We’ve had some good results with moleskin. Ursa do rolls of it. Foot foam I find only lasts a take or two at most. You can get it to last somewhat longer by sticking tape onto the shoe first and then placing the foam on top of the tape. Also makes it easier to remove the foam from the shoe. But moleskin is worth a shot.

I'd love to hear if anyone has used it in a bag too or with a Scorpio via Dante....

Hey Jason,
have not figured a solution yet... kindly the camera dept. have allowed me to leave my Ambient nano plugged into the sync port so I am constantly feeding it timecode. The only functionality they loose out on by not using the sync port is for the ability to remote start and stop. Luckily the DP is a friend of mine and a good man so he doesn’t mind doing it. I’ll let you know if we figure it out!
cheers.

Sorry I was sending this from my phone and it appears to have gone through many times!

Hello guys,
i was wondering if anyone has ever worked with this particular set up before. The Arri umc-4 is an external follow focus brain. Unfortunately it uses the sync input (where we normally plug in timecode) of the RED. The umc-4 has a regular timecode input (5 pin lemo), we can get timecode to read on the umc-4 but it doesn’t go through to the RED. Has anyone worked with this particular setup before?
Thanks!

Even on shouting you never overload the 4060s?
Hey Ryan,
its not the 4060 that overloads. I think myself, Nevo and Constantin use Lectro smv and with that transmitter the 4060 is quite hot. With very loud shouting actors it's the transmitter that clips, not the mic, the 4061 being 10db less gives you more headroom to play with. I can't speak for other wireless systems. If you let us know what wireless system you're planning to use them with then we can advise.

I also use smv and I have mainly 4060 but I have started to replace them with 4061 as the 4060 are a bit too hot with very loud actors so I'd recommend the 4061 if you're using Lectro.

I was able to see them at NAB so I was already knew how big they were. They are a fantastic size. I'll upload a picture in my hand
The next question will be how big is your hand! A picture would be very helpful if possible thanks.

Yep I'd agree with Constantin, Slim is a useful tool but if I were you I'd start with a 4060/4061.

Klaus, are the Tiny Nanos compatible with the ACN enabled Tiny Lockits and ACL204 Lockit?
Hey Klaus, Like Edward I'm wondering how the nanos work with the tiny Lockit. Can I have a tiny Lockit attached to my recorder and wirelessly transmit to 2 nanos on 2 cameras. Will they constantly receive updated Timecode from the tiny Lockit? If so, I'm in :-)
Thanks.

seems like it, as it mentions:
Input Pair Linking (Stereo and M/S) Pairs 1-2, 3-4, 5-6
on the MixPre-6 (and Pair 1-2 on the MixPre-3)
Thanks Chris I just saw that. A lot to like about these little machines at the price point I think...

Can it decode and record M/S stereo? Sorry I don't see it anywhere. Looks like a very handy machine!!

I used a 788T/CL-9 for many years and moved to a 688/ CL-12 this year. I am very happy with the switch and feel like I am providing a higher quality mix now due to the fader quality in the CL-12
Hey Whit,
thanks for that reply. I've gone ahead and ordered a 688 and an Aliha cl-12, looking forward to not having to patch things around all the time at the back of my cart and not loosing a channel for my comms mic! Also looking forward to trying the Penny and Giles faders
Also congrats on your new cart, I use a similar setup to you and your cart is very inspiring!
-
Hey John did you use a 688 and cl-12? What was it you didn't like? The Cantar X 3 looks amazing, quite a big difference in price though!
-
Hey, I've been using a 788 and cl-9 happily for a number of years on my cart. I find I'm doing scripted drama with higher actor numbers and I do wish I had more channels available. Like many of you I've been waiting for a replacement to the 788 but there's none presently forthcoming (NAB 2016 anyone?!?). I'm just wondering has anyone been in my position and made the move to the 688 and a cl-12 and if they would care to share their feelings on it.
Thanks in advance!

Any updates on when we will get a European release of the SSM? Would love to try one!
-
Yep that's a 'wow' all day long. My back feels better just looking at it....
-
It's a two part hardening clear resin. Adhesive sticks to it like crazy. Almost too well.
Got any photos of this Todd? Sounds interesting!
Hi Todd,
I too would love to see a photo of that, myself and my boom op were talking about silicon concealers just today!
Cheers.

I have both a few tourguide rx and the regular iems. The tourguide has a wider frequency band, but there are only fixed frequencies which can be switched as, I think, 39 channels.
Access to the menu is locked by default, which is useful, except for the channel setting which js not useful as the channel gets changed easily.
It's a mono receiver, but outputs audio to both sides of headphones. The IEM js stereo/dual channel. The IEM also has more options in their menu. Most of it is not all that relevant if used as a Comtek replacement. I have only used them for a few months, but they work fine. They work with all the same tx as the other G3s
Thanks for that Constantin and Derek, might pick one up as €495 for the regular G3 IEM is too much for me these days....

It’s a great looking product but I don’t think Lectro has anything to worry about, with a price of more the 15k it’s WAY too expensive. 8 channels of Audio TX would be another $18k on top of that…. Charging the extra 2.5k for each additional 4 channels is ridiculous.
