  1. Johnny, Johnny,Johnny...seek ur own counsel. Ur "...converse...," comment gets partial credit, though the malignancy and misguided and antagonistic import, bely what Constantin and others gleaned above and innately possess. U have apparently been rereading Fury's posts on simpleton logic. Keep at it. Hi Geordi et some, as regards pecuniary consideration, for everything, Most likely, this is decidedly NOT the quid pro quo of much of social interaction. Witness the benefit that you, your progenitors and progeny, (for that matter most all of you) have benefitted from, in the training of physicians, for example, where, "See one, Do one, Teach one," is the mantra, without financial consideration, save the expense of the instructor. Not that sound production is an ignoble profession, but, in the case of physician training, the greater good trumps even the animus that can exist between colleagues. Perhaps, as Constantin opines, there is hope for mankind... At any rate, Fury was going to ask a question, regarding the best method to attenuate sibilance in Post, but if the Hon. Sen. Mike, gave Fury the answer, based on the the Senator's comment, "...Even more important than keep our rates up, we must protect these secrets at all costs!," the Senator would have to... Thank you very much Fury
  2. Hon. Senator Mike, Inasmuch as Fury did not note, nor did Fury seek the "professional" nature of this forum, (in excess of many other fora), as it would relate to limitation of an hierarchical membership and attendant privileges, this forum may be, primarily, a congress of persons, whose vocation and/or livelihood connote "professional." It would seem that there is neither a "professional" appellation herein, however, nor any apparent effort by the ownership to preclude or algorithmically excise members, based exclusively on a set of "professional" qualifications. In fact, even legal, current names are not required (occasionally valuable as well...). Quindi, JWSound's arms are outstretched and not akimbo... no? Notwithstanding the above, the membership herein shares world class, in field experience, occasionally with altruistically palpable dominion, whilst the tenor can, and perhaps intentionally does, on occasion, dissuade novitiates, from participation. Deal envy and job insecurity have apparently contributed to the latter behavior, whilst social grace, intellectual invulnerability and/or the milk of human kindness, have alternately, allowed civil discourse and usual and customary nettiquite, to foster the former. A new, inexperienced, sound production member should not be perceived as a gonof, right otta'da box. Thank you very much Fury.
  3. Hi Johnny, Actually lotta seats freed up->shorter lines at TSA->plan coming together.. Thank you very much Fury
  4. Copy that. Even his pre-purchase stylistic prose is beguiling. http://www.dplay.com/book/pgs3e/index.html#buy Might follow this procedure, Jay is prolly still hungry... Thank you very much Fury
  5. Copy that. Thank you very much Fury
  6. Sound Production Sequestration... Thank you very much Fury
  7. Copy that, Hon. Senator, Flux-unlikely-see above (diff circuits, etc.) Draw-unlikely-powered on battery, via BDS-never an issue, AC adapter specs exceed requirements Components-likely- any experience, with specific downstream device flaws-wiring, boards, design, etc. and anyone heard-tell of Nomad/Zaxcom gear or power supplies having this issue? Prolly a one off or Fury's usual cloud. Anyone care to post a preferred regulated power supply for field recording work? Sending Nomad to MAJA ship to hopefully let that cloud relent and April showers... Thanking you very much Fury
  8. Any comment/experience, regarding etiology, perhaps from EE's, regarding AC power supplies (different purveyors), plugged into different circuits, failing after one to three uses, on a Nomad, for example? Thank you very much Fury
  9. Hey P et al., This sort of points up some further detail http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?95801-PayPal-eBay-Nightmare-for-sellers!!!-Tips-and-big-warning!! OTOH, in concert with the penultimate post, Fury has had great experiences, with transactional matters, from this rich forum. Seems there is a thread on that somewhere... Thank you very much Fury
  10. Hi Richard, No elemental protection listed here: http://www.qnap.com/static/products/comparison/All_NAS.php Do they have a solution that offers such? The H20 & Calor tolerances for the IoSafe are, as far as they tout, the only ones for this solution, in the industry. Do you use your cloud to send onsite, sound recording backups to yourself? Seems a really tidy process, at any rate. Thank you very much Fury
  11. Hey Ohms, Spank (for) yourself... Thank you very much Fury
  12. CEO, from IoSafe, indicates that there is no limit for individual size of drives, placed in the diskless system. The Synology partnership has IoSafe using the Synology model DS213, in the IoSafe piece. Wireless, dongle allows SSD connectivity, as one potentially useful feature. If purchasing the diskless system, a list of IoSafe heat tested dives is to be provided, by IoSafe-probably later this week , on the IoSafe site. Thank you very much Fury
