  1. Hi Jeff, Don't certain sound capturing venues, which it would seem is the majority of venues, at least, emulate and likely surpass the dynamic range of the Zaxcom example? FWIW, nearly every; reality show, sports and news talking head shows and ENG venues, for example, would fall here. So, OTOH, we commonly choose to risk (and, in some cases, accept) clipping or limiter influenced recording, unless the Rider can Flo the trims, by design, while, OTOH, we now have an apparently unique method to record, in Nomad, the aforementioned, erstwhile offending peaks, with near impunity. Doesn't seem that the transmitter, Neverclip feature set offers the same Ad conversion process, for transmitter recording, that Nomad does, however. Thank you very much Fury
  2. Everyone's a comedian... Btw anxious for automix, which is supposed to be in Beta now. Is that only available for select Beta testers? if so, is there a wider release, before officially released? Thank you very much Fury
  3. Wasn't that proposed to quickly follow Nomad 4.0's release (which was today)? No hardware mods required, as we recall, to 900LA's, for example. Thank you very much Fury
  4. Ho Fax, Unclear if what Jeff responded to was a new gear quote, but if you are patient, careful and persistent, used gear, arguably, with greater value/$$$$$ can be had. Fury and many others here know. No need to post the link and exacerbate festering wounds, some of which are apparently purulent and fetid, in several posters herein. The convenience of a usable, top notch, package sale, might command a premium, in some views, but the discount, that a seller, in your price range, might be willing to take, makes the bargain, even more appealing. Of course, YMMV, depending... Best of Luck Thank you very much Fury
  5. Well, his house actually fell down...not exactly, but such a huge amount of subsidence that it looked funnier than the funny house at Rye, N.Y., 50 years ago...before both were subsequently razed. Thank you very much Fury
  6. Hey Top Dog, Well said...Well taken. You did not mention what seems to be the proclivity, of multiple persons on set, to sling loads of that pile at the SP, occasionally at whim and fancy... Thank you very much Fury
  7. Fury finds that, with notable exceptions (professionals who have a signature delivery, for example), the easiest pathway to coffee break vocal training, is the review of chest->head voices, with an ear to identifying the problem-usually low, laryngeal speech habit, and the fix-get the chest voice up a bit. Ten minutes, with a pupil, who is willing to change to the preferred audibility, can be fruitful. Of course, without reinforcement, habits are just that... Tonal changes, while present, are usually rather minimal, as the neophyte wouldn't likely sustain too high a voice placement. Thank you very much Fury
  8. Ave Hon. Mr. Senator, Are U looking at running for the upcoming U.S. presidential election? Seems UR political allusions R heating up here. Thank you very much Fury
  9. Hi Old, Interesting Request. Fury took singing lessons for the better part of a decade, to sing just one song-"Crying," after playing it on piano, for some persons. Only one functioning vocal cord now, but hey, still there for ya". Post the date and Fury'll clear the date. OTOH, if you would rather celebrate a different occasion...maybe a birthday... Thank you very much Fury
  10. Ur right, Got the name mixed with another, similarly surnamed individual. Still, the 4K camera WAS PROFFERED for $5K, but, just as Red's deadlines, notoriously slip, so did the Price point not make. To hear Craig Lark tell it, the company's path that Jim Jannard founded was altered quite a bit, toward eyewear, from the original, essentially unrelated orientation, BTW... Thank you very much Fury
  11. Ave Angelo! Kewl, huh? Thank you very much Fury
  12. Before Red One, when my ex neighbor Al Jannard, kicked off RED. Thank you very much Fury
  13. Hi Timmy, Truth, justice and the American way...at the moment...You? What is work anyway, unless you consider this work...then... Speaking of you, no doubt, rashly penned, rash comment, which of the Monarchs, (if memory serves, Charles II), was said to have issued a panegyric, regarding the reservation of the sensation of pruritus to royalty, as it was so pleasurable to, as we say, scratch the itch, albeit certainly without relief, in a scabetic pandemic. Thank you very much Fury
  14. Hey sounds, You are right and wrong, all at once.. See "...proffered..." It's a compound word. Admire your zeal, though. Thank you very much Fury
