frequency response in the 48khz mix space.
  5. Awesome news on the routing Jack, I was worried that it would be locked into 4 iso's (analog or digital) and the 2 bus, that flexibility just made it significantly more appealing.
  6. Made it through the manual and when reading the pinout of the AES connector I noticed a "Link in 5/6" connection, it isn't mentioned anywhere else in the manual. Glenn or Jack, any insight?
  7. visited Pro Sound today and was told that they will have a demo unit in early next week, orders will then be going out as they receive product. I was also told that it will be probably a month until there will be enough inventory for you to walk in and buy one
  8. and great work to you Jeff on another classic movie, one of my favorite films
  9. I recently did a 16:9 to 2:39 crop film where the DOP and director loved the wide shot look. I lived in the "safety" the entire production. DIT freaked when reviewing day 1's footage, said there wasn't a single shot where boom wasn't in frame. But when he applied the mask I disappeared. I credit that to good communication with the DOP and camera operator and a friendly "point" when I was being too agressive
  10. Greg, didn't know you had this gig! Congrats
  11. I shall call him, mini me. http://youtu.be/tkmi_UTsjtE?t=9s
  12. I have 40 of these left Since I've pretty much made back what I originally spent on these things, and I have no plans to turn "parts sales" into a business I want to share the wealth a bit I'll send you 5 jacks for every $5 you give to JWSound I want to give back to the site that I've learned so much from. PM or email peterkmorrison@gmail.com some proof of your donation and an address and I'll drop them in the mail… USA only… sorry guys, international post is expensive!
  13. can the nuke old projects/backup future projects be an option in the app? Let users get the new version and update when they have the time?
  14. Edit: Thanks to all who donated to the site for parts... I will absolutely do this again in the future if I luck into a pile of parts that help the community Hey all I'm building a DIY Battery Distro and just got a great deal on a bunch of Switchcraft DC jacks Specifically, L712A DC Power Jack, 0.100" (2.5mm) pin, solder lugs termination, long threaded bushings to allow use of both standard and locking power plugs. They mate with the Switchcraft 761K, the same as the Remote Audio BDS, so all those accessories will work I have way more than I need, so I want to pass the savings on to you! Mouser has these listed for $4.50, I just want $1 each. to cover packing and shipping If you buy: 1 - 4, $2 shipping 5 - 9, $1 shipping 10+, free shipping! (this is for continental US only, outside US we can figure something out) shoot me a PM with how many you want, we can do this through PayPal, I'll eat the fee too… I just want to get rid of these things, seriously I have 80+ that I want to get rid of. Once I get all the parts in I'll make a nice post with photos and schematics of my BDS Thanks! Peter
  15. Vin, What does your filter circuit look like? I see some caps and resistors, how is it wired up?
  16. Looks like I just added a bunch of stuff to my wish list, Thanks iklioze
  17. I was digging around the Neutrik site last night and came across these: http://www.neutrik.com/en/accessories/accessories/modules/ Male and female ends with a M17x1 thread on the back, haven't seen one in person, but it looks like it could be a step towards an easy fabricated solution. Now someone just needs to whip up a threaded end with strain relief, probably will still be a bit bigger than the diy solutions but not by too much
  18. I have to say, I'm loving all these custom milled and well designed bags
  19. Alex, thanks for putting this together. Had a blast
  20. Tentative Yes from me! Pete Morrison
  21. I've also noticed that the real "pro" producers are very willing to offer up their experience and script to a preposed lo/no project. I've accepted some of these projects in the past based on them selling me on both the story but also the crew that they've assembled. Ultimately, if the producers believe in their project because of real objective reasons, have a solid script, and reasonable expectations, they have a better chance of me giving my free time to their "art"