  13. Couldn't get the spec page to load-still can't for some reason. Is that the max that IoSafe currently offers or the max that the diskless version can negotiate? Thank you very much Fury
  14. This new offering from IoSafe, while lacking SSD's, may be quite a useful piece of kit , for some with personal cloud and somewhat, elementally secured storage needs. No listing of the max storage capability, if using the diskless version, however. The client list, includes some big boys. https://iosafe.com/p...cts-n2-overview Thank you very much Fury
  15. Hey Pedi-Lite Haven't you been spanked enough? Some Yungins never learn, 'spose... Reread the thread, which you refer to...interesting that you have such a keen interest in Fury's activities. Work slow??? The "scandalous" thread, seems you refer to, involved no scandal, as regards Fury. Your calumnious inference, as regards Fury, has not gone unnoticed, however... Thank you very much Fury
  16. Hi Oms, Strong and completely fallacious words, especially for a someone who apparently fancies themself, or is, what resembles some sort of a "Doodle)." Thank you very much Fury
  17. All the above has a simple, but currently unattainable remedy. Banish all trial lawyers to Gitmo and nature will take an accelerated course, in the mainland U.S. and there. Be circumspect of the gitmo progeny, however... Thank you very much Fury
  18. The reference of "Intern," since the50"s, in the U.S., was more or less synonymous with the Art of Medicine, as portrayed, by the Casey and Kildare characters. In the U.S., despite the previously well recognized and accepted, increase in M&M, in July, when the "new, non-dramatized for film, interns," began their ill-paid and ill-received work schedule, a unionization was federally prohibited and it was many, many decades, before, the work/learning schedules were made safer for all concerned. NO ONE effectively took up the mantel, for the "interns," despite all the above, let alone 2nd and third year residents, until health complaints, more than anything else, for the "interns," were given a voice. The gente believed and so it is still held, that doctors made too much money and, they should pay their... Well, the M&M for other interns, be they the housewife doing neighborhood real estate, or the sound aspirant, is, arguably, less than the medical "interns." The main difference now, WRT the former, for all sorts of interns (better differentiated as apprentices) is that there are fewer jobs and too many attorneys, while the latter is more of a calling and attorneys are one of the natural enemies of "interns," in the life long, educational process of the art of medicine. For that matter, rarely has anyone been forced to accept any of the above mentioned arbeits... Thank you very much Fury
  19. Got some knuckles , from a Knucklehead that could use blue chrome, if anyone knows a top level chromer... Thank you very much Fury
  20. Zackly, They sound completely different... And many would not have he one or the other, based exclusively, on the exhaust note... Thank you very much Fury
  21. Happy Everything to Everone. Never Change....any of 'ya... Thank you very much Fury
  22. Now, now, Oms, Is that a goldendoodle, as ur avatar? Maybe U need to check ur kicks...not el toro ur apparently smelling. Moderator, please reprimand this poster. Since sound production is a new field for Fury, the purposeful, somewhat astounding and appropriate responses are much appreciated. The general public, likely has no idea, of what has been reported above, by responsive posters. Not to obviate the proclivity that some devotees, of a given talent might have to label such revelations, as having a taurine twist. Thank you very much Fury
  23. No Political responses, please, as this is a dispassionate lead to a topic that occurred to Fury, when this emailed link was stumbled on... http://itmakessenseb...-during-debate/ Is it possible to so deftly conceal a speaker, in or near the; conchal bowl, antihelix, or even the tragus (slightly increasing the tragus' size), such that talent can simply hear and parrot their lines, perhaps 0.5 sec. or whatever, after hearing the feed, whilst avoiding intentional recording of the live performance? The director could, therefore, essentially time cue the lines. Running lines would be minimized. Of course, the talent's interpretation and ego would necessitate consideration, in that regard. For big budget productions, seems this would save on net budget, anyway, and, by extension, has probably been done. Anyone have experiences, with this type of application. If so, please post. Thank you very much Fury
  24. Ho Wanda, Are U responding for Zaxcom? Hmmm...Certainly there have been many companies that have allowed end users to download, what they have referred to as, "Beta" software, prior to an official release. Some allow official releases of software that should have been restricted to select beta testers...or never released. These scenarios have played out many times, since the last millennium. Fury notes that it is short sighted to indicate, however, that, as generically axiomatic, a public availability of software, would preclude Beta status. That pretty much covers it, from alpha to...