  15. Really Oms? Fascinating... Fury thought it was a unique experience, when at 6 years of age, being sequestered and learning anglo English, by watching I Love Lucy, American Bandstand and The Million Dollar Movie reruns, for a week, an escape to the biblioteca and thence the process of reading Britannica and Webster's cover to cover ensued. Tell us, please, which did you choose first and why? Thank you very much Fury
  16. Hi Oms, Well, now that you ask... As posted, normally, let them blunder, even unawares. Generally, 'cause, OTOH, December is approaching and, OTOH, there is the ever so slight, egocentric tinge to repartee. Should not forget, that, Fury is a SP, infantile practitioner, who aspires to learn more of the craft. Perhaps, as a previously offered, a shadow writer, of a Nomad For Dummies manual, and/or exchange usage of Fury's Zaxcom gear, for knowledge enrichment in SP (have most everything else of interest covered, to a fashion). Fury has his eye on a few likely candidates, who are becoming more intrigued and circumspect, WRT his Posts. Also, the, shall we say, less than cordial reception that Fury and many others have experienced, on this forum, falls under the currently, in vogue, bullying awareness trend...So... Besides, the five kids have learned all they needed/wanted to at this point... Thank you very much Fury
  17. Have to check at Tammany Hall, first...No Big Gulps, though, no matter who is working... Thank you very much Fury
  18. Here, we thought you abandoned that juvenile habit. Try the library...or the internet, if need be. There is, how do U say, sound reasoning and logic there, if one is willing to be educated. Thank you very much Fury
  19. First there was Red, with 4K proffered for $5K,. Then there was Blackmagic, with 4K for $3K. Now there is Black Edition, with 4K for $0.4K. Too bad sound gear hasn't employed a colour scheme...or maybe not... Thank you very much Fury
  20. Thesoundguy, advances an interesting point, in his penultimate response, in this thread, but "his" subsequent, responsive post, lacks necessary qualification. The reader must consider, at the least, on the face of the O.P.'s content, "whether" a phenotypical or genotypical female is the object. If the former, different flavours of phenotype presentation, from cloaking, to chemical and even reassignment Sx., including various proportions of the above, for example, might qualify. If the latter is requisite, are, for example, chimeras excluded? However, as one of a myriad of examples, one is reminded of OBGYN's, whose own and their patients' phenotypic and genotypic variances can elicit the same response, with respect to the implied truth table, as in the admonition above. Lotta dynamism here, not to mention possible union/legal/BLTG (?) issues. Thank you very much Fury
  21. Hi BK, Fury did not see the post you quoted. Generally, however, Fury allows the reader to stumble along, much as the cognoscenti SP's here, must sit, with wry smiles of bemusement (minus the passive- aggressives, who have felt, somehow traduced by Fury), when the likes of Fury ventures a post into their field. Most fallacious (be cognizant of pseudo, pseudo, homophonic misinterpretations here) posts answer themselves, even if the author doesn't know it... Thanks for setting the record straight, for the Poster. Hi Thesoundguy, As Fury noted, your post was overlooked. Apology that you misread the correctly transcribed word ",homophonic," as Fury did not even contemplate what you assured everyone here is your proclivity. Fury does have a recollection of posting, without taking umbrage, a civil response to your uncivil post, with quotation marks on the homophonically offensive word. Thank you very much Fury
  22. Good to hear Amy again... Doesn't the audio seem too studio for the scene? Is there some traditional, Post technique(s) that present live, outdoor, "studio" recordings, as we hear it, in this instance? The room/street tone seems more akin to a studio tone than anything else, vehickulars aside. In fact, without the latter, how many sound professionals (see above) would call the site location the former? Thank you very much Fury
  23. Spirits talkin's all... Fury agrees as well! This dictation and transcription thing is tough on Fury and the transcriptionist. Thank you very much Fury
  24. Perhaps because of misplaced, self-revulatory, moronic proclamations. Still LOL here , though. Justin good fun, anyway Thank you very much Fury
  25. You covered it Thank you very much Fury
